Shopping My Stash September 2015

OK where did September go? Quickest month of the year but also a very exciting one for me as I moved house & now call the beautiful county of Cornwall home. If there are any other Cornish beauty bloggers say Hello in the comments. Now lets see what I have products I have rediscovered this month.

NARS Blush in Orgasm

I only have two NARS Blushers and I used to use them all the time but as my collection grew I used them less, but I have fallen back in love with Orgasm this past month. I had forgotten how beautiful it looks on the cheeks. I do like it for more of an evening blush but if you use it lightly it can work for daytime too. It does have a touch of gold shimmer running through but it catches the light and gives you healthy glow to your skin. I like the peachy pink colour on my skin. I also like NARS packaging it always feels so lovely and luxurious.

L’Oreal Color Riche Smoky Quad in Rose Memories

I love L’Oreal eyeshadows and adore all four shades in this quad, these are so pretty and very me. I bought this at the end of 2014 last & got quite a lot of use from it then like most makeup items it was forgotten about. I’m so glad I’ve rediscovered it because it is gorgeous. This quad isn’t for matte eyeshadow fans because all four colours have shimmer in them, its not disco ball glitter but they have a hint of shimmer / frost finish .I love the darkest plum colour & think it looks so pretty worn alone all over the lid. The packaging of this is slim and compact it looks and feels quite luxurious.

Clarins Instant Light Complexion Base

I like to wear this either under my foundation to perk my skin up or I mix it in with my foundation for an extra reflective boost. This gives me a healthy glow and does a good job at evening out my skin tone. I have the shade Champagne 02 & have found this creamy pink shade is pretty good at dulling the redness in my skin. Its lovely and lightweight so it doesn’t feel greasy on the skin at all, it just gives you a dewy fresh healthy glow. I also think its a great base to apply your foundation on top of , think of it as a primer with benefits & it keeps your complexion looking fresh & bright all day.

Soap & Glory Wonderbronze

This product wasn’t in the depths of my stash, I have had it looked out for a while, I just hadn’t found the best way to use it. It was one of those products that I was a little scared to use. It can look a little OTT if you don’t stick to the ‘Less is More’ mantra. This Wonderbronze is a gorgeous shimmer brick made up of 5 shades ranging from champagne to deep brown, all the shades have shimmer running through them. I like to swirl my brush through them all and apply it to the tops of my cheeks & it gives a beautiful bronze glow. Its a bronzer and highlighter all in one now I apply it with a light hand I have mastered the subtle glow. You get a decent sized mirror which is always a bonus. I have to say the Soap & Glory face products are fantastic value for money. I have a few now & rate them all very highly.

DHC Premium Lipstick in Rich Raspberry*

This a gorgeous creamy berry shade and it feels so smooth and soft on my lips. The staying power isn’t incredible because the formula is creamy but it does last a couple of hours. The colour is intense and has a satin finish which makes it look beautiful on the lips. I think this berry shade is a beautiful Autumnal colour & I’m going to keep it in my everyday makeup stash for October too. The packaging of these lippies is beautiful too and it looks more expensive than it is. I’m not much of a lipstick lover but these DHC offerings are really pretty.

DHC Premium Lipsticks

DHC Lipsticks

DHC Lipsticks

Cult Japanese brand DHC is very well known for their skincare and I love their Cleansing Oil and Eye Masks but they also have a makeup line which includes Lipsticks, Eyeliners, Blushers and a few other products. They have recently released a line of Premium Lipsticks and these come in 6 easy to wear shades. I have been testing 3 of the colours.

DHC Makeup

The first thing you notice is the packaging, they have a very high-end look and feel to them, the casing is a stunning mix of gold and silver with etched flower detailing. They look very pretty and feel luxurious. The only downside to the packaging is the fact they don’t have the product names on, the boxes have only the number and the lipstick themselves have neither.

The three shades I have are all quite muted and perfect as everyday options. These lipsticks are almost an extension of DHC’s skincare line and brand ethos in that they have an underline skincare benefit too as These lipsticks ‘fight the signs of ageing in two ways, firstly by using Pure Colour Technology which contains micronized pigment to deflect light, creating a plump and 3D lip effect and secondly by reducing the appearance of vertical lines with ingredients such as macadamia oil, olive oil and rice bran oil to moisturise, collagen and sodium hyaluronic to lock in moisture and vitamin A and geranium to protect and condition’.

All three of the ones I have are rich in colour and the formula is soft, hydrating and it glides on the lips effortlessly. They have a satin finish, no shimmer (which is good) they leave your lips looking fresh, plumo and with a pop of colour. The three colours I have are,

OE112 Bold Permission* – This is a glossy peach toned nude, this makes my lips look healthy and like I have lipstick on but nothing too bold. Its a nice nude with a hint of peach, its a great colour for warming up your complexion

RS107 Rich Raspberry* – This is the brightest of the three colours I have and it’s a stunning raspberry pink – true to its name. This looks so pretty on the lips and I think its the ideal Summer shade. It’s just such a bright, fresh looking colour.

BE111 Rose Gold* – This is more of a true nude although it leans more to a brown on my lips, this is such an easy colour to wear. Its most definitely a My Lips But Better colours. It makes my lips look plump, smooth and very healthy. I love having this colour in my handbag as I can apply it on the go, no mirror needed.

DHC Premium GE Lipsticks

DHC Premium Lipstick Swatches

If you like your lipstick to be hydrating, easy to apply and fresh looking then these DHC Premium Lipsticks are for you. I find that they last a good amount of time on me, a good couple of hours. If you are eating and drinking they will wear off as they’re a satin finish and quite buttery on the lips but topping them up is so easy too! I have had these on rotation since I got them and have really enjoyed wearing them.

As I said the packaging is beautiful and they look a lot more expensive than they are.

These are really easy to get your hands on because Escentual have started stocking DHC skincare and makeup so that’s great news. You can also find them at DHC Online.

DHC Premium Lipstick – 2.4g for £13.00 – currently in the sale for £10.40
