January Treats

January Treats

A few products I purchased in January.

I always like to try different makeup removers and this L’Oreal Gentle Makeup Remover Eye one was on sale in Boots for £1.99 so I thought I would give it a whirl. Let me know If you’ve tried it?

These S&G products were buy one get one half price so I picked up Glow All Out & Solar Powder these are the first face powders I have bought from S&G and I bought them after reading lovely reviews on Amy’s blog SRSLYLOU. They look gorgeous and can’t wait to use them. I don’t own that many blush / bronzers so these are a welcomed addition to my collection.

Soap & Glory Face Powders

Maybelline Brow Drama in Medium Brown – I normally use my HD Brow Palette to do my brows and I love that but I wanted to try this to see if it could be a quicker way of doing my brows. I have been using this for a week now & I really like it. Its like a mascara for your brows & gives me just enough colour & definition for day to day. Its not heavy and looks natural. So far so good. This comes in three shades Deep Blonde, Medium Brown and Dark Brown.

Maybelline Brow Drama

Collection Cream Puff Moisturising Lip Cream in Cotton Candy – I am very late to this party, I know that lots of bloggers love these. First off I noticed how good this smells, its sweet and I guess smells like cotton candy (thumbs up from me). The colour is a pretty wearable pink, and I have enjoyed wearing it, its not sticky and I would say that it isn’t overly glossy. I like the finish of it and how it wears on my lips. Now I have one I want to go back and get a few more shades. There are four shades to pick from Cotton Candy, Powder Puff, Fairy Cake and Angel Delight.

Have you been buying anything during January? Let me know what you have been loving.

Grid of Skincare & Makeup #4

If you want to see my previous Grid Posts which I try to do every couple of months, they’re here & here

Skincare

This Bodhi Neroli Luce Face Oil is the first product I’ve tried from this brand, it came very highly recommended and so far after 2 weeks use I can say I really like it. It is very hydrating and keeps my skin balanced and it smells of summer. I want to try a few more things from them now!

ESPA Essential Cleansing Mask This is the mask I use on a Sunday night after a busy week, as it helps calm my skin and keeps excess oil at bay. It is a lovely mask and I’m glad I took the plunge and treated myself. I now look forward to relaxing on a Sunday night with it on.

If you’re looking for Organic skincare then U little Beauty* have you covered. Their enriching night cream* has helped brighten my complexion and keep my skin hydrated during these cold months.

The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Makeup Remover – This is one of my stand out products of 2013, it removes my eye makeup without needing to rub back and forth and so it is very gentle. It is alcohol free and doesn’t sting at all. I have heard lots of positive things about the rest of this Camomlile range & will be buying a few more things to try.

Grid of Skincare

The Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II is my slice of luxury, I love applying this at night when I need to wake up looking 100% and glowing. It’s my skin saviour. I never want this bottle to end and enjoy every single drop I use.

You know I love the Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm* & recommend it to almost everyone I meet. If you want to know more I have a full review of it here.

Bath & Body Works Hand Sanitiser in Pink Peony – I wish they’d open a shop in the UK so I could buy every single variety of these. I always have one in my handbag. they smell delicious and are small and so handy to have. Love them.

Grid of Makeup

No7 BB Lip – this is in a soft pink shade, it looks pretty and fresh on my lips. They don’t give much colour but are perfect for those day’s where you don’t want to apply much makeup but want to still look put together.

Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter – this is just utterly gorgeous. It is a pretty deep red / berry colour and the pigmentation is really good. It gives your lips colour & hydration. The perfect combination. I adore this colour.

Miss Sporty Cat Eyes Palette – I’m so pleased with this and have worn it so often over the past month. The colours are rich and apply evenly and pigmented. For the price this is well worth buying. I took this with me for a week in Scotland and used it everyday. This is my makeup find of 2014.

Q The Fine Fragrance Body Spray

Behind door 20 was this Q Body Spray* – this smells so pretty and is perfect for having in your handbag. At first I thought it was a dry shampoo, but was pleased to discover it was a body spray. Q is a brand I have never heard of, I took this away with me over Christmas and found the scent lasted a long time considering it was a body spray. I was shocked at how reasonable this is & will be buying a few more. This is a full size product and costs £2.29

Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil

Behind door 21 was this Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil* this is a lightweight dry oil which not only acts as a heat protectant but eliminates frizz, sounds ideal. DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

Behind door 17 was this DHC Deep Cleansing Oil*. I love this cleanser and have previously had a sample in a Glossybox. I took this Oil with me when I went to San Francisco in June and really enjoyed using it. It removes makeup easily and is very gentle. I found is to keep my skin hydrated and soft. I am very happy to have anther one. DHC is a Japanese company and their products are made using high quality ingredients, their skincare range is free from parabens and unnecessary fragrances and colourings. This sample is 30ml for £4.50

Dr Lipp Nipple Balm For Lips

Behind door 18 was the Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm For Lips*, finally I get to try this cult product. I have heard nothing but good reviews of this & winter is the perfect time to put it to the test. My lips are so dry. I must say my husband thought the name was hilarious! This is a multi purpose balm and can be used on burns, abrasions, cuticles, eczema and any dry skin. The good thing about this balm is that it is odourless and tasteless. This a full size product 15ml for £11.50

Model Co Mascara

Behind door 19 was this Models Co Mascara*. A girl can never have too many mascaras. This black mascara is said to lengthen and thicken your lashes leaving them looking thick and shiny. The brush is quite big & reminds me of the Soap & Glory mascara. This product is full size £10

I have never tried anything from Dr. Lipp or Models Co & look forward to using these. The DHC Cleanser is a favourite of mine and I took it with me to Scotland over Christmas.
