I think I’m very late to this party as I’d never heard of LP Skin Therapy before but after doing a little research I discovered that it is a very popular brand with an excellent skincare range. It was founded by Dr Linda Papadopoulos PhD a highly respected Psychologist with 14 years experience as a Research Scientist and as a practicing Psychologist – she has done alot of research on the links between mind and skin and the real effect our emotional state and life’s stresses have on our skin.
I have to say that this brand and their stance on mind and skin has really hit home to me. We’re aware that our diet affects our skin and health and the sun can often have a negative affect on how we age. But we sometimes overlook the emotional stress we’re under and the negative affects it can have. LP Skin Therapy headed up by Dr Linda Papasopoulos really looks into this emotional and psychological stress on your body its called Psycodermatology. ‘Psychodermatology takes a psychological approach to skin disorders, recognising the role emotional stress can play in triggering these conditions and tackling the distress they can cause.’
OK so on to the products I’ve been trying. I was sent 4 products. Uplifting Facial Water*, Refining Lip Exfliator*, Untired Eye Cream* & Overnight Replenish Cream* – these are part of the 6 Piece LP Skin Therapy Anti-Ageing Discovery Collection. It’s a great way to try a few products from this brand without having to spend on Full Sized items and is a great introduction to LP Skin Therapy range. It would also make a fantastic Mother’s Day Gift.
I loved the Untired Eye Cream and have used it twice a day for almost 2 weeks. I’ve noticed my under eye area is looking so much brighter and my dark circles are getting less visible. This cream contains Alpha Glucose Hesperidin – this ingredient helps encourage circulation under the eye to diminish dark circles (its working). My concealer applies so well over the top of this cream as it’s non greasy and i find my concealer doesn’t slip off or break down. Its seems to make a good base.
In the independent tests carried out on the Untired Eye Cream 80% of volunteers had a positive reduction in Dark Circles and 90% said their under eye area appeared to be more hydrated. I have to agree with this 100%. When my sample runs out I will be buying the Full Size one as its hands down the best eye cream I have tried.
The Uplifting Facial Water has been either in my handbag or on my desk since I received it. I’m a big fan of Facial Sprays and always use one. The LP Skin Therapy one smells of Orange Blossom it is very refreshing and uplifting. It contains Aloe Vera & Hibiscus Extract to help soothe and calm the skin, this is perfect for me as I suffer from a little rosacea, my skin can often need a spritz to calm it down and leave it feeling cool and refreshed. I like the handy 50ml size that you get in the Anti Aging Discovery Collection as it is a great size for travel. Are you a fan of facial mists / toners? This has been a welcomed addition to my skincare. It will be perfect on those warm summer days.
The Refining Lip Exfoliator is very hydrating for a lip scrub. I’ve only used the LUSH Bubblegum one and its very different. This one has jojoba oil in which really leaves your lips feeling smooth and very hydrated. Its like a lipscrub and a lipbalm in one. It is not abrasive nor does it strip your lips of moisture. It has so many lovely ingredients like ‘Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, Sweet Almond Oil, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Volulip. Calming complex of Passionflower, St Johns Wort, Valerian, Verbena & Wild Yam’. Its a handy product to have in your collection.
This lip exfoliator also has an added benefit, as it helps reduce fine lines around your lip and improve lip definition. I can often neglect that area and its good that this is like a 2 benefits in one kind of product.
The last product is the Overnight Replenish Cream which I was reluctant to use as I’m a Bridesmaid at my best friends wedding this weekend and was worried that any major change in my skincare might break me out. I didn’t want to be a spotty Bridesmaid. I’m pleased to report that my skin has responded well to this cream and I found it lightweight especially for a night cream and I used it on top of my Hydralurion and so far I am liking the combination. Again like the Facial Water this Overnight Cream helps to sooth the skin and minimise the signs of aging – at 35 I’m starting to see these signs and trying to keep them at bay!
I’m really pleased with the results I’ve seen from the Uplifting Eye Cream and I’ve enjoyed the Facial Water and the Lip Exfoliator. The Overnight Cream hasn’t won me over yet but there is still time. I would recommend trying something from this range if you haven’t already. Oh & I have to say that I love the purple packaging.
Dr. Linda will be presenting her excellent LP Skin Therapy Anti-Ageing Discovery Collection on QVC on the 28th February on Alison Young’s Beauty Fix between 4 – 5pm. Make sure you tune in.
LP Skin Therapy Anti-Ageing Discovery Collection £24.75 is a two week starter kit containing: • System Balance Face Wash, 30ml • Uplifting Facial Water, 50ml • Multi-task Day Cream, 15ml • Overnight Replenish Cream, 15ml • Untired Eye Cream, 5ml • Re-affirm Eye Serum, 5ml All packaged in a handy LP cosmetic bag.

It’s mothers Day in the UK on the 10th of March and I thought I’d do a little roundup of gifts I know my Mum would like. I have bought her something off my list. Can’t say what in case she is reading. (hello mum x)
There is nothing more luxurious and as beautifully scented as a Jo Malone Candle. It is one of those things that you very rarely buy yourself so it makes the best gift. The Pomegranate Noir one is just lovely the scent fills the room even after you have blown it out. The YSL Youth Liberator Gift Set is a great luxurious skincare set, my mum is really into looking after her skin and looks amazing for her age. I am hoping that I look as good in 20 years! This set contains 30ml serum, 7ml creme and a 3ml eye crème. A great introduction to YSL skincare.
The Orla Kiely recipe box is great for any mum that likes to cook and a perfect place to keep recipes. Its stylish and practical, my Mum has so many pages ripped out of magazines and hand written recipes on scraps of paper, this box would be a great place to store them. I want this Mulberry Scarf for myself. It’s so nice and made of Cashmere – I can only imagine how soft this is and of course super stylish. I would buy this for my mum but then promptly pinch it never to return it. A scarf can really make an outfit look chic and give a great pop of colour.
Betty’s Handmade Macaroons – How delicious do these look. It seems like the world has gone Macaroon mad & I’m so on bored with that. I love them and could eat the whole box. My mum would love a box of these dainty delights. The packaging is so pretty and you just know whatever is inside will be delicious. The Grace Coddington’s Memoir’s- I’ve heard this is such a great read. My mum would love this book as an avid reader of Vogue for many years and again after she had finished with it I’d pinch it.
I love nothing more than having a catchup with my mum over a nice cup of tea and its even better when the tea is in a nice China Cup and Saucer. This blue and white one from Whittard’s is simple and pretty. I may have to get two of these so we have one each.
Have you any idea’s of what to get your Mum for Mother’s Day? Or have you done a post like this – if so let me know in the comments.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will know that these beauties are being released next month.
Models Own Ice Neon Collection – These just jump out at me. They’re bright and scream SUMMER is coming (hurry up). I’ve always wanted the perfect yellow polish but have never found one that I loved. This might be it!
There are five shades Pukka Purple, Bubblegum, Pink Punch, Luis Lemon and Toxic Apple.
I’ve loved so many Models Own releases and the recent Wonderland Collection was beautiful not to mention the Mirrorball Collection – they just always seem to have great collections. These are slightly different from previous collections as Models Own are recommending that you keep them in your fridge to stop the bright fluro colour from fading.
This new Ice Neon Collection is available online at modelsownit.com from March 20th (pre-order from March 1st for guaranteed March 20th UK delivery) Also available exclusively in the Bottleshop at Westfield on March 9th then will in Boots nationwide from March 22nd.
I will be picking up a few colours and popping them in the fridge – wonder what the hubby will say? Are you thinking of buying any? What colour are you most excited for?

I picked up a cute glass vase to put my lip balms in. I thought at first it was going to be way to big, but I should’ve known I had a fair few lip products here and there to put in it. I like it – it sits on top of my dressing table and I can see them all instead of them being hidden in bags and tucked away in the draw. I’m attempting to get my makeup collection into some kind of order and I see so many people with the cutest storage ideas. I like things that are a little different and this vase was £4.50 & is perfect.
My tiles were a wedding gift from a friend they have a j & v on for John & Vicki. I like to put my jewellery on them as they stop my dressing table getting scratched. I also have a thing for birds and this one is from Malta – I love it, it’s so pretty.
Now on to my Lip Balms
I love the Maybelline Baby Lips & have heard on the blogger grape-vine that these are finally coming to the UK. This makes me so happy. I have 2 that I received in a blogger swap and they smell amazing. They are also a great lip balm and I find them super hydrating. I have the flavours Coral Crush and Twinkle.
Burt’s Bees lip balms are so good. I’ve been known to have one of these in every handbag & its the only lip balm my hubby will use & I can vouch that he has soft kissable lips (too much information?). My fave one has to be the pomegranate oil one. Its soothing and smells divine.
My tin of Smith’s Rosebud Salve has lasted my a while and is still going strong, it is quite like Vaseline and works pretty well at keeping my lips hydrated. I picked up this tin in American Apparel but you can get it online here for £8. As with quite a few lip balm products this can be used on chapped skin, minor burns and general skin relief.
eos lipbalms are cute in their fun packaging. Some people don’t rate them, but I like them, thy keep my lips smooth and they smell so good. They’ve such a great selection of flavours / scents and are 95% organic and 100% natural. They’re also paraben and petrolatum free and have vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil in them.
Figs & Rouge this company have really nice packaging and the product inside is great too. They use 100% natural ingredients and are free from parabens and mineral oils. They too have a huge range. I have the Cherry and Vanilla one and I love it. I want to try the Pomegranate one next.
Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream* – This is a miracle worker and I use this at night mostly as I tend to wake up with such dry lips. This leaves them so hydrated and when I wake up I can still feel the product on my lips. This is a handy size as I can take it with me on the go & It has been in my bag with me all winter. Again this is a product which has so many uses. So is great to have in your collection.
LP Skin Therapy Refining Lip Exfoliator* – This has tiny beads of jojoba oil which gently polish your lips. I have been using the LUSH Bubblegum lipscrub which I like but this one is different. I like the jojoba oil as it leaves my lips so soft and smelling amazing (kiss anyone). This also has alot of other great ingredients in like Vitamin E, Sweet Almond Oil and Cocoa Butter. So your lips are getting some great treatment.
Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter – this is such a lovely brand. I have tried a few things from them but I really like their Lip Butters. This Wild Rose one is so nice now that we are heading into Spring. It has a really nice tint to it, its perfect for a hint of colour when you’re going for a fresh-faced look.
Do you have a collection of lip products. They are just so easy to pick up when your shopping and we have had quite the cold winter so my lips have needed some TLC. What do you store yours in? Id love to know.

Baby Lips / New Shoes / LUSH / Metallica DVD / Coffee Date / Nail Polish Purge / Lip Care / Shopping / Odd Socks
This past week I had one mission and that was to find shoes for my friends wedding. I’m a Bridesmaid and we’re wearing lovely navy blue dresses from COS. I wanted some quite colourful shoes but nothing too crazy. I’ve been looking for quite a while but most of the shoes were too high for me and I was finding it hard to see any I liked. On a trip to Liverpool I found some lovely ones – nude with neon pink toes and stitching. So the search is over. Thank god as her wedding is in just over 2 weeks.
I also sorted out my nail polish collection and threw some old ones away. I also passed some on to my mum and a few friends. Now I have a more manageable selection.
I always feel a little better when I have sorted through my makeup. I find long-lost gems that have gone unloved. It feels like I find new products. I will be sorting out my eyeshadows this week. I’ve been hanging on to so many old palettes and colours that I just don’t use.

1. Not a Hater Top 2. Emma Bridgewater Heart Shaped Tin 3. I love You to the Moon and Back Print 4. Diptyque Rose Duet limited edition candle 5. Set of Two Love Mugs 6. Mulberry Valentines Alexa Handbag
My hubby and I don’t really buy into Valentines Day – I get a cup of tea in bed every morning and have done for 13 years (lucky me). We try and do romantic things as often as we can and it kind of weirds me out that people are almost forced / shamed into buying things on one day of the year. Also it is our anniversary at the end of February so we like to mark that occasion.
I do like the products that some companies market as Valentines gifts so if money was no object above are a few of the things I would buy myself this year. The Mulberry Handbag is just beautiful! My dream handbag for sure. Also the jumper looks so comfy and cute.
Do you celebrate Valentines is it a special date in your calendar? Let me know if it is & what you were lucky enough to receive or in fact buy yourself! This is 2013 and we sure as hell don’t need to wait for someone else to buy us pretty things – we can buy them ourselves if we want.

I’ve been reading blogs for about 4 years now. I often prefer them to a magazine. I like that their content isn’t filtered and that they have creative license. I can sit for hours reading back posts with a nice cuppa. I’ve so many favourites from fashion, food, craft to beauty there’re so many amazingly inspirational people out there and I’ve been doing a series on my favourite blogs to read. This is the 3rd instalment, if you’d like to see 1 & 2 just click through.
I’m always trying to be more organised in both my business and home and this blog helps me find new ways to do that. Its written by the lovely Benita from Stockholm. She approaches DIY and organisation with a no holds bared approach and her home is clutter free and looks very calming. Benita has great taste in home furnishings and I like her style. I really enjoy catching up with her projects.
Volume Twenty Five
This blog is so nice and is written by the creative Jessica. She has a beautiful young family and her blog is all about her adventures. Jessica also has wonderful shop. She sells prints, cushions, and also digital templates.
Is a blog jam-packed full of all things creative. It’s visually beautiful. Its put together by Holly Becker. If you’re looking for creative things to do in your home then this blog is worth a read. I often spend hours just reading back posts.
lips so facto
This is one of the first beauty blogs I started to read. I love the way Meg writes, her posts are really informative and I’ve made many a purchase on the back of her recommendations. She has excellent taste in skin care and whats more her two rabbits are just adorable.
Let me know if you visit any of these blog for the first time – or if you have any recommendations for me.

I popped into the new LUSH store in Liverpool which is also a Spa. How did I not know that LUSH had these Spa stores now? I didn’t have an appointment at the Spa but they offer lovely treatments and have 6 Spa’s up and down the country. I will definitely book myself in for a little treat. Maybe the hubby can book me in as a Valentine treat.
I went in to pick up a few bath products. I wanted to go for some that I hadn’t tried before. The new Liverpool store is just lovely. It is really big and well laid out. The staff were very helpful and I tested out a few of the products I bought in store. That a fun way to spend 20 minutes.
So these are the 4 things I picked up
1. The Enchanter Bath Bomb – This turns your bath water orange then pink and has lime, neroli and frankincense in it. Its smells amazing. I think it also has a little glitter in it for that added sparkle £3.20
2. Butterball Bath Bomb – I thought this little white one looked so cute (anything small is cute right?!). This may be small but its packed full of cocoa butter to really moisturise your skin. I like the sound of this one as it also has Vanilla and I really like Vanilla, it’s a really fresh sweet scent. £2.45
3. Fizzbanger Bath Ballistic – I tested this one in the shop, its spins around in the water fizzing and popping it’s quite cool so I just had to get one. It smells really citrus and also has cinnamon in too. £3.20
4. You’ve Been Mangoed Luxury Bath Melt – Oh my this smells of Spring & so fruity. Its lovely. I can’t wait to use it. The bar itself feels creamy & is full of skin softening butter to really hydrate you. In it are avocado, mango and cocoa butters and also lemongrass, lime and lemon essential oils – sounds lovely. £3.10
So all those are products I have never tried. I am a nightmare at relaxing in the bath – well at relaxing anywhere if I’m honest. So I’m trying to enjoy having a bath more an I thought what better way than by using a lovely LUSH bath bomb. Let me know if you have used any of these or if you have another favourite that I should try.

‘I only went in for cotton wool’ that’s what I tell my husband & I always come out with products. In my defence I had a gift voucher to use up for Superdrug and I have a little still left on it so will be popping back in at some point as I was overwhelmed with all the new releases and the makeup isle was mobbed with teenagers using the testers to do their full makeup. Whats with that …. its GROSS?!
Here is what I managed to pick up
L’Oreal Luminize Code BB Cream SPF 15 - This caught my eye as its meant to help with dark spots and really hydrate your skin. It also has SPF 15 in and UVA protection. I’m a fan of the Garnier BB cream and the N07 one too. But I’m on the hunt for a great one and hoping this is it. I picked it up whilst it was on sale for £9.99. Normal price this will cost you £14.99 for 50ml The only downside I can see is that they only offer 2 shades light and medium.
B. Pure Micellar Water I am also on the hunt for a good Micellar Water, I really like using these for removing my makeup before cleansing. I have tried a few, the La-Roche-Posay-Physiological-Micellar-Solution and the Etat Pur Micellar Cleansing Water. I am hoping this one is good as it’s a great price. £4.99 for 150ml
Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Galaxy and Luna - I just had to try these, took me ages to track them down as my local Superdrug had sold out. I have already worn Galaxy and love it. It’s a deep plum colour. I must confess that since buying these two I went back and picked up Celestial too. They are great of your not a traditional lipstick fan and if you don’t like sticky lip gloss. These are pigmented and quite long wearing. I for one am a big fan. £5.99 each
Rimmel ScandalEyes Shadow Stick Bad Bronze - I really liked the Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner pencils that were released a couple of months ago and thought I’d give these a go. They had 5 shades to choose from bronze, black, blue, beige and purple. The bronze caught my eye. I’m yet to use it but I like look of these they remind me of the NYX jumbo shadow sticks. These Rimmel Shadow ticks are £3.49
Rimmel Cocktail Colours Nail Polish - There were three colours the one I picked up Hawaiian Punch, Baby Bellini and Shirley Temple. I wanted all three but I need new nail polish like I need a hole in the head so I just picked up this Cute Hawaiian Punch which is a shimmery red toned pink. It’s so cute and girly. These are a bargain at £3.99. I can’t promise I won’t go back and get the other two.
Have you picked anything new up recently? Or have you tried any of the things I bought.← Older Entries
