Benefit Birthday Treats

On the 8th of October I celebrated my 36th Birthday, I was away from home in Scotland and received some lovely gifts, cards & birthday wishes. Thank you to everyone who sent me a message, tweet, text it was very sweet of you & I had a lovely day.  I wanted to show you two presents that my brother Gary bought me and I’m so excited as I have had my eye on these since Benefit released them.

Benefit Candy Land Releases

Benefit Beauty Gift Sets 2014

These are both part of Benefits Limited Edition Christmas releases & the whole range is so cute & based on a Candy Land theme. I really wanted the blush palette and it’s even more pretty in real life.

Cheeky Sweet Spot £29.50

For the FIRST-TIME EVER, Benefit’s famous box o’ powders are all together in one cheeky sweet spot’

This cheek palette comes in a cute festive tin, not very practical for travel but still very cute and robust. It comes with 6 of their popular box o’ powders inside and also the highlighter Watt’s Up. I’m so excited because I’ve only tried two of the Benefit Boxed Powders & they’re Dallas & 10 both of which I use all the time and was pleased that neither are in this palette so I get to try 5 more blushes, a bronzer and a gorgeous highlighter. You get,

Dandilion 4g – Ballerina pink brightening face powder with a hint of shimmer

Bella Bamba 5g – Watermelon pink laced with shimmering gold undertones

Sugarbomb 6g – 4 beautiful shimmering shades of peach, soft plum, pink and rose that swirl together to create a gorgeous blush

Hoola 5g – Matte bronzer perfect for a natural sun kissed look

Coralista 5g – Warm coral blush

Rockateur 5g – Rose gold highlighting blush

Watt’s Up! 1.5g – A delicate champagne glow that will give your cheeks a luminous glow

Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot

Benefit Christmas Gift

Benefit Blush Palette

Its just so pretty & I think these will sell out quickly, I’m going to get a lot of use from this palette and especially from Rockateur and Sugarbomb they’re just beautiful. Oh & if you like Bella Bamba it has been discontinued in full size so this is a great way of having it in your collection. Even the mini brush is soft and very good quality & I will save this for when I travel as its the perfect size for my makeup bag. Let me know if you have used any of the products in this palette.

Goodies a Go Go – £19.50

This complete eye kit in a collectible tin includes our world-famous lengthening mascara, 4 long wear powder shadows and a stay-put eye primer’

Benefit Goodies a Go Go

Christmas Benefit Releases

This again is in Sweet Shop themed tin although not as festive looking as the Cheeky Sweet Spot but still so cute. This is a kit for your eyes and has four very wearable neutral eyeshadows, They’re Real Mascara and Stay Don’t Stray Eye Primer. I’m not the biggest fan of the mascara but I know someone who will love it & so I will pass it on to them. I have heard great things about the primer and look forward to testing that out. I tend to wear a primer most days as my eyeshadow always creases if I don’t use one. The long wear eyeshadows are,

Call My Buff 1.2g – Pale shell with shimmer

Thanks A Latte 1.2g – Golden brown with a metallic sheen

Gilt-y Pleasure 1.2g – A golden sand with a metallic finish

Kiss Me I’m Tipsy 1.2g – Spiced brown with a metallic finish

They all feel soft, creamy and are the perfect Autumnal shades. The They’re Real is a deluxe sample 3g & so too is the Stay Don’t Stray 2.5ml. This is a lovely set but Im still slightly more excited about the cheek kit than this one.

The whole of the Benefit Christmas range is so nice and there is something for everyone. I highly recommend the Cheek Kit & I have fallen in love with it already!

Let me know if you have either of these & how you’re finding them so far.

Bargain Beauty Essentials

I’m always running out of the products that are more behind the scenes but that are key to keeping me looking my best. When it comes to these everyday essential items I hate overspending on them. The more I can save on these items the more I have to spend on pretty things like nail polish & lipstick. I love to shop in Wilkinson’s for the essential bits as it is majorly budget friendly, I have shopped there for years and its such an Aladdin’s Cave, it always amazes me what I come out with (often not just beauty bits). I thought I would share with you my latest essentials haul.

Beauty Essentials

They have a huge selection of bits in this section & I bought a fair few things, I did also get some hair grips that I forgot to photograph. I like the packaging, its simple but eye catching. The product I mostly pop in for is cotton wool pads as I use these daily and these Large Oval Cotton Wool Pads are the perfect size for taking off eye makeup. I use one pad for both eyes & they’re really good quality and don’t breakdown, they’re soft and you get 50 for 50p. I stock up on them when I’m in & I buy them for my lovely mum too. Essential Beauty Items

Their face cloths are 100% cotton and I like to use a fresh cloth each day to cleanse off my makeup, so I always have a stack of clean ones. They wash up nice but obviously don’t last forever so I like to buy fresh ones every couple of months. I buy white ones as Caroline Hirons says white is best for telling if you have cleansed off all your makeup, don’t want to leave any behind. These are 33p each. Cotton Face Cloths

Exfoliating Gloves are something I use more in the summer, what with fake tanning & showing a little more flesh I like to keep my skin looking as glowing and smooth as possible and these mitts are great for the shower. I use them at least 4 times a week, they do a great job of exfoliating away the dead skin. It helps that they’re a pretty turquoise shade too. One pair of gloves is £1.00.

Exfoliating Gloves

4 in 1 Nail Buffer – I love these & have found it doesn’t matter if you spend a fortune on these they all do the same job. I use these every time I paint my nails as I like to have smooth nails, otherwise I find nail polish just doesn’t apply as well. These are a must in your nail kit. This was £1.00.

4 in 1 Nail Buffer

If you are as messy as I am when it comes to painting your toes then these Toe Separators are a must. I use them each time I paint my toes and they just help keep them from smudging & its easier to get to each toe. Very handy. These were only 50p, utter bargain.

Beauty Essentials

I go through Hair Bobbles like no ones business, they never stay in my possession very long but at 75p I just pick up a pack each time I’m in the shop. I tend to wear my hair up most days and I like to have a spare bobble with me just incase one breaks. They never last me long, I have the thickest hair & when it’s hot I have to have it up & off my neck.

Hair Bobbles

My cuticles grow back so quickly so I like to have a stash of these Wooden Cuticle Sticks for when I do my at home manicures. I find they do a really good job at pushing them back, I use them with my cuticle gel from Sally Hansen. I try to do them at least once a week otherwise they get a little messy. You get 10 in a pack for 20p

My beauty essentials

Last but not least I bought an Eye Smudger Brush, I hadn’t tried any brushes from Wilko’s before & I don’t think I will be repurchasing any more. It was OK but not great, I found it a little scratchy and not vey good also I think t would be better used to pack the shadow on as its quite dense & there isn’t much movement in the bristles. I think elf brushes are better quality and not much more in price. For £1.00 I had to try it out.

Makeup Brush

Not the most exciting haul but it’s all the essentials and tools that I use often & that need replacing every few weeks / months. No one wants to be wasting money on the mundane items when we could be spending our hard earned money on the luxurious and pretty things. So if you have a Wilkinson’s near you, go in and have a look! Let me know where you purchase your everyday beauty essentials & what you can’t live without.
