YOU BEAUTY DISCOVERY ADVENT CALENDAR DAY 8, 9 & 10

I have been thrilled with the products I have had so far in my You Beauty Discovery Advent Calendar and if you’d like to see those posts click herehere and here. I have been playing catch up over the past few days but here is what was behind doors 8, 9 & 10.

You Beauty Advent Calendar Aromatheray Associates Inner Strength Inner Strength Bath & Shower Oil

I was so excited to find this behind door 8, I’ve never tried anything from Aromatherapy Associates. The packaging is pretty & pink (very cute). I have the Inner Strength Bath & Shower Oil. It smells so luxurious, it has a blend of Clary Sage, Frankincense and Cardamom. I think it smells a little festive. I have been told by a few people that a little goes a long way, one or two drops in the bath is enough to give you a relaxing fragrant bath. I am very excited to have a relaxing bath with a face mask and a glass of wine. This bottle is 7.5ml – full size is 55ml and costs £39.00

Trilogy Rosapene Nighht Cream,

Behind door 9 was this Trilogy Rosapene Night Cream, I have used their rosehip oil and liked how hydrating that was so I’m looking forward to trying this night cream. Its a great size sample 25ml in a lovely glass jar. It is meant to give the skin intensive nourishment, leaving skin radiant, smooth and restored. Full size is 60ml for £28.50

Inka Mineral Eye Shadow

Door number 10 revealed some makeup, this gorgeous Inika Mineral Eyeshadow. I have a lovely purple eyeliner from Inika that is so creamy and pigmented. This shadow is in the shade Gunmetal and is a gorgeous Molten Silver, perfect for Xmas. 1.2g £14.50 – this is full size.

I am so excited about the Aromatherapy Associates Oil and the Trilogy Night Cream! What treats x

My elf 50% Order

When elf did their 50% sale a few weeks ago I bought a few products, I didn’t go too mad as I already have lots of elf makeup but it was hard to resist and there were a few items on my wish list & a couple of products that people had recommended for me. This is what I bought,

elf haul

I have a few of the elf baked blushes and I love them so I thought I would try a baked eyeshadow and went for the shade Pixie. It is a pretty rose gold with a hint of pink. It has a nice shimmer to it but not too glitzy. I think this will look really nice all over the lid. It isn’t the most pigmented to swatch but I am hoping that I can build the colour up on my lids.

I’m trying to add a few more lipsticks to my collection and I thought why not try one from elf. I bought the shade Classy which is a very easy to wear Pink, it has no shimmer in it which is great. I find this to be long wearing and not too drying on my lips. The packaging is just very basic but functional. I wish I’d bought a few more of these in other shades.

I am obsessed with Eyeliner Pens and I have far too many so it was inevitable that I’d buy another one. They claim this one is waterproof, so I will put it to the test. I bought the shade Black and it seems quite dark, not sure how long it will last before drying out but I’m excited to see how long it wears.

I bought two blushes, I asked on Twitter what colours people recommended and so many of you said Berry Merry and Blushing Rose. They are both gorgeous and perfect warm colours for Winter. Although if I am honest they both look like the same colour to me. A deep berry colour with a hint of brown. I do love them. Maybe I will notice a difference when they’re on my cheeks. They swatch really well and pigmented.

I forgot to photograph the Mineral Moisturising Lip Tint SPF8 in the shade Natural as I’ve already put that in my handbag. It is so nice. It has a hint of colour, I’d say it was a light nude brown with a hint of pink. I love it & will be buying more of these. It is very hydrating and handy to throw in your bag.

Lastly I bought an Eyelid Primer, I really wanted the sheer one but that had sold out so I opted for the Champagne colour. This has a sparkle to it so not sure how that will look under my shadow but I’m excited as I love their sheer one and use it all the time.

Did you take advantage of the 50% sale? If so what did you buy & would you recommend any of the products you bought.

Oh what a pink post this will be – not intentional. These are a few products I have been using alot the past few weeks. I must be feeling pretty in pink.

L’Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution £4.99 for 200ml

I bought this when it was better than half price in Superdrug a while back and really like it at a pre cleanse solution to take of the majority of my makeup. The packaging is really nice and has a great opening and only lets a little product out at once, so I’m not wasting any. I normally shake out far to much of these waters and go through them so fast but this L’Oreal Micellar Water packaging is well designed and it has been lasting me a long time.

It contains no alcohol or parabens so this doesn’t leave my skin dry or feeling tight. It is really good at removing my mascara & I have to say it works well to remove even waterproof mascara! This micellar water is handy to have and I will be repurchasing it once it runs out.

Garnier Roll On Anti Dark Circles 15ml for £10.19

I use this before my concealer and really like how it evens out my undereye and adds extra coverage. It is quite a thin formulation and I like it. I leave it on my skin for about a minute before patting it in with my finger. I find this lets the product warm up a little and is easier to blend in. On a day where I’m wearing little makeup I would just sweep a little of this along my under eye area and wear it alone. It provides quite a good coverage. This has lasted me almost a year which is such a long time, I’m impressed. This is so easy to apply and is just handy to have in my collection. I have the shade meduim.

Seventeen Mirror Shine Lipstick in the shade L.A £4.79

This is a pretty glossy light pink shade, very easy to apply and the packaging has a mirror in to which is so handy! Very cute idea. It gives your lips a wash of colour without being too intense, so they’re great for me. This is the only seventeen lipstick I own and will be popping back in for more shades as I love the formula, it is very creamy and hydrating although its not super long lasting but I don’t mind that. If you have any colour recommendations let me know.

A few favourite products

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief – This is a gel like consistency which is oil free, it provides good hydration and is soothing on the skin. I find it cooling too so it calms my skin. It works well as a base for makeup and I find no need to use a separate primer as this cream leaves my face smooth. It is very light and absorbs well but takes a few minutes to fully sink in. If you’re looking for a hydrating day cream that is good for oily skin then I recommend trying this one.

Accessorize Merged Baked Blusher in Scandal

I am so into baked products at the moment & bought a load from elf recently, I’ve had this one for a couple of years now and it hardly looks like it’s been used. This Accessorize blush is a pretty rose gold with light golden shimmery veins running through. It gives me a nice flush of colour and is buildable. The packaging is lovely and girly and you get alot of product too. This is one of my favourite blushes and I’m so happy to have rediscovered it.

balance Me rose otto handcream100ml £14.50

I have a handcream on my desk at all times, as I suffer from really dry skin and this balance Me one not only smells fresh and floral but it is very hydrating too. You get a 100ml of product in this tube and it is lasting me ages. I like to take my time and massage this into my hands, it leaves them so soft and not greasy at all. It soaks right in to my skin and gets working keeping them silky soft. Perfect for the winter months.

Miss Sporty Haul

Miss Sporty Trio

I saw Superdrug were having a 3 for 2 & I decided to sample a makeup brand that is budget friendly and that I had never tried before. Miss Sporty is a brand I remember from being quite young, although I haven’t used their makeup before. They had quite a wide range, but these 3 products took my fancy.

First up is this So Matte Perfect Stay Smooth Pressed Powder – I went for the shade 001 light. It promises to last all day (which I doubt) and to also minimise shine and give you a natural matte finish. I like the sound of that. Like most people, I tend to use the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and would like to give something different a go. So will be putting it to the test next week. The packaging is nice, and you get a large mirror in the lid, and it is hot pink! £1.99 for 9.4g

Next is this pretty Cat’s Eyes Palette 004 Mineral Earth and this is what caught my attention & hooked me in. It is pretty and has 4 pretty wearable shades. They feel quite creamy & I swatched the tester in store & was shocked at how pretty and pigmented the 2 darker brown shades were. £3.99

Lastly, I noticed this Liquid Concealer With Vitamins E & C – I bought the shade 001 light – I’ve tried so many concealers from budget to high-end and they almost all crease like hell on my under eye area. The best I have found so far is the Rimmel Wake Me Up, which is good but not amazing. I thought why not give this a go, From swatching it, it feels creamy but not heavy and is quite easy to blend. I am going to wear it this weekend and see how well it works under my eyes. £2.99 for 5ml.

Miss Sporty Makeup

Have you tried anything from Miss Sporty? I liked the look of a few nail polishes, so I will see how I get on with these three products, and then I might pop back and try a few more products.
