NARS Deep Throat Blush

Whist I was in London in April, I purchased NARS Deep Throat Blush. It’s a staple in almost every beauty junkies makeup bag, and I can see why. It’s a perfect spring blush with a hint of shimmer. Only ever so slightly, nothing too crazy, as I am not too much a fan of super shimmery cheek products.

The packaging of NARS products just feels so luxurious and make me more than a little excited. I know the black almost velvet Esk packing doesn’t fair too well in makeup bags and can look a little dirty over time, but I can overlook that because as far as the products go, the quality is so good. I needed a subtle blush colour for Spring (if this season ever decides to begin. So sick of the rain). I wanted something not too in your face pink or not on the orange side. So after an hour of swatching in SpaceNK i went with the product i more or less knew I wanted from the minute I walked in. Always the case, go with your instinct

Nars Deep Throat

There is nothing new I can say about this blush as it has been reviewed a million times before, I only wanted to welcome it into my collection and say I am really enjoying using it. It’s a perfect peachy pink and has already established itself as a firm favourite in my makeup bag. All my other blushes are firmly jealous of the new arrival.

What other Nars Blushes would you recommend i try?

Caudalie Beauty Elixir

I have no words for how much i love this product. Yes i read all the reviews about this and thought blah – how good can a beauty spritz be? Well the answer is REALLY REALLY good i made this purchase from Space NK in Covent Garden – where i was served by a lovely young lady (name i forget) but i was recommended this as i have had such sensitive skin lately and this extra long crappy wintery weather we have had is drying out my skin and making my face dull and sensitive. I was so fed up with it and i did not feel like myself, dull skin is horrid.

I also bought the Jurlique Cleanser at the same time (also recommended by the lady in Space NK). I have only been using this a week and so can’t say too much on it, apart from it seems to be working, but we will see. I like to use things like this for a good month before giving my opinion.

But back to the Caudalie Beauty Elixir, I bought the 100ml bottle for £32, i started using it right away whilst i was in London for the weekend, London can be hard on your skin all that pollution and travelling also dries out your skin. I used it on the plane to stop my skin drying out, it felt really nice. I have to say this product feels so luxurious and the peppermint scent really wakes you up and leaves your skin looking fresh and vibrant. I have noticed my skin being less dry & dull not to mention it has helped reduce the redness on my cheeks. Although this might be in combination with the Jurlique Cleanser i am trying.

Do not be put off by the price, yes its a little bit on the pricey side but you really only need to use a little bit and it can be used in so many ways – under makeup as a wakeup spritz or to freshen up your makeup, its great for travelling to stop your skin drying out or breaking out. A bottle of this will really last you as i’d say 2-3 sprays is all you need. You can purchase a smaller bottle from feel unique for £9.90 with FREE delivery. I highly recommend it and plan on purchasing it for all my girlfriends birthdays this year. So all in all I think its going to be a staple in  my makeup bag from now on.

April’s Natural Beauty GlossyBox

Oh my, i love this months beauty samples in the April edition of GLOSSYBOX. I have been a little disheartened over the previous months boxes. I seemed to always get the crappy box and felt a little underwhelmed. I was seriously considering cancelling my subscription, i said i’d wait and see what was in this months box and low and behold its in my opinion their best box yet.

April GLOSSYBOX Natural Beauty Edition

GLOSSYBOX have named this months box their ‘Natural Beauty Box’ All the products are made with natural ingredients. The Box itself is biodegradable. Not that i will be throwing it away  as i think they make great make-up and nail polish storage. Right so what did i receive in my box…..

April 2012 Glossybox

I am delighted with the range of products in this months GLOSSYBOX – first off there is a lovely Lip Balm from Figs & Rouge which is described as 100% Pure, 100% Natural and 100% Organic. I always carry a lip balm in my handbag and am looking forward to use this natural one. I received the Cherry Vanilla one. This is a FULL SIZE product 8ml retailing for £3.29 so thats great.

Figs & Rouge Cherry Vanilla Lip Balm

Next up is a body lotion from Burt’s Bees. I have a few products from this company already like cuticle balm and lip balm and really like them. This Body Lotion is not my favourite scent but it wont put me off using it. It’s a Milk and Honey Body Lotion and claim its nourishment that lasts up to 24 hours and is 99% Natural. This is a great size sample at 70g, full size would be 190g. I can’t live without body lotion and this dry wintery weather has meant my skin is in need for body lotion and i will i am sure enjoy using this.

Now this next product is one i have not heard of before, this is what i love about these beauty boxes you get brands you have heard of and even used before as well as ones you are not aware of. Monu is a brand that i have not used before, i received a Moisture Rich Collagen Cream. This is a good product for my age range as being almost 34 i have heard that after the age of 30 your skin stops producing collegen (a lovely sales lady in Kiehl’s Covent Garden told me that). I like the look of this brand and is meant to relieve dryness and smooth fine lines – i need me some of that! GLOSSYBOX are spoiling us as this is another FULL SIZE product at 50ml and retails at £17.50.

Monu Professional Skincare

This next product is the only one in this box that doesn’t excite me. Its the Inika Organic Eyeliner in Purple Minx. From initial testing it’s a little bit scratchy and colour pay off isn’t great. But I will wear it and give it a go. I think more than anything its the colour that im not thrilled about. Purples are not my thing. It again is a FULL SIZE product and retails at £11.75.

Inika Cosmetics Purple Mix Eyeliner

The last product is the one i am most super excited to try. It is the Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum. I am using their Beauty Elixir already and am in love with it. SO getting this in my beauty box is great. I am a big fan of serums and as soon as i finish my Olay serum will start using this one. This is a 10ml sample and full size would be 30ml and reali for £29 so i think thats a generous sample size and there will be enough product to really give it a good trial and see how it works.

What did you receive in your April GLOSSYBOX? Are you pleased. I have heard that next months box is their Birthday box so that could be a fun box.

In Extra Dimension Mac Eyeshadow

Whilst i was at the airport last week i picked up a small treat. I was browsing the delights of the Mac stand, trying so hard not to buy anything (which is almost impossible). When i saw Mac had released two collections the Tres Cheek and the In Extra Dimension both collections are amazing.

The Tres Cheek collection was beautiful but I dont need any more blush as i picked up two news ones in London — review to come. The In Extra Dimension collection was stunning and i was doing my usual crazy swatching on my hand trying to pick one item (i try to limit myself to one). Its so easy at Mac to buy for buying sake – they bring out so many collections a year and alot of products get re released so i never go overboard. I liked the In Extra Dimension eyeshadows as they are bigger than the regular shadows and they haven’t really released anything like this before.

The quality of these shadows is so nice, they look like liquid metal, the finish looks metallic and the colour pay off is great. I purchased the Sweet Heat colour – which is a brown/bronze/taupe colour with a super metallic finish. I paid £14.50 duty free for 2g of product & with this a little bit goes a long way, esp with a primer.

Mac describes these shadows as

A liquid-powder Eye Shadow with prismatic reflections in ten shimmering tints. Impact ranges from sheer crystallized light to a highly polished metallic effect. Lasts up to 6 hours.

I can totally agree with the metallic finish and prism reflections, they have bowled me over with this collection and i really want to go back and pick up a few more pieces. Have you bought anything from this collection? What would you recommend?
