Marc Jacobs Daisy for Christmas

Perfume Gift Ideas

Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume

As I get older I always say to family & friends “let’s not do gifts this year lets just get together and enjoy a meal and a few drinks”. I especially love Christmas for giving us so many excuses to spend time together and it makes me so grateful for all the amazing people I have in my life. That being said it is nice to have something under the tree to open on Christmas morning even if it just one lovely gift, and my husband always gets the most thoughtful presents for me. I like to ask for something special, something I don’t often buy myself and for me that is perfume.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Fragrance

A fragrance for me is such a treat and that’s what makes it the perfect gift to both give and receive. There are so many incredible scents and this year I wanted to add back to my collection a scent that I used to wear a lot a few years ago. We all have that one perfume which never gets old and that for me is Marc Jacobs Daisy. It is such an iconic scent and the bottle is instantly recognisable with the cap adorned with pretty daisies, I haven’t owned it for so long but I’m thrilled to have it for 2018.

It is beautiful, timeless fragrance and one that can be worn by all ages. It is such a mix of fruity, floral and fresh notes that it never smells overpowering of too intense. It reminds me of so many happy moments, birthdays, holidays and getting my job at RBS. It has been a favourite of mine for so long and it was my Mum that first introduced me to it and she still wears it too, so we have the same great taste in perfume.

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Bloom

Viktor and Rolf Flower Bomb Bloom Fragrance

Viktor and Rolf Flower Bomb Bloom Fragrance

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Bloom

I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago about switching up your scent for Spring and if this had landed on my doorstep at the beginning of March this would 100% have been included. I adore the original Flowerbomb fragrance, it is such a recognisable, cult scent and for me, it evokes so many happy memories. I have repurchased it countless times since it was first released back in 2005.

This latest release from master perfumers Viktor & Rolf is a lighter more refreshing take on the original scent, it has been called the sister scent (I like that).

  • Top Notes: Pomegranate Accord, Bergamot, Mandarin Oils
  • Heart Notes: Freesia, Rose, Jasmine, Pure Air Molecule
  • Base Notes: Musk, Vanilla, Patchouli

What I enjoy about the Flowerbomb fragrances is that they are a beautiful mix of floral and sweet. With neither being too overpowering, also once the scent has settled it has a very flirty, youthful musk undertone, which I love.

The bottle is not too dissimilar to the original, it is a little more slender but still, diamond cut and looks just as pretty.

It is described as another chapter in the Flowerbomb story and if you’re a fan of the original you’re going to really enjoy this new airy, fresh, Spring offering.

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Bloom is available now from Boots, Escentual, Debenhams and John Lewis in 30ml – £45, 50ml – £58 and 100ml – £80

Michael Bublé By Invitation Perfume

By Invitation Michael Bublé

Michael Bublé By Invitation Perfume

Michael Bublé By Invitation EDP*

As I get older celebrity endorsed fragrances seem less and less appealing to me, they’re something I associate with being a teenager, in fact, I’d almost written this one off before even trying it. I thought it was just going to be mediocre and not very me, but I have to say of all the products I have tried this year, makeup included this perfume from Michael Bublé has been the most surprising and has quickly become my go to scent. Who would have thought it!?

From the get go you just can’t fail to notice how beautiful and luxurious the bottle is, if feels very weighty and its HUGE. I love the way the bottle is suspended in the centre of a gold circle and it looks sophisticated and very elegant and that feeling is definitely reflected in the scent too. I like that the bottle isn’t aimed at a teen / younger market but its more classy and the details are subtle but pretty, it looks so nice sat on my dressing table.

By Invitation Michael Bublé

New Fragrance from Michael Bublé

This is a very sexy scent and I think that is what most people would expect from Michael Bublé but it has a real sophistication to the mix of notes and I like that it has a sweetness that once settled turns into a more musky scent. It has notes of,

  • Top notes of red fruits and bergamot
  • Middle notes of lily-of-the-valley, jasmine, peony and rose
  • Base notes of sandalwood, musk, vanilla and praline

I think you would be quite pleasantly surprised at how lovey and luxurious this perfume is. The scent is a result of Bublé’s collberation with leading French perfumer Karine Dubreuil-Sereni who is behind some gorgeous scents such as Yves Saint Laurent Vice Versa, Gucci Envy Me and is now in-house perfumer at L’Occitane.

What I like most about this perfume is that it feels quite classic but has a modern edge to it, the combination of notes mean that throughout the day it settles giving you a lovely warm, rich, musky very elegant scent. I love peony and sandalwood in fragrances so actually, its no wonder that I have fallen in love with this scent after all.

I urge you to give this a test and I know you will fall in love with it, even if like me you’ve not been a huge fan of Mr Bublé’s music.

Available from Boots.com / Debenhams / The Perfume Shop /

Prices start from £29.00 for 30ml, £39.00 for 50ml, £55.00 for 100ml

Current Favourite Perfumes

I don’t like to have too many perfumes on the go at once, I tend to reach for the same ones and always repurchase these four in particular.

The Body Shop Italian Fig Body Spray

The Body Shop Italian Summer Fig

I adore anything fig scented so when The Body Shop released this collection (last year, I think), I knew I would love it. I have the Fragrance Mist and although the scent doesn’t last as long as a perfume its still a lovely option. I wear this all the time, and its my go to daytime scent. Its sweet but still has that intense, rich juicy fig scent. I used to live in Cyprus and this scent reminds me so much of my childhood. The packaging is pretty too & for an affordable product it feels luxurious and looks lovely on your dresser.

Chloe Love Story Perfume

Chloé Love Story

This is such a lovely girly scent and the bottle is just gorgeous too. This perfume is quite fruity, fresh and I think the perfect Spring scent. Its smells good all day but isn’t heavy or overpowering. It has notes of stephanotis jasmine, orange blossom, cedar and neroli, so a really lovely mix of floral, woody and fruity. It always smells so pretty, I think this is one of the most feminine perfumes I have owned. I adore it.

Jo Malone Lime Basil Mandarin Perfume

Jo Malone Lime Basil Mandarin

This is by far my most repurchased perfume, its my classic scent and the perfume I always go back to. It never lets me down and it smells incredible no matter what the season, occasion or time of day. Top notes are lime, mandarin orange and bergamot; heart notes are basil, lilac, iris and thyme; base notes are patchouli and vetiver. So its quite a layered scent and I always get compliments when I wear it. The scent lasts a good amount of time, even when I can’t smell it on myself anymore other people still seem to be able to. I associate this perfume with my honeymoon so it brings back very happy memories. I love quite a few Jo Malone perfumes, they’re so luxurious and special that I always like to repurchase as a little treat to myself (and they come beautifully gift wrapped).

Burberry Body

Burberry Body

My Mum first bought me this perfume a couple of years ago & I would never have picked it myself but I was pleasantly surprised by how lovely it was. I even loved it that much I have repurchased it three times. It has, Top notes of fresh green absinthe, illuminating elegant peach and refined freesia. Floral bouquet of natural rose absolute and iris blends gently with subtle warm tones of sandalwood to form the heart notes. Woody cashmeran, creamy vanilla, sensual amber and musk compose the base. It smells youthful – not in a teen way but in a light, creamy rich kind of a way. Its not heavy or overly sweet. Its an easy scent to wear but I wouldn’t say it was an evening option. I like to use this as a daily scent and its pretty and lasts a good couple of hours before starting to fade.
