Super Toning Body Polish

Balance Me Super Toning Body Polish* £18 for 150ml

In the winter I find my skin looks a little dull and I often neglect to look after it as well, so over the past few months I have been paying more attention to my legs in particular and trying to use body scrubs to keep them looking their best and feeling smooth.

A couple of months ago Balance Me released their Super Toning Body Polish and I have been really enjoying using it.

‘Ground walnut shells and blackberry leaf extract work powerfully together to slough away dead skin cells, encourage cell renewal and feed skin with collagen and elastin-boosting properties while the signature Super Toning spa-inspired blend of naturally active essential oils (juniper, geranium, lavender and bergamot) purify the skin with every polish. The result is fabulously smooth, super slender skin that is firm, deeply detoxed and dimple free’.

I think it feels like a moisturiser with scrubbies in. So not only is your skin getting polished & feels smooth but it also feels moisturised and hydrated. The scrubbies are made of walnut shells so no plastic beads entering the oceans and harming the wildlife. The walnut shells offer just the right amount of exfoliation to help remove the dead skin and help keep your skin feeling so soft without being abrasive.

This is a great product for targeted results, like I said I have been using this on my legs & primarily my thighs as that is where I need the smoothing & toning & they are looking and feeling smooth and soft. There is no quick fix for toning fat (other than exercise & a good diet) but this is an added step that helps those problematic areas feel and look their best.

Let me know if you have tried this body polish or if yo have any other Balance Me recomendations.

St Ives Body Scrub

St Ives Apricot Body Scrub

Ok so lets cut to the chase – I love a good body scrub & have used a fair few over the years. I have been happy with many of them but this purple pot has become my NUMBER 1! It’s my new favourite scrub.

I picked it up in Superdrug the other week, it was half price so I only paid £2.49 — that’s a bargain in my book. I’ve tried a St Ives face scrub before and didn’t really like that. I know some people love it but I wasn’t a fan. But this I’m a HUGE fan off.

This is packed full of pink exfoliating beads & a good amount too. So you get really smooth skin after. Some exfoliators I find don’t have enough beads in & so don’t leave my skin as smooth. It also is a lovely creamy texture which feels like its moisturising too. It smells lovely and fresh – not sweet but really creamy and clean (excuse my crappy explanation). So you get exfoliated & hydrated at the same time. Thats perfect for me.

This is a milder formula aimed at sensitive skin – I haven’t used the original formula so can’t say how this new differs. Other than it must be slightly more gentle being aimed at sensitive skin. I can say that this doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry or red. You don’t need to rub hard to get great results. I’m thrilled with this. I know it’s only a scrub but I’m very happy with it.
