The Skincare Tag

Whilst reading ‘Parisian To Be‘ written by Lillian I came across her Skincare Tag and being a skincare addict I knew this was a tag I had to do.

Skincare

Describe your routine in five words.

Gosh the first question is already a tough one. I seem to change it up so often, some may say too often. I think the best way to describe my routine is varied, expensive, enjoyable, luxurious, important

I love my skincare routine and the more I learn about skincare I understand how important it is to look after your skin and listen to what it needs and that it’s ever changing.

Whats’s your skin type?

Oily Combination – thats only been the case since I hit my 30’s before that I had quite normal skin but I seem to now have an oily t zone and suffer from quite a few blemishes around my jaw line.

What is your favourite skincare product?

Really!??? I have to pick one, I need to go and have a look at my products so I can make an informed decision. Right I’ve struggled to pick one to I have 2 Aesop Parsley Seed Anti Oxidant Serum and my always faithful Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm. What a tag team these two products are. I have so much love for them both.

Top blemish zapper.

I’d say more than a zapper, I try to stop my blemishing erupting and love the Murad Acne Complex Range. These work wonders for calming breakouts and keeping the skin really clean & removing bacteria. The Murad Clarifying Cleanser is very effective.

Face wipes–yay or nay.

Nay – I haven’t used them in over a year. I have to say that if I was in a pickle and needed to use one it would again be a Murad product & this time their Clarifying Wipes. But on a day to day basis for removing makeup I am not a fan of the face wipe.

Toner–yay or nay.

Yay, I use Toner and really like this step in my routine. The two I always re purchase are the Origins Mega Mushroom Skin Relief Toner – perfect for sensitive skin that is prone to redness. I also like LUSH Tea Tree Toner – perfect for skin that is oily and blemish prone.

High-end skincare or high-end makeup?

From the looks of my stash I would have to say High-end skincare. I don’t always splurge but I do my research and buy products that are going to give my skin what it needs and address its concerns and I get more pleasure from skincare. I think you can buy some amazing makeup items for a good price and often expensive doesn’t mean quality with makeup. I love MUA palettes and their lipsticks are pigmented too. So I try to splurge on great skincare & save on makeup.

What is the most universal skincare product you’ve tried?

The Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate – It’s hydrating and gives my skin such a radiant glow. If you want healthy looking skin this oil is a must. Even though I have oily / combination skin that is very sensitive this oil replenishes moisture and gives my skin a healthy glow. Ticks all the boxes.

You’re in a Pharmacy and can only pick one item–what would it be?

I agree with Parisian To Be – this is a French Pharmacy right!? I would also snatch up La Roche Posay Serozinc

Top skincare tips.

I’m no Caroline Hirons but I listen to what she writes & would say:-

ALWAYS cleanse your skin morning & night

Use a face cloth

Try very hard not to pick blemishes

Don’t be afraid to layer products, quite often a moisturiser is not enough

Aways use facial SPF all year round – this is so important

I’m going to tag Grace from All That Slap, Becki & Jess from Life Looks Perfect and Katie from Rotten Otter

  1. Hello gorgeous – thank you for the tag. I will make some time and do it 🙂

Your skincare picks are great and we have similar skin, though I am acne prone.

I really want to try that melting cleansing balm!

    xxx

    1. It is an amazing cleansing balm! Its the first one I have ever used & It removes my makeup so well and leaves my skin feeling very very soft

  2. What a brilliant tag! Every true skincare addict should do this. I’ll definitely do it, I only need to pick my favourite product and how hard is that honestly?!
Your tips are great by the way. I give the same tips to all my clients. I’ll have to think about something different now 😉
