Feelunique Best of Beauty Box

Feelunique Best of Beauty Box

It seems like Beauty Boxes are really making a comeback in 2017, I felt like they started to feel very same same as so many beauty box companies were including identical products. There was very little variety and that, for me, led to them not being exciting to receive. That being said the few boxes I’ve had this year have been well put together and I have discovered some fantastic brands. So Feelunique have introduced Powered by Feelunique which offers a stellar line-up of carefully curated Beauty boxes.

I have been testing out their latest release the Universal Beauty Box which contains a really great selection of makeup from all corners of the globe, with everything from a vegan and halal certified eyeliner to a finishing powder suitable for all skin tones and types. It is an exciting mixed bag of products, none of which I have used before and quite a few brands are also new to me.

Best of Beauty Box from Feelunique

I am very excited about trying the Nude by Nature Translucent Powder and I am hoping this is going to help keep my makeup in place as well as give me that soft focus finish. The powder feels very finely milled so I think it will be quite lightweight on the skin. The packaging is very practical too, it has a mesh which acts like a cushion and only allows a small amount of powder through at a time so if like me you are super clumsy and mineral products can often get quite messy this will help with wastage and spillage. You get a whopping 10g of product and loose powders always last me such a long time.

NEW Feelunique Best of BeautyBox

The Bourjois Rouge Edition Souffle De Velvet Lipstick is in a stunning red shade, I like that it’s quite sheer (but buildable) and has a velvet matte finish. I really think this red would look great on everyone. Very excited to try this and take it away with me to Amsterdam.

I love trying out new mascara and I have heard mixed reviews about this Elizabeth Arden Lasting Impression Mascara. The wand is quite big but tapered and it promised to grab every lash helping separate, lift and lengthen. So I like the sound of that. The formula contains Ceramides (1,3, and 6) plus vitamin C to help reinforce and restore lashes natural protective barrier. Avocado and olive oils condition lashes and help seal moisture while building length for a defined, silky lash look. Its a decent travel size and I am looking forward to seeing how I get on with it.

Universal Makeup Best of Beauty Box from Feelunique

The contents of this box are worth £75 but it is RRP £28! Out of the 6 products in this box 4 are full sized and the other 2 are deluxe samples, so that is incredible value for money. Let me know if you have tried any of the Feelunique Best of Beauty Boxes & if you are planning on treating yourself to this latest release.

FYI – The small Caudalie sample is not included in this beauty box, it snuck in there whilst I was taking photos & I completely forgot about it.

GlossyBox August 2017

August 2017 GlossyBox

August 2017 GlossyBox

For those of you that aren’t aware of what GlossyBox is, it’s a subscription box and each month, you get a diverse selection of 5 beauty treats that includes niche, high-end and emerging brands. The products are quite often full size or deluxe samples, it is a great way of discovering new brands and getting a beauty treat right to your door each month.

So the August GlossyBox* is a collectors edition and it’s a beauty, the packaging is a sweet blue colour and has the text Girls Just Wanna Have Sun. As you may have guessed, the August theme is Summer and I’m impressed with the contents as you get 3 full-sized products. I also like that the products included are not your typical Summer options and I’m excited to try everything.

Essence live laugh celebrate palette

Essence Essence Live Laugh Celebrate Palette

Long time readers of my blog will know I can’t say enough good things about this brand, Essence for me are the best affordable brand out there, their products are fantastic quality and their range is entirely Vegan. The most exciting product in this months box (for me) is the new Live Laugh Love Palette. This is a 4 pan customisable palette and you can add your eyeshadows, highlighters and blushers to make your own perfect palette. So with the August GlossyBox you get the empty palette and 2 eyeshadow shades, a highlighter and a cute blusher so you can create a complete look.

The pans click in & out with a practical click-mechanism so you can interchange them depending on your mood / needs. The packaging is beautiful and fun, it feels very sturdy and you have 20 eyeshadows, 3 blushers and 3 lip powders. With the palette and each pan costing only £1.50 each you can make yourself a very affordable palette full of your favourite shades.

Model Launcher Cosmetics Safari Sun Bronzer £16.50

What Summer makeup bag is complete without that perfect bronzer? I have never heard of this brand before but I’m loving the animal print look, it is so fun. This bronzer adds just enough warmth to the skin to give you that sun-kissed beach vibe and it is talc free and mineral enriched so perfect for even the most sensitive of skins. With this kind of multi tonal product I just swirl my brush across all shades ensuring I get a little of each colour then sweep it on where the sun would naturally hit.

Valquer Ice Hair Mask £14.99

Often when we are on holiday our hair suffers the brunt of its drying effects so I am happy to see a hair mask in this months box – got to keep our hair looking glossy and healthy. This hair mask is for use on damp hair leaving it to work its magic for 3 – 5 minutes then rinse with warm water (easy peasy). This energizing mask has a cooling effect which is ideal for Summer and it is also enriched with macadamia oil to hydrate and tame your dry holiday hair. I have never tried this brand but I do like a good hair mask so this is coming on holiday with me for sure.

Batiste Dry Shampoo & Conditioner Orange and Pomegranate £4.49

This isn’t your average dry shampoo – nope, Batiste have created a 2 in 1 Dry Shampoo & Conditioner which they say will refresh your roots and condition the lengths. I am an almost daily dry shampoo user so I’m intrigued to see what difference the conditioner makes to how soft and clean my hair feels. The scent of this is 100% Summer in a can, it is so fruity and sweet.  This is just a mini can but they’re always very handy to take with you in your handbag or on holiday.

Rodial Suede Lips

Rodial Suede Lips £22

I’m very partial to a lip crayon, they are my ideal no fuss lip option. This Rodial one is in the shade Big Apple and has a matte finish but don’t panic, thanks to the vitamin E in the formula it isn’t at all drying. I have to say although I really like this product, I wouldn’t say it is your typical Summer shade. It is quite a deep mauve brown and I feel it is more of an Autumnal shade, so I might just keep it for my Autumn makeup switch up.

Whats in the August 2017 GlossyBox

So all in all I am over the moon with this months box, it has some well-known brands included as well as a couple that are new to me. It is not often that I’m excited about every product but I’m actually going to use all 5 beauty products from this box and not pass anything on to family or friends. So if you want this months box you best be quick as I think it will be a popular one.

My Little Box January 2017

My Little Box Jan 2017

My Little Box Jan 2017

Quite often subscription boxes can feel quite underwhelming and a little repetitive but I have recently been introduced to My Little Box and they have reignited my curiosity of the subscription box.

‘Created in Paris, My Little Box brings a monthly selection of French-inspired fashion, beauty, and lifestyle picks right to your door. With a surprise theme every month, each box promises to bring a touch of Parisian chic to the lucky recipient’

This is a lifestyle box so you get a nice mix of treats inside which I really like. This is their January Box and it is focused around having a ‘Fresh Start’  and being focused on what you want to achieve. Its a very positive box which included a sweet illustrated card included with a lovely positive message. It seems My Little Box always includes these pretty illustrations and they’re nice enough to frame and keep.

My Little Box Fresh Start

In the January Box you get 4 beauty related products and 2 more lifestyle additions.  So the two lifestyle bits in the box are my favourite and they’re, a very pretty snood and a gorgeous planner to help you you organised for the year ahead. I know that most months the products arrive in a box but this month they have put all your goodies into a beautiful tote style draw string bag. This is going to get a lot of use from me, I find these so handy to travel with and to organise bits and bobs.

The snood is a pretty dark blue with a taupe pattern running through. It feels soft and is a good colour for getting a lot of wear from. I always wear a scarf so is this right up my street, although I think my Mum has her eye on it too. It’s a nice size & I am able to wrap it round twice and it still is comfortable to wear. Very happy to have this in my box.

The beauty products included are mostly all from My Little Box, which I don’t mind too much but it would have been nice to have a little variety. They included, a hand cream, body lotion, toothpaste (by Merci Handy) and a tiny sachet of Garnier conditioner.

I will pop the hand cream into my handbag, you can never have too many tubes on the go! During the colder months I do tend to moisturise more so the body lotion will get used up before too long but the Toothpaste isn’t that exciting to me nor the Garnier sachet but on the whole I do like the January Box & I am looking forward to seeing what My Little Box have in store for February.

My Little Box Timeless Planner

My Little-Box Contents Jan 2017

The Timeless Planner is my favourite thing in this months box (bag) I like the illustrations & positive messages throughout but I also like that it doesn’t have any dates in there, you’re free to start it when you like or customise it to your needs. Its fantastic quality and it is more that just a diary. I’m looking forward to using it.
