Instagram Roundup Week #4

This week i’ve been trying to catch up with everything after spending a week in Manchester then all the Jubilee celebrations. So this past week i have defiantly been back to the grind stone. The weather has also been crappy, esp after teasing us with that lovely week of sun. Its horrid having to get up in the morning when you can hear the rain tapping at your window. I hate getting wet. I am in the throws of deciding where to take my hubby for his birthday in a month. I need some suggestions for European weekend break destinations. We have been to Berlin and Amsterdam (loved both), so your ideas would be really helpful.Glamour Magazine with Benefit Freebie, Lemon Drink, Aesop Parsley Seed Anti Oxidant Serum, MUA Palette, Starbucks Hot Chocolate, Date night.

My First Cream Blush

I am a huge fan of Topshop Makeup, its price point, the quality and most defiantly the packaging are all bang on trend all the time. I really like it. I’m building my collection slowly but I am excited to try alot more of what they have to offer. So I purchased my first ever cream blush, I know i’m slow on the uptake. I’ve read and heard lots of great things about the Topshop cream blush range so i decided to take a look and fell in love with the colour Flush, its a great true rose pink colour and i think a pink is a good place to start my cream blush collection.

Topshop say this is a cream to powder blush and i really like the finish of it, it doesn’t make your skin look powdery and  the colour pay off is great & is so build-able so you can achieve a really vivid colour if thats the look your going for. I purchased this in store for £6 and you get 4g of product, now that is a great price for a blush that has great pigmentation and good staying power. I am a fan and will get more colours for sure. I’m also such a sucker for cute packaging. I get totally sucked in by it & Topshop Makeup is in cute dotty packaging so thats a plus in my book.

I have to say that the colour of Flushon the Topshop website does not look like the real think it looks very orange on screen and in real life it is a very rose pink. So be aware of that.

Do you have any Topshop makeup recommendations for me? I’d love to hear them.

Shu Uemura

Visited the Shu Uemura shop in Covent Garden, what a lovely shop. Small but full of beauty goodies (love it in there). I made two purchases. I’ve been looking for a nice soft pink shadow & a darker pink for the crease my collection seems to be lacking in good pink colours. I got two pressed shadows and one of their custom black cases to put them in.

There packaging is so classic and understated. I like it.

This colour from Shu Uemura is Light Pink 125 its a lovely soft dusky pink the refill costs £11. Its a great all over eye colour, makes your eye look bright and fresh. It’s called as a pearl shadow with light reflecting properties. Please excuse my dry skin on my hands :o(

The darker pink is such a cute colour i am going to use this on my crease & to make a slight smokey pink eye.The swatch doesn’t do it justice (partly due to my dry as hell skin on my hand). This colour is called Soft Pink 155 and is a classed as a Metallic shadow  – it does have a nice sheen to it when applied to your lid.

I have been impressed with the staying power of these shadows even without a primer. I must say i really like the darker pink ALOT!

So i also bought a Cream Eye Shadow in Beige. The packaging feels like a Mac paintpot as its in a glass pot with a screw lid. Their cream shadows cost £19 for 5g.

This cream shadow for me works well almost like a primer or to get a good all over colour on the lid. It is a real subtle beige colour and being a real neutral eye fan this is perfect to build a great neutral eye on using it as a great base. Your eyeshadow clings to this like glue and lasts all day long.

I would recommend these cream shadows they are long wearing and apply really well. I think i will get a few more brighter colours next time and see what their colour payoff is like.

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover

Ok so i have meaning to pick this up on one of my many trips to Boots but either forgot or it was sold out. I finally picked up and have used it a couple of times. First off its got a STRONG nail polish remover smell when your using it. Its quite over powering! As its just a giant sponge soaked in nail polish remover. You get 75ml for £4.99 from Boots it’s quick a big tub.

I think its a bit of a claim to say it takes 1 second, its certainly quick but not that quick. It’s a really easy and quick way of taking off your standard nail polish i have to say i do like it. Although i won’t be throwing away my standard remover and cotton pads as the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover  isn’t great at taking off the dreaded glitter polish and sometimes you need to use a cotton pad to get off the more stubborn blue colours.

With this being a fairly new product the only thing left to find out is how long it will last. I would recommend picking it up but you will still need your trusty old remover & cotton pads for glitter and stubborn colours. How have you found this new way of taking off your nail polish?
