Instagram Round Up Week #12

For half of this week we were up in Scotland seeing my dad (he had a massive stroke in December). It’s nice to spend a little time with him and see how he is progressing. It was also my Aunts birthday so we managed to see lots of family which is always nice. The other half of this week was spent trying to catch up with work and more house / flat hunting. Still trying to figure out exactly where about to live in the NW. So many nice options. So if you have any recommendations of locations in or around Manchester I would love to hear them.

The weather has been absolutely mental this week. I always seem to wear the wrong footwear. When it rains i have on flip-flops / sandals and when the sun is out i have on boots. Can’t seem to win. I’m hoping we still have some cracking Indian summer weather ahead and this isn’t the start of Autumn. I’ve too many summer clothes that haven’t seen the light of day for this to be the end of the warm weather.

Here is my weekly roundup

Driving to Scotland, Fake Moose Head, Essie Nail Treatment, Makeup, Starbucks, Stella Cidre <3

Veggie Burger, Topshop Highlighter, Witch BB cream & Serum, Tuna Salad Roll, Book I’m currently reading, Catching up on work

Amber Lights Eyeshadow

When I go on holiday I try to pick up some Mac items duty-free but this time I only picked up this one eyeshadow. I wanted some of the Heavenly Creatures collection but they only carried a few things from that collection and none of which I wanted so I settled with Amber Lights.

This is a lovely creamy shadow with great pigmentation. You can use it lightly all over the lid for a really nice light copper tone or you can also make it quite intense by using more product to give an intense deep copper colour.

This is a lovely warm toned colour and it fits well into my collection of Mac shadows as I’ve mostly neutral colours as these are the ones I wear the most. I’m so pleased with this colour and have been wearing it a lot. It makes your eyes pop and gives your lids a lovely flash of colour.

Not too much to say about this, other than that its a really lovely colour. It’s a Frost finish – I like this finish it looks nice on and gives a shimmer without having any glitter. It has great staying power after 6 hours the colour was still vibrant. You can pick this up from Mac online for £12 for 1.5g of product. I can’t recommend this enough.  Which Mac shadows have you been enjoying – do you have any to recommend?

Depotting Mac Shadows

So today I will be attempting to depot my Mac eyeshadows into a palette which I recently purchased from Katy who has a blog called Rotten Otters’s Thoughts. I don’t have a huge collection of Mac shadows. I’ve been collecting them slowly and really trying to buy colours that I will get a lot of use of & for me that’s always neutral colours.

The colours I have at the moment are

Bisque

Amber Lights

Naked Lunch

Woodwinked

Satin Taupe

Nylon

I’m quite nervous to de pot them so was hoping someone has some words of wisdom or advice for me before I jump in and make a complete hash of it. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. Also if you have any suggestions as so what shadows I need in my collection to fill my palette. I have my eye on Time & Space and All That Glitters.

AWOL & Barefoot

AWOL & BAREFOOT

These two lovely nail polishes from Topshop are two items I received in my recent giveaway win. They are both really great. I would normally have been drawn right to the Barefoot shade more neutral and subtle but I’ve been really enjoying the AWOL blue shade. It’s really lovely a bright blue a perfect summer shade and it looks so nice on.

I’ve found the formulation of Topshop nail polishes to be very good quality. Both of these shades went on really well and two coats is perfect along with a good topcoat. I wore AWOL from Sunday through to Wednesday evening with no chipping at all so that’s great for me as I’m always washing dishes and I’m crap at looking after freshly manicured nails.

I found these polishes dried really fast so if you’re impatient like me you will love them. You have to say the packaging it sweet too. Just a little polka dot pattern – really cute. Topshop Makeup has just really nice packaging. Nothing too OTT just a simple touch I like it.

Barefoot as I said is a perfect nude colour and looks great on its own or as a base to pop a lovely glitter topcoat. It’s a really lovely shade it can look slightly pink but only a really dusky toned one. I find it so easy to wear, Its lovely and subtle. Both shades cost £5 and you get  8ml so that’s great value. They do last and Topshop have a great range of colours some lovely glitters and some really funky Metallics.

I really like both colours and have been impressed with the quality and finish of them. They have been getting a lot of wear. Have you tried any other colours from Topshop? Or anything else from their makeup range? I’d love to know if you’ve any recommendations.
