I was lucky enough to snap up one of the highly sort after Latest in Beauty
#bbbdreambox2 The contents are worth over #£120 & it retailed at only £21 so thats quite incredible. Its jam packed full to the brim of beauty products handpicked by the lovely Jane from British Beauty Blogger. This is the second collaboration between Jane and beauty box experts Latest in Beauty, like the previous box its packed full. Its quite remarkable just how many products they have managed to include. I’m very excited to try everything and I have only tried a couple of things from this box which makes it even more exciting.
This is what’s included in the #bbbdreambox2
I really wanted to get my hands on this box because the only product I’ve tried is the Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. All the other products are new to me & I’m excited to try them all. It’s such good value for money. A few products I am particularly looking forward to using are,
Bourjois Bronzing Duo – I haven’t tried that many products from Bourjois, but I do love their blushers and foundations. I am so pleased to see this full size cheek product in the box & I know I will be getting a lot of use out of this. I like the look of the packaging but for me cardboard packaging never lasts very well so we will see how it fairs in my makeup bag.
The Body Shop Satsuma Beautifying Oil – This was a lucky dip as to what scent you received. The Body Shop have 9 Beautifying Oils & I’m very pleased with Satsuma. It smells sweet & a little festive. Citrus scents are among some of my favourite I’m a big fan of using body oils & this Body Shop offering is a mutli use dry oil so I can be used on hair, body and face. So this will be keeping my skin hydrated, looking bright & radiant this winter. This is also a full size product.
Kerastase Shampoo & Conditioner – This is a brand I have never tried & I always hear such positive reviews of their products. I have recently had my hair cut quite short and have promised to take better care of it so these will help a lot & I plan on taking them with me when I go to Scotland for a week over Christmas. These are luxury sample sizes and I will get quite a few washes out of them
LOLA Lipstick Intense in Strawberry Fields – I was introduced to this brand by Jane as it was included in the previous Dream Box. I recieved the Kabuki Brush & have used it almost daily since. Its great quality and perfect for applying powder or cheek products. So I am happy to receive another product from this brand and very pleased with the colour of the lipstick. Its a beautiful and extremely wearable pink. Its going straight in to my handbag & I will use it as my daily lip colour this Winter.
Essie Toggle To The Top – What a festive nail polish, its red sparkly and very beautiful. This is from Essie’s 2013 Winter Collection but its still relevant & it will most definitely be my Christmas Party Nail Polish of choice.
Im excited about the whole box, but but they’re just a few products that stand out for me. Keep an eye out for reviews of everything in the box as I get chance to use them.
Let me know if you managed to get your hands on this box & what you’re most looking forward to trying.
What a great deal. If you missed out on this box, the best way to hear when, where & how future boxes will be released is by following @BritBeautyBlog on Twitter (if you’re not already).

Over the past few months I have made a real effort to shop my stash & use up products that are open before purchasing new ones & I’ve been doing so well. I haven’t bought much at all since the Summer & it feels great to rediscover some gems I have had in my collection all along. Although a beauty addict has to do a little shopping every now & then I’ve bought a few new products during October, I celebrated my Birthday at the beginning of the month & used a gift card to treat myself to a few things.
Essence Hello Autumn Eyeshadow Palette ‘Walk In The Park’ – This just had to come home with me, cute simple packaging & my perfect neutral shades. Its got it all. Autumn is my favourite season and this palette just called my name. I have used it a couple of times & the shadows are ok, a little crumbly but you can tidy up the fall out after you’ve finished. I would recommend a primer just so you get the best colour pay off. Its a nice slim palette & ideal for throwing in your makeup bag. I can’t wait to use it a little more.
Essence Studio Nails 24/7 Nail Base – I haven’t used this yet but I have an Essence topcoat that I love so I have high hopes for this & if there is one thing Essence do very very well its nail products.
Essence Nail Care Pen – I have been getting very dry nails & my cuticles are looking terrible so I’m hoping this helps hydrate & protect them. It’s enriched with Vitamin E and is meant to nourish nails & cuticle beds, so thats just what I need.
Seventeen Stay Time Concealer – This was a recommendation by HelenRamblesOn, I was after a concealer that covers blemishes without looking heavy and this has been working out great for me. It does have quite a strong sweet scent which is slightly odd but it doesn’t linger too long. The concealer is creamy and easy to blend, it gives good coverage & more importantly it stays in place, after a good few hours (not 18 as the name suggests) the areas I want to conceal are still covered & the product is still in place, so I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a budget friendly blemish concealer.
Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner – I am a big fan of liquid liner and I really like using the felt pen style nibs. I haven’t used this yet but I have swatched it & it is very black and the nib is quite thick but seems easy to use. The swatch dried down quickly on my hand & didn’t rub off until I physically washed my hands. So it seems it has good staying power. For the price, if this wears as well on my eyes as it did on my hands we might have a winner on the eyeliner front. Watch this space.
Collection Big Fake Curves Mascara – I am a Mascara junkie and I love trying new ones. Over the past couple of months I have used up quite a few and so I’ve been on the look out for a new one & I liked the sound of this Collection offering. Who doesn’t want big lashes without the hassle of wearing false ones! The wand is MASSIVE but after using up my Yves Rocher & Origins Gin Zing Mascaras & really liking those (they both have big wands) I thought what the heck lets give that big wand a go. I will let you know how I get on, if you have tried this mascara let me know how you got on with it.
Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Translucent Powder – The beauty that is Essie Button swears by this powder & her skin looks FLAWLESS, so I had to give it a go. I love my S&G Solar Powder although the cardboard packaging sucks, I was pleased to see this powder was packaged in more robust plastic compact. I have used this a few times & it might be a little early to declare my love for it, but I like the way it sits & how little product you need to set your makeup. It makes my complexion look smooth but not unnatural. Its working out very very well so far & it is the only face powder I have packed for my 3 week stay in Scotland so that must say something.
Indeed Labs Fade To Bright – I’m always on the hunt for products that promise to brighten and keep my complexion looking radiant & this calls out the big guns in that department. It comes with lots of promises in terms of improving uneven skin tone, restore luminosity & maintaining moisture levels. During winter I feel like I have dull skin & this is going to be my skin saviour (fingers crossed). I have been using it for 1 week & I like the creamy consistency although it is a serum it feels hydrating and leaves my skin smooth. I will let you know how radiant my skin looks after a few more weeks of use.
Allure Magazine – I am so happy my local WH Smith now sells Allure. I love flicking through its glossy pages & lusting after all the make up & skincare. I have it with me in Scotland & I will be reading it cover to cover.
Let me know if you have tried & tested any of my new purchases or let me know what treats you have bought lately.

I was lucky enough to win this Expert Brush Collection on the lovely Carrie’s blog. I have tried a couple of brushes from The Body Shop in the past and been impressed by the quality of them, no shedding, they wash nicely and they are very soft. This set of brushes are very soft too and I’m so happy that there is a Foundation Brush in there as my beloved Real Techniques Stippling Brush broke a few weeks ago & I have been struggling to find a brush that applies foundation as well. So I’m going to put this brush to the test & hope it gives me a flawless look, I like to really buff my foundation in.
This Expert Brush Collection has 5 brushes & they are Concealer, Eyeshadow, Foundation , Blusher and Face & Body Brush. So they have everything covered (apart from a brow/eyeliner brush). These are all brushes I will use in my routines and think the Foundation & Blusher Brush will be getting a lot of use.
Let me know if you have used any makeup brushes from The Body Shop & if so what would you recommend.

Whilst on a Christmas present mission last week I totally caved and bought this gorgeous Eco Tools Fresh & Flawless Brush Set. I saw it & just had to have it. For a start the brushes have pretty patterned bamboo handles and they’re travel size, I know right – PERFECT!
These brushes come beautifully packaged on a book style box, on the inside cover you get a run down of each brush and a description on how best to use them. Very handy! You get 5 brushes in this set,
Flat Concealer Brush – Ideal for Covering blemishes.
Buffing Concealer Brush – Perfect for under the eye area. This buffs concealer in like a dream.
Precision Foundation Brush – This is tapered for getting a flawless finish in those awkward areas, like around the nose & eye area.
Complex Blending Brush – This can be used for foundation but I have been using it to contour & apply bronzer as it fits perfectly into the hollow of my cheekbones.
Full Powder Brush – This is perfect for applying blusher or your setting powder. Its fluffy and dense but the brush head isn’t too big and so you can apply just the perfect amount of product.
These are soft, very very soft brushes that are brilliant quality. They wash well and dry back to their original shape. Although they have a guide on how each brush should be used, like all brushes you find how they work for you & they’re multifunctional.
The Buffing Concealer Brush (blue) and the Complex Blending Brush (bronze) are my stand out brushes from this kit, I have used them both everyday since I bought them. Saying that I would be more than happy to only take these 5 brushes away with me on holiday & know that I had everything covered as the Flat Concealer Brush (green) could be used for eyeshadow. They really are 5 brushes worth buying, for £11.99 you’d be mad not too.
This kit has stole my heart & has been overshadowing my other brushes. They’re lovely to use and look very pretty so that makes them perfect in my book. Do you own any Eco Tool Brushes? I’d love to hear your suggestions. Oh & you NEED this pretty kit in your life, yes you do!← Older Entries
