My Favourite Fig Scented Products

Favourite Fig Products

Fig scented products have always been my favourite & I don’t think that is going to change any time soon. I thought I would share a few of my current favourite Fig products. Let me know if you have any suggestions of Figgy products for me to try. It seems so many brands are releasing fig products!

Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier Ultra Nourishing Oil*

This Roger & Gallet Body Oil is incredibly nourishing and leaves your skin with a healthy glow & so hydrated but most importantly the Fig scent in this is beautiful. Its so long lasting and smells divine. It has that signature fresh Mediterranean Fig scent that I love but it has a slight sweetness to it too & I can smell it on my skin for hours. I have loved using this over the warmer months because the oil really hydrated my skin and helped it feel smooth and soft.

& Other Stories Fig Fiction

I like everything about this Fig Fiction Body Lotion, but I have to say the packaging ticks all the boxes for me. Never dismiss the importance of a pump on your body lotion – it makes applying it so much easier, less messy & hygienic. Now on to the product itself, this has a rich Summery fig scent & isn’t too overpowering. The formula is lightweight and absorbs into the skin without leaving it feeling tacky or greasy. This is my second bottle & its safe to say they last a very long time. I can’t recommend the body products from & Other Stories enough, they’re such great quality.

Malmaison Fig & Olive Shampoo & Conditioner

I love the Malmaison hotel toiletries & always take home what I don’t use, well they smell of Fig so they’re too good to leave behind. These are made for Malmaison by a brand called Anatomicals, they’re a brand who always have really fun tongue in cheek sayings on their products. I have used up a couple of these Shampoo & Conditioners, they’re not amazing but they leave my hair feeling quite hydrated and soft considering its a 2in1 product. As far as the scent goes, its a nice fresh sweet scent and I do like that it doesn’t linger on your hair. The Malmaison body oil is amazing & so refreshingly figgy!

The Body Shop Italian Summer Fig Fragrance Mist

I have tried a few of these fragrance mists and they are fantastic value for money. If you don’t like Fig then they have quite a wide variety of other scents. This Italian Summer Fig Fragrance Mist is just beautiful & I really like the bottle too it smells and looks much more expensive that it is. The Body Shop describe this range as

‘This fragrance mist subtly scents your entire body with the green freshness of grape leaf, juicy-milky fig notes and comforting woody facets.’

Its Summer in a bottle & although I will be wearing this well into Autumn it just evokes memories of warm summer holidays. I like that this is quite a feminine scent which smells deliciously sweet at first then settles down to be more woody, the beautiful juicy fig notes are always there. I found this fragrance mist lasts quite a few hours but it does need applying I have put some in my travelo so I can reapply throughout the day. I want to try more from this Italian Summer Fig Range, I bet the candle is incredible.

Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier EDP*

Fleur de Figuier has been my go to perfume over the past couple of months, its such a refreshing crisp scent and people always compliment me when I am wearing it! It has notes of

  • Top notes: precious essences of mandarin and pink peppers
  • Heart notes: fig tree leaves, juicy fig and violet wood
  • Base notes: white musk, candied fig and precious essence of patchouli

Some days I spray it & It smells really musky whilst other days It smells more woody. I love that its such a layered and sophisticated perfume and it lasts for hours without need to be reapplied. I’m hoping we get an Indian Summer so I can continue to wear this throughout October. Roger & Gallet products are always beautifully packaged too & this perfume looks and smells luxurious, packaged in in a glass bottle with touches of gold and purple.

Timothy Dunn Arabian Fig Candle*

I will go as far as saying this Arabian Fig candle from Timothy Dunn is the most beautifully scented Fig product I have ever owned. Its so rich and intense and even when it isn’t lit it still fills my home with the scent of Arabian Figs. It is described as:-

Presenting a complex blend of green fig leaf, basil and clove, tenderly enhanced with frankincense; this deliciously aromatic candle has a hint of wild fig and cassis, rose and jasmine, and the rich base notes of sandalwood, cedarwood and musk.

I’ve sadly burnt the last of this candle but it lasted for months (you get at least 40 hours of burn time), burning it for just an hour or two a day because the scent is that strong it will still fill your room for hours after its stopped burning. This burnt down evenly and wasn’t sooty at all, the Fig scent was luxurious and very rich. I will be treating myself to another one of these because its just such a beautiful scent. I also had to recycle the gorgeous black jar after the candle had finished because its too pretty, I’m currently using it to sore my eyeliners & mascaras!

So thats a few of my favourite Fig scented products, what scent do you love?

Shanghai Tang Gold Lily Eau De Parfum

Shanghai Tang Perfume

Shanghai Tang Gold Lily Eau De Parfum 60ml for £100

Fragrance is one product that I like to purchase myself as a real treat and I don’t mind spending a little extra on a nice perfume but I must admit I judge a perfume by its bottle. I don’t think I’m alone in that, I like the bottle to reflect how luxurious the perfume is and look pretty on my dresser. I think I might have discovered a new range of perfumes that ticks all the boxes. Let me introduce you to Shanghai Tang, this is an international clothing brand founded in Hong Kong and they have recently released their debut fragrance collection called Silk Road which has been developed by master parfumier, Carlos Benaim, who has created signature scents for such legendary fashion houses as Armani, Carolina Herrera, Prada and Maison Martin Margiela.

This collection pays tribute to the grandeur of Chinese culture through eight multi-layered unique scents – five for women and three for men which evoke the romance and history of the ancient caravans that transported Chinese treasures to the Western world along the Silk Road. The Silk Road is known as a network of trade and cultural transmission routes that connects the West and the East, the collection takes inspiration from the intricate décor and rich colours infused with the local flora and cultural mysteries of the ancient Silk Road. Its a very exciting and beautiful collection.

Shanghai Tang Gold Lily

The feminine fragrances are Orchid Bloom, Rose Silk, Gold Lily, Oriental Pearl and Spring Jasmine (pictured above) and the masculine scents are Mandarin Tea, Jade Dragon and L’Orient.

I have the Gold Lily Eau De Parfum which has

Top Notes: Lily, Ginger Lily

Heart Notes: Jasmine, Orange flower,

Base Notes: Patchouli, Musk

Its a very feminine scent with touches of the exotic, at first you can really make out the floral notes but then it settles down and the musk and patchouli smell incredibly luxurious and soft with a little sweetness. Its quite a complex sensual perfume and the scent lasts for hours, I never have to reapply this throughout the day so this 60ml bottle is going to last me for a while. This perfume truly is a slice of luxury and I have received a number of compliments about it, which is always lovely.

Shanghai Tang Gold Lily Perfume

The perfume itself is beautiful and the bottle is equally as luxurious. The packaging pays tribute to fine Chinese craftsmanship, and prominently features the ‘shòu’: the Chinese symbol of longevity that is commonly recognised as one of the Five Blessings (longevity, wealth, health, love and virtue). Each bottle is unique. The shòu symbol is engraved in enamel on the cap and in the gold leaf that decorates the ceramic ball, serving as the centrepiece of the design which forms the pattern of the Chinese lucky number eight. Every detail has been well thought out, even the Its very weighty and looks pretty on your dresser. Its just beautiful and I think its the prettiest perfume I have ever owned.

I so enjoy discovering new brands, and Shanghai Tan has been a brand that surprised me, this debut collection of fragrance is incredibly beautiful.

Roger & Gallet Eau des Bienfaits body mist

Roger & Gallet Eau des Bienfaits Body Mist* – 100ml for £29.50

If you are not familiar with Roger & Gallet they’re a French Perfumery House founded in 1862 by merchant Charles Armand Roger and banker Charles Matial Gallet, their products have such a rich history & they are very well known for their affordable perfumes and body products. I’m a big fan of their Fleur de Figuier perfume.

This Eau des Bienfaits range is much more Summery and invigorating, I have been trying the body mist and think its a lovely light citrus scent perfect for the warmer months or if you’re lucky enough to be heading somewhere with some Winter Sunshine!

Top Notes: Mandarin, Bergamot, Lemon

Heart Notes: Blood Orange, Violet Leaves, Orange Blossom

Base Notes: Cedar, Patchouli

This is a little different to most body mists I have tried because not only does it smell incredible but it also has hydrating qualities too. I’ve never used a body mist with skincare benefits incorporated into the ingredients. Roger & Gallet have included Aloe Vera, Kiwi and Ginseng which all help hydrate and soften the skin. I find its nice to mist this on your body whilst you’re still damp from your shower, that way the scent lasts longer on the skin and helps it feel smooth and soft. Its getting all the thumbs up from me.

Beautiful Citrus Summer Scent From Roger & Gallet

This lightweight but zesty citrus scent transports me right back to family holidays in the Mediterranean, it smells like fresh warm Summer evenings. I do love a nice citrus scent that isn’t too tarte and I think the notes of Cedar & Pachouli help it smell more sophisticated and add a little depth to the refreshing scent. When I use this in the morning its uplifting and invigorating scent helps get me get ready for the day.

Roger & Gallet always have such beautiful packaging and this body mist comes in a stunning deep orange bottle that reminds me of Summer sunsets. It is a luxurious feeling heavy glass bottle with their signature style lid with the Roger & Gallet gold logo, I love their attention to detail and the bottle gives this product a very sophisticated feel.

Favourite Summer Products 2015

Four Summer Favourites

Clinique Super City Block SPF40 £18.00

As many of you will know I use a facial SPF on a daily basis and have a couple that I really like (La Roche Posay Anthlios & Balance Me) but I have wanted to try this City Block from Clinique for such a long time. This gives your skin a high level of protection against UVA & UVB rays as well as being oil free, so it is ticking all the boxes for me. Its also a great primer for your makeup because its oil free and won’t slide off your face in the heat and my makeup sits so well on top. The cream does have a tint to it but once applied to the skin its adapts to your skin tone and makes your skin look and feel hydrated. Its not just an effective broad spectrum SPF but it also has many antioxidants which protect your skin from environmental damage and help boost sun protection.

I like that its not heavy or greasy but it does give the skin a dewy finish. If this isn’t your thing you can lightly powder after you have finished your makeup & it will help it look less dewy (which is what I have been doing most days). I have been using it daily and haven’t had a reaction to it or a breakout which is good. I think one of the things that most impressed me about this product was the price, at £18.00 I think it is a bargain, you get 40ml of product which is going to last you a good few months. I have been recommending this to friends and family and really think its one of my favourite discoveries of 2015.

This isn’t just a run of the mill face spray Olivine Atelier have included lots of ingredients that will help hydrate, soothe and combat the signs of aging. Its quite incredible & includes,

  • Rosa Damascena Flower Water & Rosa Damascena Flower Oil: known to refine and renew skin at the cellular level, with powerful anti-inflammatory action
  • Cassia Augustifolia Seed Polysaccharide: mimics hyaluronic acid to retain water on the surface of the skin and hair
  • Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract: a powerhouse adaptogenic herb that protects skin and hair from environmental damage, minimises fine lines and wrinkles, and assists with stress and fatigue management

I’ve had my bottle for almost 4 months now and Its almost empty, although I’ve been using it most days so I think It has lasted a good amount of time but in future I will be buying the larger 8oz size because its now a staple in my beauty routine & I think I need a bigger bottle!

The Body Shop Italian Fig Fragrance Mist £8.50

This is part of a new collection from The Body Shop and I love it, the scent is so fresh and for a body mist it has very good staying power, I can smell it for hours after I’ve sprayed it. For me Fig is just such a unique scent and it smells sophisticated and complex. Its quite a strong scent and I like that, its not for everyone but for me its just such a refreshing and pretty scent.

I have tried quite a few of The Body Shop Mists & they’re amazing quality for the price. I would love to try the EDT from the same range. What are your favourite products from The Body Shop?

& Other Stories Fig Fiction Body Lotion £7.00

The scent of this body lotion is so good & much like The Body Shop Italian Fig range but a little sweeter. This is my 3rd bottle and I will continue to repurchase over and over. Its a great size and the pump makes it so easy to get the product out. It smells luxurious and the cream makes my skin feel smooth and hydrated. I often use it as a hand cream too because its so hydrating and not at all greasy. I really like the simple packaging style, its one of the reasons I like & Other Stories products so much.
