Origins KissZing Lip Crayons

Origins KissZing Selection

Origins KissZing

These KissZing Lip Crayons from Origins are a relatively new release & only hit counters in mid-February. So just in time for Spring. They come in 6 wearable colours.

Origins KissZing Selection

I have been using the shade Rosemance which is a soft nude rose shade. It gives your lips a pinch of colour & looks natural and pretty. The formula is quite creamy and glides on effortlessly, feels hydrating on the lips but not greasy at all. There is a glossy finish to this lip crayon and I think these make the perfect everyday lip product. They give your lips a pretty wash of colour, have a nice glossy finish & have lots of skincare benefits too – so they look after your lips as well as making them look pretty. That’s a win-win situation.

Origins KissZing Rosemance

All the Origins KissZing Lip Crayons have these lovely ingredients to help keep your lips smooth, hydrated & looking their best.

Meadowfoam Seed – Which has anti-oxidant properties & helps keep skin soft and nourished.

Jojoba Oils – Which helps soothe dry irritated skin and is very gentle.

Mango Seed Butter Which is rich in antioxidants, vitamin A and E.

Shea Butter – Which is very popular in skincare as it is a very effective moisturiser. So it prevents moisture loss and leaves skin soft.

Origins say these crayons have a scent of mint & vanilla, I do smell a hint of mint but it is so subtle.

I really like the shade I have & think Rosemance is not only a lovely name but a really pretty shade too. It’s subtle & the kind of colour you could wear anywhere & anytime. I think these KissZing Lip Crayons will be perfect for Spring because they’re hydrating and give your lips a gorgeous effortless wash of colour.

Let me know which of the six shades you think would suit you best. I have my eye on Peach Peck.

I did include Rosemance in my Lip Crayon Collection post last month if you’d like to take a look.

Glo & Ray Makeup

Glo & Ray Makeup

Glo & Ray Makeup

Glo & Ray are a new discovery for me, it is a British made brand (which I like) and they made their debut in 2012 so they’re still quite a young brand. Although relatively young their products have been so well received and have quite a following so I was excited to try out a few products from their range.

All three of the products I have been trying have the sleekest, sophisticated black packaging. They look & feel expensive and really good quality. You’re not frightened or hesitant to throw these products into your makeup bag & take with you on the go. I have had the lippie in my handbag for weeks & the cap never comes off & the packaging is holding up very well indeed.

Glo & Ray Makeup Packaging

Glo & Ray Mariposa Golden Dunes Quartet Eyeshadow*  £12.50

These shadows look gorgeous in the pan and they scream Summer bronzed makeup to me. I love that sun-kissed beach look in the warmer months & this is the quad for achieving that look. The shadows are soft and easy to apply, the lightest cream shade is a little harder to work with and not very pigmented but it still gives you enough colour and brightens up the lid. The metallic grey shade is also quite light that doesn’t let this palette down as the gold & bronze shades are utterly gorgeous and are beautiful worn alone or as a more intense smokey eye.

I have been wearing the bronze shade on its own quite a lot with a touch of the lightest cream just in the inner corner. All the colours are long wearing and I found you can build them up without them looking powdery or getting fall out under the eye.  Packaging as I said is lovely and sleek, and there is a good sized mirror inside which is so handy.

Glo & Ray MakeupGlo & Ray Lipstick in Freeze

Glo & Ray La Amo Creamy Matte Lip Colour in Freeze* £12.00

This is a very pigmented matte nude lipstick. If you’re into the Kylie Jenner lip look which is popular at the moment then you will love this colour. It has a slight rosy tint to it which really warms up my face. Although it is matte it doesn’t feel drying, it has a slight sheen to it when you first apply it.

Lipsticks never wear very long on me but this lip colour did a great job of staying put & even after drinking a few cups of tea I had a good even coverage still on my lips. This wouldn’t have been a colour I would have picked for myself but I have to say I am converted to a nude lip now.  The packaging has a magnetic closure which is a nice touch and the sleek black packaging with simple white lettering looks grown up and expensive.

Glo & Ray Golden Dunes Eyeshadow QuadGlo & Ray Blush in Stardust

Glo & Ray Nuage Solo Blush in Star Dust£11.00

Well, I wasn’t expecting this to be as stunning as it is. It is a beautiful peachy pink with an iridescent finish. This will be my Spring / Summer blush of choice as it adds a fresh bright colour to the cheek which lifts your whole face and makes you look healthy and glowing.

The updated formula of our Nuage blush contains Refractive Crystals for a multi-dimensional look.

I think it is quite a good dupe for NARS Deep Throat Blush, although I think the Glo & Ray one is prettier. It is so buttery and pigmented, there is no shimmer in it so don’t worry about looking like a disco ball. This has been a gorgeous addition to my makeup bag & I want to try more of these solo blushes as they come in a pretty range of colours.

Glo & Ray Stardust Blush

L-R Star Dust Blush / Freeze Matte Lip Colour / Golden Dunes Quartet Eyeshadow

I think this is a brand to keep your eye on in 2015. I have seen quite a few reviews of their Balloon Pop Eyeliner Set & they look beautiful and pigmented. Let me know if you have tried anything from this brand and if you have any recommendations for products I should try.

MeMeMe Long Wear Satin Lip Cream

Trio of Lipsticks

MeMeMe are a brand I’m familiar with & have a number of their products in my collection, their Shimmer Stack in Bronze is a particular favourite of mine and so too is their Flawless Cream Foundation. MeMeMe offers quality products at affordable drugstore prices. Their products look and feel luxurious & they have been adding lots of new products to their range but perhaps more excitingly, they now sell internationally. So if you’re outside the UK you can get your hands on their range.

Me Me Me Lipsticks

Me Me Me Lipsticks

More recently I’ve enjoying using these beautiful Long Wear Satin Lip Creams* and thought it was about time I let you know all about them.  All three shades I have come in chic black packaging & the bullets themselves feel luxurious & sturdy. These Satin Lip Creams all apply so easily on the lips, no tugging or clinging to dry patches. They apply like a lip balm and feel very comfortable, smooth and hydrating.

  • Persian Pink – A true nude shade
  • China Rose – A dusky nude pink
  • Hot Magenta – A very bright pink with blue undertones

These lipsticks are enriched with Shea Butter & Vitamin E so they will keep your lips moisturised and feeling smooth. I will say that they’re very buttery and so bear that in mind when applying, you don’t need to press too hard otherwise you’ll apply too much product & I have heard a few people say their lipstick snapped. Just be gentle.

Another thing that may put some people off is the vanilla scent, I don’t mind it & think it smells quite nice but I know vanilla / sweet scents aren’t for everyone.

These have a nice glossy sheen to them & look beautiful on. With them being lip creams they don’t have massive staying power, they do last about 2-3 hours but if you eat / drink you may want to touch up. I found the Hot Magenta needed re applying a little more than the more neutral colours but that might just be because it’s brighter & more noticeable when it starts wearing off.

Hot Magenta is a beautiful bright colour but I did find it a little more tricky to wear, but it is a cute party colour & it might just be my Festive Party Lipstick of choice, I think It will look cute. Its not a colour I would wear during the day (but I’m a wimp when it comes to bright shades). Persian Pink & China Rose are both everyday colours I would say China Rose works better with my pale complexion and it made me look put together but still a nice natural subtle colour & its the shade I have had in my handbag. It definitely my favourite of the 3.

In terms of being long wear, I wouldn’t say these are a particularly great example of that but they are very wearable, pretty lipsticks that may need reapplying every 3 hours or so.

The Long Wear Satin Lip Cream comes in 10 shades & cost £8.50 each

Sophisticated Nudes

I like bright nail polish as much as the next person. In fact nail polish is probably the only time I do experiment with bright colours as my clothes tend to be dark/neutral & so to does my makeup. Alsough saying that my nude nail polishes get a lot of love, they are so easy to wear & I like that they look pretty and understated. I have picked out my favourite 6 nudes to share with you.

Nude Nail Polish

A.K.A in Soft Mink*

This is a lilac toned brown and has a lovely glossy finish. If You’re in a hurry you can get away with one coat. Its the perfect evening nude shade as it is quite a dusky colour & the darkest of the nudes I have.

Nails Inc in Basil Street

Nails Inc Polishes are such good quality and apply really nicely on the nail, not streaky at all. I apply two coats of this and it looks fresh and I think it looks like Caramel. Very pretty indeed

Nails Inc in Porchester Square

Nails Inc class this as one of their Hero Shades & best selling colours, I can see why this is the perfect soft latte coloured nude.

Favourite nudes

MUA shade 19

I was surprised by the quality of this nail polish as it only costs £1, it is a very pretty light brown nude colour. You will need to apply 2 coats of this & a top coat is a must but the colour is subtle but pretty & I have worn it a lot.

Topshop in Barefoot

I love love love this colour, it is a gorgeous pink toned nude & it looks very pretty with a tan on both your fingers & toes. I adore this shade and always get compliments when I wear it.

Models Own in Utopia

This is such a classic blogger polish, I wear this quite a lot too. It makes a very good base for glitter polish as the colour is so subtle. I think it has a slight lilac undertone on me & I like that.
