Shopping My Makeup Stash Jan 17

As I said in a previous post 2017 is the year I’m going to only keep products that I 100% love. So I thought shopping my stash would be a great way of rotating my makeup and either rediscovering old favourites or realising there is a reason you’ve not reached for something in a while and thats when it’s time to pass it on.

Vichy Dermablend 3D Correction Foundation

This foundation has such a creamy formula, although don’t be scared into thinking that it is going to be too heavy or greasy on the skin. It is lovely to blend and gives a medium coverage but you are able to build up to more of a full coverage. It covers all those blemish scars, redness and dark patches that you might otherwise use concealer on. This takes care of them all with ease. I’m pretty happy to have rediscovered this. I have the shade 25 Nude and that is a great match for my skin over the Winter months.

The Body Shop All in One Concealer in 00

This is meant as a concealer but I have quite a peachy shade which I find  works really well to brighten my under eye area. It’s not the best colour match to use on blemishes but it can be good to brighten dark, old blemish scars and the coverage is very good. I like how creamy the formula is and because its so creamy it blends nicely. I always over look stick foundations / concealers but this one has made me think twice. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends these past few weeks so I am loving having this in my makeup bag to help me appear more awake and bright eyed. The formula also contains Vitamin E and Community Trade Marula Oil, so it is lovely and hydrating

Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil

2016 saw Benefit do a massive overhaul of their brow range and add so many exciting new additions to the collection & I have been using the Goof Proof pencil on and off for a couple of months. I do like the angled tip so you can easily sweep it across your brows filling in any sparse patches and It lays down a good amount of colour without feeling too overdone. I have started to get my brows waxed again as they were looking a little unkempt and so I’m excited to use this more in 2017. I might get a lighter shade too just for more of a subtle daytime brow

Rimmel Magnif'Eye Palette

Rimmel Magnif’Eye Palette in London Nudes Calling*

OK so this isn’t old but I haven’t used it since it was sent to me back in December. I haven’t been wearing too much makeup over the festive holidays but I have dug this out and I fully intend to use it a lot. This is full of rich neutral colours that are 100% me, you get 8 wearable shades and a mix of shimmer and matte shades. They apply with a little fall out but nothing that can’t be tidied up after.

Rimmel Magnif'Eye Palette

Shopping My Stash Makeup Swatches

Lacura Concealer Pen

This is part of Aldi’s makeup collection and it has almost run out, I have had it for quite a few months though. Its a click pen with a brush applicator (much like the cult beauty favourite YSL Touche Le Clait) I like to use it on my eyelids as a corrector and a primer and also under my eyes to brighten dark circles. I use a beauty blender as I find it gives a nice even finish and for a budget option the coverage is pretty good. I will be repurchasing it when it runs out.

Lord & Berry Crayon Lipstick in Prelude

I mostly wear lip crayons as I just find them so convenient and easy to apply. Lord & Berry do some beautiful lip products and I used this quite a lot during last summer, I am pleased to have rediscovered it. Its a gorgeous rosy brown shade, a perfect everyday colour. It has a soft, creamy matte finish and I love how long it wears. I have put this straight into my handbag and it will be my Jan / Feb lip option.

Rimmel The Kate Sculpting Palette

Rimmel The Kate Sculpting Palette in Coral Glow*

How pretty does this trio of face powders look? I love the touch of rose gold they’ve included around the edge of the lid. The highlight shade is a champagne shade but its a little on the light side, I think this could have been more radiant. However the contour and blush shade are more pigmented and although the contour is a little on the warm side all is not lost because I have been using it more as a bronzer and I its perfect for that. The blush shade is a gorgeous matte coral pink, very flattering colour. I am looking forward to using this a little more, I think this trio is idea for travel or your on the go makeup bag as the packaging is compact and sturdy.

Shopping My Makeup Stash August 2016

I have been de clutering my makeup stash for the past few weeks & the positive side to that is finding product you forgot you had. So I have been shopping my stash again, if you don’t already do this, I highly recommend it. Its nice to rotate your makeup so you’re not always using the same things.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo[+] Unifiant*

I have only just posted about this & its not a product that I have rediscovered, instead this is quite a new release and one that I have fallen in love with already. Its an extension of the already very popular Effaclar range from La Roche Posay they have added mineral pigments to give you a lovely even coverage. They currently only have 2 colour options & I have the lightest but this feels beautiful on the skin, very lightweight and lets your skin breath. I am excited to keep using it as I have been getting a few blemishes around my jawline and I am hoping this helps cover them and also clear them up a little quicker.

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre in Seduction

I am 100% not a lipgloss wearer, I only own two (which for a makeup junkie is quite impressive) this Charlotte Tilbury offering is simply beautiful. It gives my lips the perfect sheen and the colour payoff is impressive, also it has good staying power for a gloss. This is a pretty nude pink shade and I think its a nice everyday colour, every positive thing you have heard about these glosses is so true. They’re comfortable, great quality and this shade is pigmented. I am excited to rediscover this, I don’t wear much on my lips in the Summer, apart from a lipbalm with SPF, so I am excited to wear a few more autumnal shades.

Essence Make Me Brow

LOVE this product, it is comparable to the Benefit Gimme Brow and this brown shade is a perfect match for my dark brows. It gives them a good amount of colour and covers any sparse areas and keeps them in place too. The brush is small and helps you to be precise with the product and only £2.50 everyone should add this to their makeup bag. Again as we head into Autumn I tend to fill my brows in a little darker and I will be reaching for this a lot more.

bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer

This is an incredible concealer, it has such a fluid consistency which makes a little go a long way and also means it feels very hydrating. I do have quite a few lines around my eyes and if my concealer is to heavy or drying it sinks in to them, this is one of the best concealers for not doing that. Thats not to say that after a long day its still 100% in place but it does stay in place for a very long time and its doesn’t accentuate my problem areas. Its great at brightening and offers good coverage for dark circles and redness too. This will be coming with me to my brothers wedding later this month as I know I can rely on it to coverup any imperfections.

Shopping My Makeup Collection August 2016

Rimmel Blush in 050 Live Pink

These are the sweetest little blushers & super affordable too. I have also been neglecting my blusher drawer since getting the Zoeva Blush Palette and I have not really used anything else. This is an easy to wear soft pink shade with a pretty of gold sheen. Its quite pigmented but not too bold, I love how tiny it is & I’m thinking I might take it to Amsterdam with me. Let me know what Rimmel Blush is your favourite

INIKA Mineral Foundation

I have been using my Jurlique Rose Silk Powder a lot over the Summer because its translucent and doesn’t give me any added coverage. As we head into the cooler days I do like to wear a powder that gives coverage too, the INIKA Mineral Foundation is a beautifully lightweight loose powder and I use it to set my foundation on days when I want my makeup to look flawless. This can be worn as your foundation and its really natural but also offers a good amount of coverage but as I said I enjoy using this as my setting powder & it does an amazing job. I have had this pot for over a year & I have used it a fair amount over that time and I still have so much product left. I am very excited to use this again. Oh & this is available in 8 shades.

LOreal Eyeshadow Quad in Eau de Rose

L’Oreal Eyeshadow in Eau de Rose

I have so many nice palettes that I very rarely use my smaller quads or single shadows very often and when I first bought this a few years ago I used it all the time. I love the dark mauve shade in this quad, its such a rich shade and you know its the perfect Autumnal shadow. All the colours in this quad are pretty, the lighter colours are nice worn alone all over the lid if you want more of a subtle look, or you can go to town and smoke it up with that beautiful deep shade. I love the packaging of this too & the way the shadows are all slotted together, the colours look so pretty together in the pan. I am very pleased to have this in my everyday makeup bag.

La Roche Posay Unifiant / bareMinerals Concealer / Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre / Rimmel Blush

Givenchy Mascara

Givenchy Phenomen`Eyes Mascara

This isn’t a rediscovery either, I’m just trying to use it up. It is the perfect case of not needing to splash out on a high-end mascara because price doesn’t always reflect quality. This is a very black mascara but i’d say that is the only positive thing I can say about it. The wand is just odd, the ball makes it very strange to use, and very hard to get used too. The formula smudges too, don’t use this on your bottom lashes at all as it ends up transferring so badly. I would recommend any of the Lancome or Marc Jacobs mascaras over this, if you want a high-end option but we all know that the drugstore options are incredible too! Not a fan of this at all.

What makeup products have you rediscovered this month.

June 2016 Shopping My Satsh

Shopping My Makeup Stash June 2016

I love doing these Shopping My Stash posts each month, I discover makeup that has been neglected & forgotten about & fall in love with it all over again. These are my rediscoveries this month & I can’t wait to see everything.

Rodial BB Venom Skin Tint

During the warmer months I always reach for a lightweight base, thats not to say this Rodial BB Skin Tint doesn’t offer a good amount of coverage because it does but it feels extremely comfortable and lightweight on my skin. This is a great natural looking base that wears very well throughout the day and having quite a few foundations I seem to go through phases and this BB Cream had been pushed to the back of the drawer but Summer is here (in Cornwall anyway) and I will be wearing this on the days I want coverage but also a nice fresh, glowing finish.

bareMinerals BareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer

I don’t think I have used a concealer as good as this one, its amazing coverage, hydrating and so easy to blend. I like that it brightens whilst covering dark circles and it has a lovely lightweight consistency. I’ve been trying to use up a few half finished concealers and so I hadn’t reached for this one in a while. I’m thrilled to have it back in my makeup routine & if you’re in the market for a new concealer then I highly recommend this one.

Comfort Zone Eyeshadow Palette

BareMinerals Pop Of Passion Lip Oil Balm

I haven’t been wearing much makeup everyday but I do like a little colour on my lips & these bareMinerals Lip Oil Balms feel like you’re wearing a lip balm but they still have a really good amount of colour. I have been wearing the more neutral Blushing Passion shade quite a lot and thought it was time for more of a brighter Summery colour & Pink Passion is a perfect sweet pink shade. This is going straight into my handbag & I can’t wait to wear it.

Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette

LOVE LOVE LOVE this palette and I can’t believe Its been so neglected. I haven’t used this in so long, (I blame my out of control eyeshadow collection), I have looked this out & will only be using this all month long. It has 8 gorgeous shadows and they’re richly pigmented and just the best quality. You would never know this was a $3 palette, its up there in my top palettes. If you can get your hands on one of these you must add it to your collection, I promise you won’t regret it.

Rodial BB Venom Skin Tint

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

It’s not a secret that Roller Lash is my favourite Benefit Mascara, in fact its up there in my top 3 mascara’s of all time. I love that it separates my lashes, holds a curl like no other and makes them look fluttery. I get no clumping or smudging throughout the day, it is jet black too! I forgot I had a fresh, unopened tube in my drawer so I am excited to have this as my mascara over the next couple of months. I think the packaging of this is just super sweet too.

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Moray

I have quite a few of these Stila Eyeliners, I really like the colourful shades. This green one had been totally forgotten about and I swatched it the other day & thought how well this would go with the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette. It is a pretty deep green and has a touch of shimmer running through. These eyeliners glide on & are easy to smudge out but also stay pigmented for hours.

June 2016 Shopping My Satsh

Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick in Formentera*

This is a beautifully packaged cream cheek tint and if Summer isn’t the perfect time to use this then I don’t know when is. It is a pretty sun kissed rose shade and I think its a great shade for my quite pale complexion. I’m aways a little scared of cream products but this is just too beautiful to sit looking pretty in my makeup collection. I have been watching YouTube videos on how best to apply, blend and wear this product & I am ready to use it, A LOT! Oh & this has the most delicious vanilla scent, I haven’t smelt a makeup product quite like it.

Shopping My Beauty Stash December 2015

Shopping My Beauty Stash December 2015

I love rummaging through my stash each month and switching up products, its such a great way to rediscover old gems and also use products you’d completely forgot about. So these are the products I have added to my current makeup drawer,

HD Brows Quad in Foxy

This was in a Glossybox quite a while ago and I used it a lot when I first got it, I really only use one of the shades & that is Warm Brown it was a good colour match for my brows. Then after I bought Benefit Gimme Brow this quad was pushed to the back of my collection. I do like filling in my brows but I am quite lazy so wouldn’t do it daily and that’s why I love Gimme Brow so much (its so easy & quick to use). I will try and use this HD Brow Quad more this month, I might try and depot the other colours & pass them on to people that will use them. Seems a waste to only use up one colour.

Clarins Skin Perfecting BB Cream SPF25

Oh I do love this base, it wasn’t forgotten about but I have so many base products that its hard to use them all up. This Clarins BB Cream gives my skin such an even and healthy look, its formula feels lightweight on the skin but still offers a good amount of coverage without feeling or looking too heavy (if that makes sense). Its so easy to blend and over the Winter months it tends to be slightly dark for me so I mix it up with a little of the Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator and that makes it just the perfect shade. This BB Cream has SPF25 so its a great everyday option.

Essence Blush Silky Touch Blush in Babydoll

I must make a confession that I don’t always wear blush I find that my cheeks are always a little pink and flushed and I don’t want to look too much like Aunt Sally. When I do wear blusher I like a subtle soft pinky peach colour and think they suit me best, I had totally forgot I had this beautiful Essence blush and thought I should show it a little love. Its a nice dusty pink shade, very soft and natural. I am excited to get some wear out of this & I love Essence makeup, its so affordable and incredible quality.

Shopping My Beauty Stash December 2015

Chanel Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Safari

I have three of these mono shadows and I love them, this is in the shade Safari and its a beautiful taupe with a slight shimmer. Its a really easy colour to wear alone all over the lid, Its subtle but pretty. The eyeshadow is easy to blend and lasts so long on my lids. I’m pleased to have this back in my everyday makeup bag and I will be using it a lot over the upcoming weeks. I also like the classic Chanel packaging and its such a pretty product to have in my collection

L’Oreal Colour Riche L’Ombre Pure Eyeshadow in Golden Nude

I have a couple of these single shadows and they’re all beautiful I would say this golden shade is the one I have used the least. I think thats because its not a shade I would wear daily but its so pretty and I wish I had found it in December so I could have used it in my Christmas Party makeup look. This shadow is so silky and buttery and the golden colour looks almost metallic and wet on the lid, it reflects the light which makes it so much more intense. Excited to have a play with this colour again.

Collection Lip Butter in Vintage Rose

These lip butters are so affordable and I love this colour. I have been wearing more berry shades over the past few weeks so this is a welcomed addition to my daily makeup bag. I find this soft peachy pink, is quite a subtle colour, but you can build it up to be more pigmented and bold. It makes my lips look healthy and brightens up my face. It is the perfect everyday shade, the formula is creamy and glossy on the lips.

Shopping My Makeup Stash December 2015

Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot

I always use a powder and have a few that I love and are on rotation this Soap & Glory one was my absolute go to powder in 2014 but I seem to have neglected it this past year. I must have used it a lot though because I have hit pan on it. I do get oily and this is great at keeping shine at bay, its lightweight and translucent so its not going to add any more colour to your base. Maybe I will be able to use this up over the next few weeks (thats exciting).

Bourjois Delice De Poudre Duo Bronzing Powder and Highlighter

I have had this for so long now & never used it, thats criminal because it looks so pretty. I like that you get a highlighter & bronzer in one product, I will be interested to see how it compares to my beloved Solar Powder from Soap & Glory, I use that all the time.
