Merumaya Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel £19.50 – I like to use this in the morning as it really leaves your skin smooth & looking bright. A great way to start the day. It has a combination of Glycolic Acid and Pomegranate Enzymes to help break down dead skin and re texturize it revealing vibrant, healthy smooth skin. It has a thick consistency & I like to apply a generous layer all over my face, leaving it for about 5 minutes. Its gentle but effective & a great weekly treatment to help revive dull lack lustre skin.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector £19.00 – This little product always gets lost in my stash & I forget I have it but after having a clear out & have fewer concealers and so this has found pride of place in my current daily routine. Its a peachy pink corrector that helps counteract dark circles & make the under eye area appear brighter, you layer this under your concealer and it works a treat. This does crease on me after a couple of hours but thats because it is quite thick & creamy but i just pat it back into place and it looks good to go.

Soap & Glory Hocus Focus £11.00 – This gives the skin a lovely pearlescent illuminating glow and it looks beautiful worn under makeup or I have mixed it with my moisturiser / foundation for more of a subtle effect. Its not a primer, more of a glow enhancer & I think it does a great job at helping smooth imperfections. It is quite a runny milky formula, so don’t pump out too much & I find one pump is enough for my whole face. Its a product that just makes your skin look healthier, brighter & more awake. I have had this bottle for a while now & S&G have since changed the packaging. This is a product that will last you so very long & so is worth adding to your stash.

L’Oreal La Palette Nude

LOreal LaPalette Nude Eyeshadows

L'Oreal La Palette Nude

I am a sucker for a palette & especially a nude palette – I purchased the L’Oréal La Palette Nude Rose first last year & although at first I thought it was a little pricey, after a few uses I realised the eyeshadows are fantastic quality, and you get 10 shadows in each palette. I love the selection of colours in the Rose palette, they range from a light cream to more rosy shades & a gorgeous deep plum.

Then I purchased the newer L’Oréal La Palette Nude Beige earlier this year & they have both been welcome additions to my makeup stash. I hope L’Oréal release more of these, I would like to see an all Matte option, I think that would be perfect.

LOreal La Palette Nude Eyeshadows

LOreal La Palette Nude Rose

It’s a versatile palette and you can get create a lot of different looks with the shades, I am not normally one to reach for plums or pink tones, but this palette has changed my mind. As you can see from the swatches the shadows are pigmented and apart from the first light cream colour the rest are buttery and blend like a dream. You get 6 shimmers and 4 matte colours, so a good mix for a high street palette.

The packaging is identical on both palettes and feels luxurious, it’s black & gold, which adds to its sleek look. Although the packaging is plastic, it’s not flimsy or cheep looking but feels robust & shuts tight so It won’t open in your makeup bag. The palette is compact and great for travel, there is also a good size mirror too which is always handy.

La Palette Nude Beige

Although I really like the Rose palette, when I heard that L’Oréal were releasing a Nude version, I was so excited & I wasn’t to be disappointed. The colours are beautiful and ideal for creating a warm neutral smokey eye, and although I probably have identical shades in all my other neutral palettes, I really like the formula and pigmentation of these L’Oréal ones. Much like the Rose palette, you get 10 shadows, 4 of which are matte & 6 are more shimmery. It’s good that both palettes have very different colours in, so they’re well worth investing in both.

As you can see from the swatches, the colour is bold and very wearable, even the deep grey is easy to blend and isn’t chalky. I love that you get a good mix of neutral colours from taupe, gold to more copper and a lovely deep grey.

I have to say It’s a neutral palette that has been getting a lot of use, I have travelled with it a few times, and it’s been all I needed, I didn’t take any other eye shadows. As I said, these palettes are so slim and perfect for travel.

Benefit Dallas £23.50 – I have had this boxed blush for so long & I have hardly even made a dent in the product. A little goes a very very long way with this. It is too dark for me in the colder months but as soon as my face gets a little colour its perfect. It gives a really pretty bronze glow to the skin, I like to sweep it across my cheek bones & across my forehead, its a really nice dusky shade and I am so pleased I have rediscovered it just in time for Summer.

MUA Eye Define Lengthening Mascara* £3.00 – This is a really good mascara for separating the lashes and giving them length, its not going to make your lashes look think & full so if like me you have quite naturally thick lashes then this will make them look long and fluttery. I can’t believe it is only £3, I seriously love it & it lasts ALL day with out flaking or transferring. This is a very intense black so if you like your mascara to be jet black this is a great option. It’s a mascara thats well worth adding to your makeup stash. I try not to have too many mascaras on the go at once because they dry up too quickly, so I’m only using this one right now & Its all I need.

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush – This is still the prettiest blusher I own, its looks so cute in the pan, I would say that you need to build this up to get a good colour pay off but I guess it would work well for people that only like to wear a hint of colour on their cheeks. They say this blush is infused with

‘natural plant extracts which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of Endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress’

I don’t know about that but it sounds good and if it works then that’s fine by me. I noticed that this blush also had a little light reflecting quality to it too, making the cheeks look really healthy with a pop of colour. Anything that makes me look a little brighter and healthier is going to get the thumbs up from me.

Rimmel Scandal Eye Shadow Paints in Rich Russet  £6.00 – This is a liquid cream eyeshadow & the colour pay off is incredible. It looks wet when you first apply it & I like to blend it in with my ring finger (so easy to blend). They apply evenly and do not budge once the formula has dried. They look slightly metallic but not glittery, I really like wearing this on its own all over the lid & you can build up the colour to be really intense. I have no idea why i haven’t bough more of these because they are easy to apply, great pigmentation and they wear all day.

bareMinerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder* £21.00 – I haven’t tried too many products from this brand but the few things I have tried are so good. This powder is my new favourite setting powder, it is so finely milled & feels almost like velvet. It never looks too much on the skin and I like that it doesn’t add extra colour, it is a cream colour but it doesn’t show up on the skin, it looks almost translucent. If you like a really matte finish then this might not be for you, it does stop me getting oily throughout the day and does a very good job of keeping my makeup looking fresh and in place. I also like that it gives your skin a silky smooth & helps blur imperfections and it looks so natural. And it won best mineral base in this years InStyle Best Beauty Buys 2015

Korres Lip Butter £8.00 – These are amazing & I have talked about them on my blog so many times but this one in Wild Rose is my favourite Summer lip colour. They’re essentially a lip balm with beautiful pigment. They feel hydrating and soothing on the lips whilst adding great colour, this shade is a pretty berry colour & although I do have to reapply throughout the day the colour is pretty and perfect for days when you want to wear little makeup but still like your lips to have some colour. This will be permanently in my handbag over the coming months.

Seventeen CC Cream in Fair £6.99 – This is a budget friendly tinted moisturiser – I wouldn’t say its amazing at colour correcting but I like my base to look natural and not look to heavy and this does that. It is a creamy formula that can take a little effort to buff into the skin but if you take the time you will get a nice coverage that will stay all day. It gives the skin a matte (ish) finish but with a healthy glow too, after a couple of hours it does start to look more dewy on me but I have quite oily skin & I don’t mind that it does that. It also has SPF 25 so a good lightweight option for Summer.
