Three Products I’m Loving #2

I did a similar post a few weeks ago. I always forget to do a monthly favourites so I thought picking three products every so often that I’d been using a lot would be easier. So here are the three products I have been loving and using a fair bit lately.

Sally Hansen Mega ShineTopcoat

Sally Hansen Mega Shine Topcoat – I always buy this from TK Maxx for £3.99 and it is the best topcoat I’ve used. It prolongs the wear of my nail polish and makes my nail polish colour POP. It’s so glossy and as the name suggests gives your nails a Mega Shine. Its 100% fab (technical term). I can’t wear nail polish without a topcoat as it chips too fast and I really like the look of glossy nails.

NARS Foreplay Palette

NARS Foreplay Cheek Palette – This cheek quad is so pretty I could look at it all day long. This has a Peach Matte Blush, Gold Highlighting Blush, Pink Matte Blush, Orgasm Blush I don’t wear the gold too much but the other 3 shades I love.

It’s great for travel and I tend to use it mostly for that, but as a new years resolution I wanted to use my favourite products more. So I leave this out on my dresser and I have been reaching for it so much more and I’ve been getting more wear out of it. Its far too pretty to be in a drawer. The Matt Pink is my all time favourite shade and with a light hand it looks pretty on the cheek. I did a review of this last year if you’d like to read it here. This was a limited edition palette, but as far as I am aware it’s still available at SpaceNK

Avon Golden Glamour Duo

Avon Golden Glamour Blush Duo – this is another really pretty product. I bought it last Spring and have used it at some point every week. It really is one of my top blush / highlighters its stunning. Avon did well with this. I really like duo products this is another product that I take with me when I travel. The blush is a soft dusky pink and the highlighter has a really pretty shimmer without being too discoball its very pretty and applies really nicely to your cheeks / cheekbones and adds a flush of colour and brightness to your face. It sits nicely on the skin and doesn’t look dusty or powdery on top of your foundation. It’s very light and pretty.

So they’re the three products I have been loving – who knew I was in love with two cheek products. What have you been using a lot lately?

Whole Foods

3 weeks ago I drove down from Manchester to Wiltshire for my friends wedding (I was a Bridesmaid) and we stopped off on the way at Cheltenham to visit Whole Foods. I was beyond excited to go here as I’d heard such great things about the selection of Vegan food that they stock. Not only that, it is such a lovely store to shop in, it’s bright and full of fresh, local and organic produce. I thought you might like to see some photos I took.

The security guard thought I was mental taking so many photos but I was really excited to be there (clearly I don’t get out very often).

Whole Foods Cheltenham

Sorry this is a little picture heavy but It was such a nice store. As I said I went to the one in Cheltenham and I know there are a few Whole Food Stores in the UK, mostly in London and one in Glasgow. They had so many lovely organic beauty products I wish I’d picked up some more things. I am planning on going to the Glasgow store when I drive up to Dundee in a couple of weeks.

Whole Foods is very different to the normal supermarkets we get in the UK. It has more of a marketplace feel, rather than the generic aisle after aisle feel of most supermarkets. the first thing that strikes you when walking into the store is just how friendly the staff are. We where greeted by a lovely man who offered us a range of freebies to taste (we instantly picked up a box of Korean spicy bites, good marketing). As soon as you enter the store you are in the fresh produce section. The fruit & vegetables are presented really nicely & it’s all so fresh.

Further into the store you have the spices & the wines. An amazing array of wines & beers and even a small bar area to fill up your own bottles (how cute) and taste some of the beers & wines. The butchery, fishmongers & cheese counters all look amazing (even if I’m on a vegan diet now). They also have separate areas for the bakery, fresh coffee & grinding & fresh juices. The rest of the shop is more like a traditional supermarket, but with a great selection of fair trade & locally sourced brands.

The staff are amazing, they pack all your shopping for you at the till into paper bags & our cashier even gave us a recipe based on the foods we had selected. Amazing.

Finally they have a cute cafe area where you can site & eat produce you have picked up in the store. We had pea & mint soup with fresh rolls & elderflower juice. So yummy. Here is some of what we bought.

Blogs I Love To Read #4

This will be my 4th post on the blogs I really love to read – there are so many that I’m sure this thread will carry on for a good few months. So here are my next 4 blogs I read on a regular basis. If you want to see my previous posts others click here

Bleubird

Bleubird

is just a beautiful blog to read. I’m sure you have all heard of it & read it at some point. It’s written by the stunning James, who is a stay at home mum to 4 beautiful children. James is just one inspirational lady she is a wonderful mother, very stylish and super talented her blog is full of amazing photography and I want to steal her style from head to toe.

North of London

I love reading North of London which is written by the lovely Phoebe. It’s a great mix of beauty, food and lifestyle. Her reviews are always honest and really well written and are accompanied by some lovely photography. I always try to save these posts up for a couple of weeks so I have a few to read at once. I have to say that her blog is very well put together too. It’s visually really nice.

Halfgirl

Young is the lady behind Halfgirl. I’ve been reading Young’s blog for a number of years now and her photography is stunning. Her photos are beautiful and inspire me so much. She lives in Denmark and has excellent taste in both Music and Style. I urge you to pay her blog a visit you won’t be disappointed, but it most certainly will leave you with food envy.

Describe The Sky

Describe the Sky is a really lovely beauty blog written by a fellow Vicky. She writes to the point, honest reviews. I’m excited to see what is to come from Vicky this year. Pop over and show her some love and let her know I sent you.

Let me know if you visit any of my favourite blogs. Also I’d love to know what you are ready at the moment. Leave me links to your most visited blogs in the comments.

Grid of Makeup

Instead of doing my usual weekly Instagram round-up I thought I’d put together my Makeup Of The Day pictures. I love seeing them all together. Seeing which products I reach for often. This week has been a bit tough for me – not going to go into details but my dad isn’t doing too well so I am hoping to drive up to Scotland to see him before the end of the month.

I have just been working mostly this week and I also popped to Manchester to pay the last of my holiday to San Francisco in June. I am so excited for this and I’m counting down the days. I need a break so badly.

Makeup Of The Day 1

I love using my Mac MSF in Natural and my elf  Clarifying Powder these are both great to keep my makeup on and keep oil at bay. My Garnier under eye roll on concealer also gets a bit of love, I do use this quite a lot and it does a great job. I only have two Benefit boxed blushes in 10 and Dallas I’ve had them for at least 2 years and I really like them.

I’m also a complete neutral eyeshadow junkie as you can see from my Naked Palette, Vivo Chocolate Box, Vivo Unprotected Palette and my YSL Palette.

I’m looking at these photos thinking “I must dig that out again” & “oh, I wonder where that has gone!”

Makeup Of The Day 2

I love the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser it makes the nicest base. It leaves my skin looking so healthy without covering up my freckles and natural colouring. My HD Brow Kit comes everywhere with me.

Mascara’s seem to always be black and lengthening like the Avon Super Magnify, Revlon Grow Luscious, Covergirl Lashblast, Benefit Badgal, 17 Peep Show (love the packaging for this).

For concealer I tend to use Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, Benefit Boi ing, Garnier Dark Circle Roll On, Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection.

Do you use any of these products on a regular basis? I am going to keep on taking photos of my daily makeup choices (when I remember). Its great seeing it all together
