W7 The Naughty Nine : Mid Summer Nights Palette

I have already admitted this to myself but I’m without a doubt an eyeshadow palette addict, I just love them. I think it’s because the colours look so pretty altogether and I like that you can easily create an eye look without too much fuss. So when I saw this absolute beauty of a palette from W7 on MissMakeUpMagpie blog a few weeks ago I had to get it.

On the grapevine, I have heard that this W7 palette is meant to be a dupe for the MAC Burgundy Times Nine Palette & I wondered if the pigmentation would be there but I have to say this palette knocks it out of the park. All 9 shades are gorgeous, very pigmented and have little to no fallout The shades in this palette are perfect for Autumn / Winter.

The packaging is very MAC inspired, it feels like its very good quality, it’s slim, compact and sturdy, I also love that it has a clear lid so you can see the eyeshadows. You get 4.5g of product and 9 shadows in total. I think its a fantastic palette for the price. As with most budget brands, they haven’t named the shadows which annoys me slightly but that doesn’t take away from the quality, which is very good.

Mid Summer Nights Eyeshadow Palette

You get 9 shadows in the palette and I like the range of nude-toned neutrals & the fact you get a good selection of coppers, cranberries and a few nude pink tones. I would wear every shade in this palette, it makes a very good everyday option as you can make it look quite minimal and muted with the pretty nudes or vamp it up with more of the deeper, richer shades.

There is a nice mix of mattes, satin finishes and shimmers all of which are pigmented and blend well. It’s unusual to find good affordable matte shadows but these are very good quality, in fact regardless of price, this is an outstanding palette and one I highly recommend checking out.

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette

New Urban Decay Ultimate Naked Basics Palette

Urban Decay Ultimate Naked Basic

Urban Decay have already released some incredible products during 2016, including their Moondust Palette, All Nighter Foundation and a whopping 100 Vice Lipsticks and they show no signs of slowing down. September saw them release the follow up to their hugely successful Naked Basics & Naked Basics 2 which both had six gorgeous neutral matte eyeshadows. The Naked Ultimate Basics Palette is the latest in the Naked line up and has taken the matte palette to a whole new level. The Naked Ultimate Basics Palette is BEAUTIFUL and it includes 12 all matte must have neutral shadows. This really it the ultimate matte palette and you need it in your life.

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette*

From the get-go, this palette gets my seal of approval because of its rose gold, very sturdy and for a 12 pan palette its sleek and slim. There is also a very decent sized mirror in the lid which always comes in handy. This also includes a mini double ended brush which is great quality and is actually a brush that you can use and I have been using it to apply these shadows.

This palette has 12 wearable, pigmented, neutral shadows

  • Blow (Light Nude Demi-Matte)
  • Nude (Soft Pink Nude Matte)
  • Commando (Light Taupe Brown Matte)
  • Tempted (Pale Brown Matte)
  • Instinct (Medium Pink Taupe Matte)
  • Lethal (Reddish Brown Matte)
  • Pre-Game (Pale Yellow Matte)
  • Extra Bitter (Burnt Orange Matte)
  • Faith (Medium Warm Brown Matte)
  • Lockout (Rich Neutral Brown Matte)
  • Magnet (Smoky Gray Matte)
  • Blackjack (Warm Black Matte)

New Urban Decay Ultimate Naked Basics Palette

The two lightest shades Pre Game & Blow are quite pale and although not very pigmented they work well applied all over the lid & up to your brow to neutralise redness, add a little brightness and as a base for the darker shades.

The other 10 shades are very pigmented, long wearing & easy to blend. They never apply patchy and have minimal to no fallout. You can achieve so many looks using this palette so if like me you tend to wear a neutral eye most days then you have so much choice in this palette. It’s handy having 12 matte shadows in one place and the colours are so versatile, I like that you can achieve a subtle look or go all out with a smokey eye using those beautiful rich darker shades.

Favourite Matte Eyeshadow Palette

The quality of this palette is fantastic, as you’d expect from Urban Decay, I mean this is a brand that knows how to do fantastic, pigmented and very long-wearing eyeshadow. I am not surprised that It lives up to the hype and I would say its a palette well worth investing in, I’ve been reaching for it almost daily.

What I also like is that the 12 shadows in this palette are all new colours and exclusive to this palette, which is exciting. I’m in love with everything about this latest Urban Decay release and I know it will be a firm favourite for a very long time.

L’Oreal La Palette Nude

LOreal La Palette Nude Eyeshadows

L'Oreal La Palette Nude

I am a sucker for a palette & especially a nude palette – I purchased the L’Oréal La Palette Nude Rose first last year & although at first I thought it was a little pricey, after a few uses I realised the eyeshadows are really good quality and you get 10 shadows in each palette. I love the selection of colours in the Rose palette, they range from a light cream to more rosy shades & a gorgeous deep plum.

Then I purchased the newer L’Oréal La Palette Nude Beige earlier this year & they have both been welcome additions to my makeup stash. I hope L’Oréal release more of these, I would like to see an all Matte option, I think that would be really good.

LOreal La Palette Nude Eyeshadows

LOreal La Palette Nude Rose

Its a versatile palette and you can get create a lot of different looks with the shades, I am not normally one to reach for plums or pink tones but this palette has changed my mind. As you can see from the swatches the shadows are pigmented and apart from the first light cream colour the rest are buttery and blend like a dream. You get 6 shimmers and 4 matte colours, so a good mix for a high street palette.

The packaging is identical on both palettes and feels luxurious, its black & gold which adds to its sleek look. Although the packaging is plastic, its not flimsy or cheep looking but feels robust & shuts tight so It won’t open in your makeup bag. The palette is compact and great for travel, there is also a good size mirror too which is always handy.

La Palette Nude Beige

Although I really like the Rose palette when I heard that L’Oréal were releasing a Nude version I was so excited & I wasn’t to be disappointed. The colours are beautiful and ideal for creating a warm neutral smokey eye and although I probably have identical shades in all my other neutral palettes I really like the formula and pigmentation of these L’Oréal ones. Much like the Rose palette you get 10 shadows, 4 of which are matte & 6 are more shimmery. Its good that both palettes have very different colours in so they’re well worth investing in both.

As you can see from the swatches the colour are bold and very wearable, even the deep grey is easy to blend and isn’t chalky.I love that you get a good mix of neutral colours from taupe, gold to more copper and a lovely deep grey.

I have to say Its a neutral palette that has been getting a lot of use, I have traveled with it a few times and its been all I needed, I didn’t take any other eye shadows. As I said these palettes are so slim and perfect for travel.

Inglot Makeup Stole My Heart

Inglot Eyeshadow Palette

Inglot

I bought my first Inglot Freedom System Palette last year whilst I was in Amsterdam and I absolutely love every eyeshadow I put in that palette. The quality and price are amazing, they also have such a wide range of colours and finishes. So whilst I was in San Francisco last month I wanted to buy a few more from Inglot in Macy’s.

This time I went for a 4 pan palette 3 eyeshadows and 1 blush. As with last time, it took me ages to decide what to buy, I even had to look at my Inglot blog post to make sure I didn’t buy the same colours again. So here is what I went for. All very me colours – quite neutral and easy to wear.

Inglot Palette

Inglot

 402 / 393 / 605 / Blush 28

This is my first Inglot Blush and its a really pretty pink, I will be going back for a few more colours. Have you tried any Inglot blushes?

Inglot Eyeshadows

I was so impressed with my last palette and this one didn’t disappoint the eyeshadows are creamy and very pigmented. They glide on and have great staying power. Inglot has become my favourite brand for eyeshadows, they tick all the boxes.

Inglot

Inglot Swatches

I only have positive things to say about all the products I have tried from Inglot and they are so reasonably priced. The packaging is slim and very sturdy, the lid is magnetic so it is great for travel, and if you want to build your own palette they literally have every colour you could dream of! I highly recommend Inglot & would love to hear what you have tried from this brand.
