Skinn Rosette Eyeshadow Palette

Skinn Rosette Eyeshadow Palette*

This has impressed me the most out of the three products I have been testing from the collection. Its a 12 pan neutral toned palette with a beautiful mix of shades, nothing too bright or out there and every single colour is one I would wear. Which in my opinion makes it great value. It has a nice mixture of matte and shimmers and all the colours are talc free so they’re not drying on the lids. I find these have minimum fall out and they last very well on me – ever longer if you use a primer. I love the copper tones and the beautiful dark brown which looks plum in some lights, all the shades are pigmented and rich in colour. It’s a great palette to travel with, as its slim, sturdy and has a large mirror too. I’m very very impressed with this palette and have been using it a lot these past few weeks.

Skinn Hollywood Nude Lip Palette

I found the consistency of these to be more like a tinted lip balm than a lipstick. The colours are all quite pretty and very wearable shades, but they only give your lips a wash of colour and have more of a gloss finish. I find lip palettes a bit of a faff if I’m honest and I would never reach for this over a lipstick. I would say give this a miss unless you like a simple understated lip look & don’t mind carrying a palette out & about so you can reapply your lip colour.

Skinn say these are Collagen Boost Lipsticks that will drench your lips with collagen-forming ingredients in a creamy, moisture-rich formula – so i guess they’re skincare infused lippies which is interesting. They do feel smoothing and comfortable on my lips, I just felt they were a little too muted and didn’t have enough colour pay off.

Skinn Ultra Luxe Mascara*

This is an ok mascara, I would say middle of the road in terms of quality. There are so many incredible budget-friendly mascaras now so there is tough competition. I found this Ultra Luxe Mascara had quite a wet formula and after a two coats it went a little clumpy. It didn’t really give volume or length to my lashes. I will say that it didn’t transfer or fall down throughout the day. I just felt my lashes didn’t look as good as usual. I think the wand would be better with a few more bristles.

Skinn Ultra Luxe Mascara

So if you get the chance to buy the eyeshadow palette I would say try it & you will get a lot of use out of it. The lip palette wasn’t my thing (but they never are) but if you do like your lipsticks in a palette format then you might be more inclined to use it. Whilst I think the mascara doesn’t hold up to many more affordable brands I have tried, I may be tempted to try one from this brand that has a different brush.

Let me know if you have tried anything from the Skinn Beauty range, I would love to hear your recommendations. I have blogged about their Skincare too if you’d like to read that.

New P.S Love Primark Makeup

Primark Makeup Haul

Its been a pretty long time since my last review of the Primark Makeup range which is called P.S Love (click here for my previous review). They have added quite a few new products to the selection and I was overwhelmed by the choice so I tried to get a selection of different products. So many of the products had been opened & used which wasn’t cool so I had a hard time finding products that were still sealed. I haven’t had much time to play around with everything but I thought I would just initially show you what I bought & put up another post in a couple of weeks letting you know how well it lasted & if I would recommend anything.

PS Love Primark Makeup

PS Love Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayon £1.00

This lip crayon is such a perfect colour for me its in a lovely deep plum shade and it is very pigmented oh & its a matte finish. I wore it for an hour or so and it felt quite comfortable on my lips and the colour looked beautiful. It doesn’t seem to have a scent which is good as often the cheaper options have a waxy scent. I think the shade I bought is perfect for Winter and I am already planning to get a couple more of these, I’m sure I saw a red shade.

Primark Bronzer

PS Love Bronzer £2.50

This looks like a shimmer brick and I do like wearing this kind of bronzer because you get that soft colour from swirling your brush though all the shades and it also acts as a highlighter. It looks quite pretty in the pan and It doesn’t seem to have glitter in which is great news – just a pretty hint of iridescent shimmer. Although when I swatched this not all the colours were intensely pigmented but I am hoping it looks ok on and it might be more subtle which isn’t a bad thing.

PS Love Primark Bronzer

PS Love High Coverage Concealer For Blemishes £1.50

This comes in a sweet little pot & they did have a few shades to pick from, I have the shade ghsdfgh and it feels very creamy and I was surprised at how good the coverage is. I haven’t tested it out for a whole day. I would have to powder over this because it is creamy and I have oily skin but I am excited to see how well this does after a proper day.

PS Love Lift & Curl Mascara £2.00

How cute is the purple packaging? Also the wand is quite similar to the Benefit Roller Lash. I always like testing mascaras that promise to keep a curl because I think thats quite a claim. The formula is quite wet & I don’t think it separates my lashes very well but we will see how well is wears throughout the day. I am hoping I don’t end up with mascara all down my face.

Primark PS Love Makeup Haul

PS Love Liquid Concealer for Undereyes £1.00

This comes in the standard doe foot applicator which I like & find easy to apply under my eyes. It’s a very creamy consistency but not too thick. It was easy to blend out and didn’t look too heavy, I picked quite a light colour and it worked well for my skin. So far I really like this and was surprised at how good the coverage was. I only wore it for a couple of hours and it lasted well. Next time I will apply a little setting powder and see how it fairs over a whole day.

Primark Concealer Swatches

PS Love Eyeshadow Quad £2.50

The last eyeshadows I tried from Primark were not great but these colours looked really pretty so I thought I would give them a go. All four shades have a frosted finish. They look wearable and not overly sparkly but they are quite powdery. I like the both the more bronze shades they are 100% my kind of shades. I am not holding out much hope of them being great but we shall see.

PS Love Eyeshadow Quad

Off the bat I like the concealers and the lip crayon they seem to be good quality. I will have to properly test everything and I think use a primer with the eyeshadows. Let me know if you have tried anything from the Primark Makeup range and what you would recommend.

Eye Öf HÖRUS Makeup

Isis Goddess Eyeshadow Trio

eye of horus makeup

These are the first products I have tried from Australian brand Eye öf Hörus, I have wanted to try their makeup for some time now especially because one of my favourite bloggers Jessica enjoys using their products. I think the first thing you notice about this brand is their beautiful sleek black and gold embossed packaging it looks luxurious and it features Ancient Egyptian symbols and images which I think is really different and interesting. The brand is focused on providing cruelty free, non irritating, long lasting and nourishing products. So I have been trying two products from their range the first being their,

Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara*

Which is probably the product they’re best known for. It comes in a jet black tube with gold lettering, which I really like. This mascara has a plastic wand which is quite flexible and easy to use, the wand feels like it really grips the lashes which separates them and coats each lash with a layer of mascara making them look thick and defined.

Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara

I found the mascara to be have quite a thin formula but buildable on the lashes. You don’t over apply the product because the top of the tube is fantastic for removing excess product from the brush, this means it doesn’t go clumpy on your lashes and you get a good even distribution of product. This mascara contains authentic Moringa Oil which is nourishing and renowned for its restorative and protective benefits.

This is a great everyday mascara and I had it on my lashes for almost 8 hours with out any fall down or smudging. It also holds a curl really well, so if like me your lashes are poker straight this will be ideal for you. So in short I have been loving this mascara and it is jet black which is a must for me. I hate mascaras that promise to be black but are really grey

Eye of Horus isis sun goddess palette

Isis Sun Goddess Palette*  £22.50

This trio of golden bakes shadows are so beautiful, I just love these kinds of colours and I think they are so easy to wear. These feel so buttery and blend like a dream. You get three shades that are perfect for creating a bronzed smoking eye or these can all be worn alone and they look great either way. Oh & these can be used wet or dry which seems to be more of a thing these days, as you would assume if you use them wet the colours are more intense and they last longer so that would be great for an evening look.

Isis Goddess Eyeshadow Trio

Eye of Horus-swatches

Enigma Mist is a light champagne shade which I like to use as a base all over the lid and also on the inner corner just to add some brightness.

Chalice Bronze is a beautiful intense bronze shade with a metallic finish, this looks so good on the lid and it wears well throughout the day too.

Sacred Husk is a golden brown and it really reminds me of Mac Amber Lights but the colour is richer and the texture is so buttery. This is my favourite shade in the trio.

Three very wearable colours and they look effortless and pretty on the lid.

Isis Sun Goddess Trio

This is such a beautiful palette and the quality is up there with Inglot, which are my all time favourite shadows. They wear really well and the colours are beautiful and easy to work with. The packaging is sleek and slim and is the perfect size to have in your makeup bag or for travel.

Eye of Horus products are wax and oil based, paraben-free, great for sensitive eyes and not tested on animals and certified Vegan friendly.

Ready To Wear Makeup Review

Ready To Wear Makeup Ready to Wear Mascara and Eyeliner

I have been using two products from a brand called Ready To Wear Beauty which as of this January is being sold on Ideal World TV. Its an American makeup brand which I had never heard of before. They seem to have quite a selection of natural wearable makeup and I was kindly sent a Mascara and Eyeliner to try out.

Ready To Wear Beauty Precision Eyeliner in black*

This eyeliner has a very fine nib, as the name suggests its really good for achieving that thin & close to the lashes precision liner. I like to wear eyeliner most days but don’t always want a dramatic thick liner look so I tend to use a liner that has a precise nib. I found with this liner that the nib wasn’t quite long enough for me, I prefer a little more length so I can lay it flat along the lash line & almost print on first where I want to draw the line & that was hard to do with a short nib.

I did like how precise the nib was & that it didn’t blunt or go soft. The liner glided on & didn’t drag but I did find the product sunk into the wrinkles / creases on my eyelid (so it didn’t sit very well). If you go back over with the liner a few times it helps but if this is meant to be a ‘Ready To Wear’ eyeliner I would have liked it to apply a little better first time round.

Also I wouldn’t say this eyeliner was an intense black, if like me you like your liner to be jet black this isn’t for you. It does last all day without transferring or smudging so thats a plus. I just wasn’t won over by the liner, it has a few great things about it but it just didn’t sit very well on my eyelids & the colour wasn’t black enough for me.

Ready To Wear Beauty

Ready To Wear Mascara*

This is perfect for achieving natural fluttery eyelashes. This isn’t a mascara that will make your lashes look fake or give them length but it does coat each individual lash and gives the illusion you have thicker lashes. Its quite a wet formula and it doesn’t clump or flake throughout the day and you don’t get crispy lashes. It was also good at holding a curl which I really liked.

The wand was quite big & picked up every lash, it was easy to work right down to the bed of the lashes. I have really enjoyed using this & its been in my makeup bag for a few weeks now. So if you’re looking for a black mascara that looks quite natural & which you can wear on a daily basis this is a winner.

No eye makeup

With no eye makeup other than a touch of cream eyeshadow & in the after photos below I have the eyeliner & mascara on. I need to get better at perfecting my cat eye flicks.

With eyeliner & mascaraReady to wear eye makeup

So I loved the Ready To Wear Beauty mascara but I would say to give the eyeliner a miss unless you have youthful eyelids with no creasing or wrinkles. Let me know if you’ve heard of this brand or have tried anything from them. I would love to hear your recommendations.

I have my eye on their lipstick trio and think the colours look subtle & pretty. Right up my street.
