I’ve Hit Pan On

I saw Essie Button do a post on ‘Products that have hit pan’ – so I dug mine out and discovered that the’re mostly face powders. There were only 6 products in my collection that  have hit pan. This must mean I don’t wear much makeup or I’ve too many products. Hmmmm I wonder which is true.

1. Mac Select Sheer Pressed Powder in NW25 – This is my goto face powder. I use it on top of my foundation to give a little extra coverage and I love the finish it gives.

2. Pixi Eyeshadow Trio in Miranda – (gutted this is almost finished). I don’t think this is even sold anymore. It’s the old style packaging and I love it too. I’ve completely used up the lightest colour and am almost done with the other 2. It’s such a nice trio and I’ve enjoyed it a lot

3. e.l.f Clarifying Pressed Powder in Rosy Beige – This is just an easy alternative to using my Mac powder. I tend to pop this in my bag if I’m going out as I don’t mind if it gets damaged. It’s a nice powder and does the job.

4. Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light to Medium Bisque – This has been a great investment and I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it. I see such a difference in my under eyes when i have this on. It really makes them a lot brighter. I will be very sad when this runs out. I really recommend this if you suffer from dark or discolouration under the eyes.

5. Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealor Kit in Warm Beige – This is an OK product some days I like it and others it annoys me. I think when my under eyes are a little dehydrated then it really settled in the creases & looks bad but when my skin is OK it looks really good. I’m still undecided as to whether I’m  going to repurchase. What are your thoughts on it?

6. Benefit 10 bronzing and highlighting duo – I use this so much. It is also the only bronzer / highlighter i take on my hols. It’s an old faithful and it never lets me down. I’ve hit pan on the bronzer side but its only a matter of days until I see pan on the highlighter side too. This looks so lovely on the cheeks. I will be re purchasing this for sure.

What products have you hit pan on?

One Fantastic Body Lotion

I received this Burt’s Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion in Organic themed Glossybox a few months ago & like most beauty bloggers I’ve so many body lotions on the go at any one time. So it was a while before I got round to testing this. It’s a 70g sample size and I took it away on my recent trip to Amsterdam and absolutely loved it.

I used it all week, twice a day and my skin was so soft. Even those extra dry patches you can get around your knees and the backs of your arms were lovely and soft after using this. It’s really nice and cool when you put it on and is very easy to rub in. I liked it because it didn’t sit on my skin and found it really sank in and left  it feeling hydrated and nourished. I’m so glad I took it with me. For such a reasonably priced lotion it feels really indulgent.

Now I can’t write a review on this without saying something about its scent because its SO nice. It smells amazing, so rich and fresh it was an absolute pleasure to use. The 70g tube I’ve isn’t full size but is still going strong even after 9 days of using it twice a day. Once it’s ran out I will be most defiantly pick up the full size which is 170g and costs £8.50 on Feel Unique. This is a must have product for me. My skin has never felt or smelt as good :o)

If your quick it’s on sale here for £5.49 with Free Delivery. That’s a big saving

Have you used this lotion? Did you get it in your Glossybox? What other Burt’s Bees products have you tried?

Lovely New Things

Before I went to Amsterdam I’d made a few purchases that I forgot to blog about. So better late than never right. These are the what I bought.

Where I lived before in Dundee they had the worst selection of MUA products on the planet. Its used to drive me mental. I so wanted to see the full collection and instead had to put up with a few things from their £1 range. This did not go down well with me. So you can imagine my delight upon moving to Manchester & discovering the most well stocked MUA stand I’ve ever seen. I was in product heaven & may of even let out a little squeal of delight when I saw it. So excited when I saw this…….

Ok so after I calmed down I picked up two MUA palettes the Undressed palette and the Heaven and Earth palette for £4 each. Both are amazing. I’m sure most of you own them by now. I’m very late to that party. From MUA I also picked up their Eye Primer which I’ve heard lots of good things about which is £2.50.

BarryM had a deal on their nail polish in Superdrug where it was 2 for £5 i picked up the shades Block Orange 301 and Pink Iridescent 264. I had to pick up the orange shade as it was jut such a POP of colour. The pink iridescent is beautiful too and looks great as a glittery top coat. You can’t really go wrong with a BarryM polish.

I also picked up a Accessorize baked eyeshadow in Golden Brown it’s a lovely copper toned colour with a little golden shimmer. It’s quite pretty. I love baked eyeshadow and blushe. I can’t get enough of them.

Then ast but not least was the DiorShow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum and i put the blame for this purchase upon Estee of Essie Button as i watched her YouTube video and she said how AMAzing it was and how long her lashes looked after using this & I though how good can this be. So I bought it in Selfridges for £23 and OMG its bloody amazing. It makes your lashes look super long and defined. I will be doing a whole blog on this little miracle worker so watch this space.

So that was my pre holiday haul – like I needed to be spending any money prior to going to Amsterdam! But I’m really pleased with all my purchases. Have you tried any of these things?

Bombshell from Mac

Last week before I went on my hols I popped in to Mac and  I’d only one thing on my list and that was their lipstick in the colour Bombshell. I fell in love with this on a night out a couple of weeks ago, a friend had it on and it looked so pretty. A frosty deep pink colour, I tried it on & was sold. So I went into Mac focused on picking this up. I know if I allow myself to browse in there  I’ll be tempted to pick up so much stuff.

This is a really pretty pink shade and is in a Frost finish. I find it to be really moisturising and it feels great on my lips. I have terrible dry lips and some finished really gather in the not so nice dry parts of my lips and doesn’t look very nice. But this lipstick doesn’t do that it sits nicely on my lips and gives them a really bright fresh look.

It has a slight gold sheen / shimmer to it and i like it. It makes your lips look bright and makes the colour pop. The lady in Mac did put a pink gloss over the top but that felt too sticky for me although it looked pretty. I know it would annoy me & I’d have licked it off in no time at all. The lipstick on its own is fine for me.

This is only my second Mac lipstick, I’ve only just recently got into lip colour i used to just be a nude lip / lip balm kinda girl but I’m slowly getting a collection of lipsticks / stains now and I know I will be purchasing some more Mac lipsticks in the future esp these Frost ones. They don’t have the best staying power but I think that’s got more to do with the fact that I lick my lips a lot. I think if you left it alone it would stay a good couple of hours without needing topping up. Do you have any recommendations for must have lipsticks from Mac?

I took this with me to Amsterdam and wore it everyday, its great for a summer pop of colour along with a slightly flushed cheek. I have dark hair & eyes but quite a pale complexion and this colour works well to give me a little glow and colour. I can see it being my go to lipstick as it’s so wearable. I’m very pleased with it and glad my friend had it on our night out. Friends are such enablers when it comes to purchasing products. Like I need any encouragement.

Do you own this colour? How do you find it works for you?

You can purchase Bombshell from Mac online for £14 and you get 3g of product.
