My Lip Crayon Collection

I love to see what other beauty bloggers have in their Muji Storage or just how they store their makeup in general. I am that person who can watch makeup collections on YouTube for hours. I don’t have a huge collection because I just don’t have the space to store it and I like to give products to friends & family that I don’t often use or that don’t work for me. So I thought over the next few weeks I would show you a peak at how I store my makeup & let you see the products I keep.

MUJI Makeup Storage

Today is what I like to call my lip crayons drawer, crayons are easily my favourite lip product I do have a few liquid lipsticks in there too. I like the packaging of lip crayons and how easy they are to apply. I also love that so many brands have released their own versions. The lip crayons in the top drawer are the ones I use most often and this cute 2 drawer Muji Storage is the perfect size & depth to keep them in.

Lip Crayons

Top Layer

No7 High Shine Lip Crayons – I have two of these in the shades Delicate Pink & Day Dreamer. They feel and look glossy on the lips. They don’t have much pigment but look pretty as an everyday lip colour, especially if you like minimal makeup. These are mini as they were a Christmas release.

Collection Work The Colour Lip Butters  I have two of these in the shades Vintage Rose & Perfect Plum. Both colours are pigmented and look so pretty on the lips. The plum shade is vibrant and the rose is a soft and elegant peachy pink. These are not overly glossy and don’t feel slippy or greasy on the lips. They wear really well on me & I think these are my favourite budget lip crayons.

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense  This is in Roundest Raspberry & WOW does it pop a colour. Its very similar to the Collection Perfect Plum, just more glossy & long wearing. I think this shade is a limited edition colour but I know that Clinique have a great selection of these chubby sticks.

NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil  This is in the shade New Lover which is quite a complex but pretty shade. In some lights it looks like a dark pink & in other lights the shimmer comes through & it looks peach. It looks incredible and glossy on the lips. There is a definite shimmer to this pencil so I don’t wear it during the day but it is a pretty night lip look.

No7 BB Lips SPF15 In Blink Pink. I have had this for quite a while now & love to use it in the warmer months, its the glossy sugary pink shade. Its quite pigmented for a gloss & I like that it has SPF 15. I keep meaning to buy more of these when I have my No7 vouchers. Let me know if you have any of these & what colours you would recommend.

Wet n Wild Lip Shimmer  In the shade 106 Spice. This has no shimmer in it, so the name is very misleading. It is a tinted lip balm (but has the pigmentation of a lipstick) & reminds me very much of the Korres Lip Butter in Wild Rose. It is a deep mauve pink shade & if you build it up it can look quite red. I love this & for the price I wish I’d bought a couple more. I use this all the time & always forget how pigmented it is.

Origins Kiss-Zing Lip Crayon* – In the shade Rosemance. It’s a pretty creamy brown shade and it’s the ideal lip colour for when I want my makeup to look low key but still put together. It is a neutral easy to wear light brown shade which is also hydrating & nourishing for the lips. It has Meadowfoam Seed and Jojoba Oils with Mango Seed and Shea Butters, so jam packed full of beneficial ingredients to keep your lips healthy and smooth. These come in 6 pretty wearable shades, perfect for Spring / Summer.

These Kiss-Zing Lip Colours are a new release from Origins & I have done a full review Rosemance, so look out for that on the blog next week.

Bottom Layer

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer  I have the shades Galaxy, Luna and Celestial. They’re glossy, pigmented and have great staying power. They can be quite messy and a little product goes a long way. I don’t wear Luna too much, it is a peachy orange shade and looks pretty in the warmer months. Celestial is a warm pink and is such an easy colour to wear. Its low key but very brightening and quite a nice Spring shade. Galaxy is my favourite of the three, mostly because I think plums / berry shades look better on me & Galaxy is a deep plum and might be more of a Autumn / Winter shade but I like to wear it all year round. It is glossy and pigmented but you can blot any of these with tissue to reduce the colour and they still look amazing.

Lord & Berry Twisticks*  In the shades Shut Up & Rock and Rose. Rock & Rose is a gorgeous bright girly pink. I was a little scared of this shade at first but it was so nice on. With my fair skin & dark hair this shade really popped, it stood out but in a good way. Shut Up is a gorgeous berry pink, It gives my lips the prettiest wash of colour. One coat is enough, no need to build it up as the colour payoff is so good. These are really good quality and are long wearing.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains – I have two of these in the shades Lovesick and Cherish Devotion. I wore these so much when I first bought them and must say since getting the Lord & Berry and Collection ones they haven’t had much love. Lovesick is a bright pink, its bold and very pigmented. Cherish Devotion is more of a baby pink and is very glossy. They both have that minty scent which I am not overly keen on but it doesn’t last too long. Revlon have such big range of lip crayons in all different colours & finishes. What are your favourite from their range?

P.S Love Lip Gloss Crayon  This is from Primark & doesn’t have a colour name but it is a glossy nude shade. It looks natural and pretty, the staying power isn’t wonderful but I don’t mind reapplying throughout the day. This has a sweet scent and I tend to wear this when I’m popping out & have very little makeup on, as its so subtle but makes my lips look even and glossy.

Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream  In Cotton Candy. The colour is a deep pink which applies evenly and creamy on the lips. It feels moisturising & it dries to a velvet matte finish. Despite this being a matte finish it doesn’t feel drying at all & wears off the lips evenly after a few hours. Its pretty, cheap & it smells so good! Thats 3 reasons you should buy it, if you haven’t already.

Let me know how you store your lip products & if you’ve tried any of the ones in this post.

Valentines Treats From Roger & Gallet

Roger & Gallet Rose Collection

Roger & Gallet are a French Perfumery House founded in 1862 by merchant Charles Armand Roger and banker Charles Matial Gallet, their products have such a rich history & they are famous for their perfumes and body products.

With Valentines Day fast approaching Roger & Gallet have lots of collections which would make beautiful gifts for that special someone but I have to say the Rose Collection is the one for me. Roses are so romantic and these Rose scented products are 100% better than being given a bunch of roses.

Roget and Gallet Rose Perfume

This fragrance is inspired by the wonders of nature, Rose Imaginaire is an Eau Fraiche* is a sensual and refreshing fragrance. It has notes of tangerine and juicy tones of strawberry, this freshness merges into the velvety scent of jasmine and violet to reveal the milky and elegant softness of sandalwood and patchouli.

The Rose Imaginaire perfume is the ideal fresh scent, not overpowering or heady but light and floral. I know most people think Rose scents are targeted at an older market but don’t pass this collection, I think it is perfect for any age. Its easy to wear & makes the perfect daytime fragrance. I like that the fruitiness comes through and adds a refreshing twist to the overall scent.

Roger & Gallet Valentines Gifts

Rose Hand & Nail Cream* – Is lovely to have in your handbag or sat on your desk. It is enriched with shea butter and rose extract to keep your hands soft & nourished and it smells beautiful. The formula isn’t greasy, it leaves your hands smooth and the cream is absorbed quickly. A hand cream that does a great job!

Rose Body Lotion* – formulated with rose petals & almond milk to keep your skin hydrated, smooth and silky soft this body lotion is a little slice of luxury for your body. Its a lightweight cream and is easily absorbed. I love that it has a pump, it makes applying it so much easier & fuss free. I’ve had gorgeously silky smooth legs since I’ve been using this.

I have to say that all three products would make sweet Valentines gifts & if you want to have a look at the full Roger & Gallet Rose Collection you can do here. They have a lovely selection of products, I would say the Rose Imaginaire is just beautiful and it would make such a thoughtful gift.

Do you celebrate Valentines Day?

MeMeMe Long Wear Satin Lip Cream

Trio of Lipsticks

MeMeMe are a brand I’m familiar with & have a number of their products in my collection, their Shimmer Stack in Bronze is a particular favourite of mine and so too is their Flawless Cream Foundation. MeMeMe offers quality products at affordable drugstore prices. Their products look and feel luxurious & they have been adding lots of new products to their range but perhaps more excitingly, they now sell internationally. So if you’re outside the UK you can get your hands on their range.

Me Me Me Lipsticks

Me Me Me Lipsticks

More recently I’ve enjoying using these beautiful Long Wear Satin Lip Creams* and thought it was about time I let you know all about them.  All three shades I have come in chic black packaging & the bullets themselves feel luxurious & sturdy. These Satin Lip Creams all apply so easily on the lips, no tugging or clinging to dry patches. They apply like a lip balm and feel very comfortable, smooth and hydrating.

  • Persian Pink – A true nude shade
  • China Rose – A dusky nude pink
  • Hot Magenta – A very bright pink with blue undertones

These lipsticks are enriched with Shea Butter & Vitamin E so they will keep your lips moisturised and feeling smooth. I will say that they’re very buttery and so bear that in mind when applying, you don’t need to press too hard otherwise you’ll apply too much product & I have heard a few people say their lipstick snapped. Just be gentle.

Another thing that may put some people off is the vanilla scent, I don’t mind it & think it smells quite nice but I know vanilla / sweet scents aren’t for everyone.

These have a nice glossy sheen to them & look beautiful on. With them being lip creams they don’t have massive staying power, they do last about 2-3 hours but if you eat / drink you may want to touch up. I found the Hot Magenta needed re applying a little more than the more neutral colours but that might just be because it’s brighter & more noticeable when it starts wearing off.

Hot Magenta is a beautiful bright colour but I did find it a little more tricky to wear, but it is a cute party colour & it might just be my Festive Party Lipstick of choice, I think It will look cute. Its not a colour I would wear during the day (but I’m a wimp when it comes to bright shades). Persian Pink & China Rose are both everyday colours I would say China Rose works better with my pale complexion and it made me look put together but still a nice natural subtle colour & its the shade I have had in my handbag. It definitely my favourite of the 3.

In terms of being long wear, I wouldn’t say these are a particularly great example of that but they are very wearable, pretty lipsticks that may need reapplying every 3 hours or so.

The Long Wear Satin Lip Cream comes in 10 shades & cost £8.50 each

Top Essence Makeup Picks

I have been working my way through the very generous goodie bag I received at the Essence Makeup Launch last month. There have been so many gems & a couple of misses too but I thought I would share with you 8 of my top picks. If you didn’t already know Essence is a very affordable German makeup brand that’s very popular not only in Europe but also worldwide and they have launched in all branches of Wilkinsons in the UK & also online. So we are all able to get our hands on them, very exciting.

Essence Makeup

German Brand Essence

Quick & Easy Sponge Nail Polish Remover £3.00

A lazy girls best friend, quite a few brands are doing these now just a big sponge soaked in nail polish but they’re so handy for quick nail polish removal & this Essence one is budget friendly & works a treat. It is also acetone free

Essence Kabuki Brush £4.00

Black & Pink …. how cute right! This is comparable to my elf Kabuki Brush which I have used almost daily since buying it 2 years ago. This Essence one has been taking its place, I apply my bronzer or face powder with this & its does a very good job. No shedding and the bristles are soft. I have washed it a couple of times and it comes up clean & goes back into shape.

Essence Colour To Go  Nail Polish in 128 Lets Get Lost £1.60

I love this colour & this is the shade I picked at the event (as they had lovely ladies doing nails). Its a stunning vibrant summery blue, this lasted so well on my nails I wore it for a full week with minimal chipping. I now have this colour on my toes and my love for it is only growing. I have to say that if there was one thing Essence does very very well its all things nail related. They have a huge selection of polishes, decals and everything you could want for nail art. I have used a few polishes and I haven’t found a dud yet.

Essence Studio Nails Better Than Gel Nails Top Coat £2.50

OMG! This is my new favourite top coat, it has replaced my Orly and I can’t see me picking up anything else. This applies very glossy and dries in a couple of minutes to a very hard but ever so shiny finish. I have applied this over every manicure since I came home with it & its helping my manicure stay in place and looking fresh for a week at a time. It really is living up to its name.

Eyeshadow Quad

Essence Makeup

Essence Neutral Quad

Essence Quad in 05 To Die For £3.00

This is a good neutral quad, the two darker colours are a lot more pigmented but if you wear a primer and take a little more time over applying the lighter 2 shades you can get them to work. This a great quad for achieving a brown smoky eye. The two light shades have a slight shimmer to them & so to does the more copper toned brown, then you also get a fantastic dark brown matte colour. The lighter colours give a little fallout but nothing that can’t be cleaned up when you have finished, all the colours are easy to apply and to blend. I’ve really been enjoying using this quad & want to try a few more colour options.

Blush My Lips

Blush My Lips 12

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in Blush My Lips 12 £2.30

This has to be my favourite product from the whole goodie bag. Its a bright pink creamy lipstick. It goes on the lips so smoothly and the colour is vibrant and beautiful. This is long wearing & thats on me (I’m terrible for lippies wearing off so fast & going patchy) but this one is great. The packaging feels more expensive than it is & the lipstick doesn’t have that cheap scent that many budget friendly ones have. Its a big hit with me & I have a few other shades that are also just as good but this pink stood out for me, it pretty & the perfect Summer shade.

Essence Big Bright Eyes in highlight it ….. pearly £2.00

This is a cream coloured pencil which is fantastic under the brow bone or in the inner corner of your eye to brighten & highlight that area. This has a lovely creamy texture and a pretty iridescent finish so it catches the light. A staple in your makeup bag, especially if you like your eyes to look fresh & bright.

Essence Eyebrow Tweezers £2.00

Not as exciting as the pink lip stick but never the less still a vital part of my beauty regime. A good pair of tweezers is a must & these look cute and get the job done. Enough said ….. tweezers that work & look cute

If you have tried any products from Essence let me know what you loved & also what not to buy.

I received these Essence products at a recent event. I’m under no obligation to review them on my blog. However if I do, the reviews are 100% my own.
