Put on Your Mask

Face Mask

I don’t have a huge collection of Face masks and looking at this photo I seem to have a few similar ones. These are what I am using at them moment and the only one that is a repurchase is the Origins Drink Up Intensive.

Face Mask

First up is the Boots Botanics Ionic Clay Mask £6.99 – This was in my stocking at Christmas and I’ve only used it a couple of times. Not because I don’t like it but because I seem to have a few Clay Masks at the moment. I tend to use this if I need my makeup to last all day. So I use this the night before as it helps keep my skin less greasy and as it says in the tube keeps the shine away. This is a really thick mask that you allow to dry and I then wash it off with a flannel. It seems to do the job and I am a huge fan of these Clay Masks. If you have combination or oily skin then I would recommend this.

I have two Avon Mask’s in my collection, first up is the Pore Penetrating Clay Mask £6.95 this is the second Clay Mask in my collection. This isn’t as thick as the Botanics one but it really helps keep my skin breakout free. I leave it on for 10 – 15 mins and it dries quite tight on the face. I find this to be a really gentle mask and it leaves my skin feeling soft and clean. Next up is the Blackhead Clearing Deep Treatment Mask £4.95 I picked this up for my husband as I tend not to suffer too greatly from Blackheads. Once in a while I will use this just on my nose and chin to keep them at bay and help clean our my pores. It’s a fab mask and as I only use it on those two areas this tube is going to last me ages.

Origins Face Mask

The dynamic duo – I picked these up from The Cosmetics Company Outlet Store it was £17.75 for them both and I have been using them every week for about 3 months and they’re both still going strong. The Origins Clear Improvement Mask is my third Clay Mask. Are you noticing a trend?! This works wonders to keep my complexion clear and also combat excess oil. I only use this once a week and can say it really does keep my pores clear. I also cut out dairy last november so that could also have something to do with it. I leave this mask on for about 20 minutes and wash it off with a warm flannel. I highly recommend this if you suffer from breakouts.

The Origins Drink Me Up Intensive Overnight Mask is my second favourite Mask. I adore this. I look forward to using it and have to stop myself using it too often. I tend to use this if I have had a late night or feel run down. I take my makeup off and put a generous amount of this on. I massage a small amount on first leave that for 10 minutes and pop some more on. You leave it on your face all night smelling nothing less than AMAZING. I wake up to plump, hydrated skin that looks really healthy. I tell everyone how much I love it. I will forever repurchase this. It gives your skin a real intensive boost of hydration and I need that at least once a week

Face MasksUp next is my all time favourite mask. I picked this up whilst in the most beautiful skincare store in Amsterdam. The lovely gentleman in there recommended it too me. I have really sensitive skin on my cheeks and can often be really red esp in the winter and this Aesop Mask is so gentle and hydrating. I LOVE it, it’s my little bit of luxury. This is the Aesop Primrose Facial Cleansing Masque £33 I’ve wrote an in-depth post on it here. I will say that this doesn’t dry out my skin and a little bit goes a long way. I am trying to use it sparingly as it costs £33 – but it smells botanical and calming and leaves my skin feeling smooth, hydrated and like I have pampered it.

Last but not least is a lovely sample that I was sent last year its the Dead Sea Spa Magik Delicate Boosting Mask £7.70. I took this with me to my friend’s wedding a few weekends ago as I wanted something gentle and great for sensitive skin I didn’t want any nasty breakouts as I was a Bridesmaid. This was perfect. It left my skin feeling clean and soft and didn’t irritate my skin at all. It’s a really good price and would recommend it if you have really sensitive skin

Let me know if you use any of the same masks as me. Or if you have any recommendations for oily/ combination skin that is also a little sensitive.

Instagram Round Up #20

I’ve had quite a busy week, I was a Bridesmaid at my friend’s wedding in Wiltshire at the weekend and we stayed in the most gorgeous country manor. I also visited Whole Foods and spent a little too much money on Vegan options. As we changed our diet to Vegan in October last year. Its always nice to visit a food shop that has more options.

I’ve also been trying to really condense down my makeup collection. I want to use more of the things I have instead of reaching for the same things everyday. So I’ve gone through all my products and chucked the items that are old like mascaras and lip glosses. So I can see more of what I have. I am in the middle of getting better makeup storage. Trying to think of fun ways to store it.

On Monday I have to make the final payment for my holiday in June to San Fransisco. SO I’ve been trying not to go out spending money (apart from Whole Foods). I’m so excited for SF. I have been once before about 5 years ago and loved it, so I am looking forward to going back. Have you been to SF, or do you live there, I’d love to hear your suggestions of places to visit.

March is always an expensive month for me as It’s when all my car tax, insurance and MOT need renewing so that’s always a bummer and it seems to come around quicker every year. The first 2 months of 2013 have flown by so quickly. I had plans of doing so much with my time & I don’t think I have managed to do any of the things I wanted to. I am hoping March Is a little more successful. Oh and if you haven’t been to a Whole Foods yet you need to go. Its the nicest food shop ever. I just with there was one closer to me. The nearest one is 150 miles away.

Sorry there are a few more instagrams than normal but I seemed to take alot more this past week.

My Blog is 1

Happy Birthday

I realised that I’d been blogging for a whole year on the 3rd of March. I cant believe how fast this past year has gone and how much I love blogging. Since starting my blog a year ago my makeup collection has tripled in size and my bank balance has depleted I’ve also met up with some amazing bloggers and attended some fab events. It is so nice meeting fellow bloggers esp up North where I live. There are some very talented ladies & gents out there. I get so much inspiration from fellow bloggers and many are very helpful and take the time to give you pointers and help. Its a great community to be part of.

I’ve set myself some small blogging goals, I will do a post on those over the next couple of weeks. I just wanted to take this opportunity so say thank you to all the people that take the time to read my posts and to those lovely people who leave me comments. It makes me so happy to read your comments and I love interacting with you all.

I’d love to know how long you’ve been blogging and what your favourite part of having a blog is.

Three Products I’m Loving

I use the same skincare and makeup products day-to-day. I seem to be in a bit of a routine with both. I thought I’d show you 3 products that I’ve been really enjoying using at the moment.

B. Pure Micellar Water

B. Pure Micellar Water – this is quite a new brand which is being sold in Superdrug they have a great range of skincare and makeup. I only picked this up to see how I got on & I’ve been using it for about a month now. I have tried various Micellar Waters over the past year and out of the ones I’ve tried this one from B. Pure is my favourite.

It is sold as a cleanser, but I have to say that I use this to remove most of my makeup, however I do use a cream cleanser and face cloth to remove the rest. This is a really refreshing cleanser it smells nice too, it smells fresh but I wouldn’t be happy just using this without washing my face too. I am happy I picked this up and will be repurchasing it when it runs out. You can buy it in Superdrug for £4.99

Tommy Guns Serum

Tommy Guns Weather Protect Dew Drops Serum * There is nothing I like more than to have glossy healthy looking hair, as I get older my hair seems to be more frizzy than glossy. I’m always on the hunt for great haircare products that keep my hair healthy and in good condition. This serum which I received in a goodie bag last year has been a god send during what I would say has been the coldest winter EVER!

A couple drops of this Tommy Guns Serum works magic, you run it through wet hair, I mostly put it through the length of my hair as if I put too much product on my roots my hair gets really weighed down and goes greasy quickly. This serum gives your hair such a fantastic glossy finish and leaves it so soft to the touch. I’ve also tried it on dry hair to manage frizz and to add a little shine (only a tiny amount) and that works great too. This 50ml bottle is going to last me years! You can buy this serum online for £6.50 for 50ml

Nivea Express Hydration Primer

Nivea Express Hydration Primer – The beauty world seems to have gone primer mad this past year and I was pleased to see a high street brand release a really good one. With this being a great price I use it everyday under my base and find it to be lightweight and hydrating. It works well to make my foundation last all day. It not only lasts it helps keep my skin hydrated. Not a huge amount to say about this other than I like it and its a great budget primer.

Nivea have released two of these, the one I have is for Dry & Sensitive Skin and the other is for Normal / Combination Skin. £4.99 for Superdrug

What have you been loving so far this year?

* I was kindly given the Tommy Guns Serum to try. But the review is 100% my own.
