Current Lip Balm Collection

Soap & Glory Great Kisser in Juicy Peach

I got this in my stocking and I can’t wait to use it, it smells so good, quite sweet but omg so fruity. If you like peach scented products then this is for you. I have no idea what its like on the lips but I am going to put it in my car so I get a little use out of it. The tin is cute too.

Dr Paw Paw Original Balm

This is a multi-purpose balm with antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, the main ingredient is fermented Pawpaw. The Pawpaw has been found to have many soothing properties for our skin and hair, making it a real ‘go to’ product. I swear by this product for preventing and healing chapped lips. I also like to apply it over lipsticks to give them a glossy look! I carry my tube with me everywhere & always recommended it to family and friends. If you suffer from chapped lips you need to invest in this Balm, It really works.

Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment

This is a really good lip treatment and leaves my lips very soft, its much like the Dr PawPaw in texture. It is fragrance-free and colourless which I like. It protects your lips against moisture loss and is a good one to apply before bed because it’s not at all sticky and doesn’t leave your lips greasy. I like the squeeze tube it makes it hygienic and easy to apply. This is also a great price too, especially for more of a luxurious brand £13.

eos Strawberry Sorbet

Over the years I’ve tried almost all the flavours but the berry ones are by far my favourite. I like that they’re both quite sweet but fruity. So pleased that Boots sell them now, which means they’re a lot easier to get your hands on. There is something cute about a lip balm that’s a sphere, am I right? Which is your favourite scent?

My Lip Balm Selection

Vaseline Sugar Coated

Vaseline have started doing these limited edition tins more frequently and I am a sucker for anything like that. The tin is cute and the product isn’t too bad either, I wouldn’t say this is the most moisturising but it adds a pretty sheen to your lips and is nice to wear with minimal makeup. It also smells lovely and sweet.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour

I love that this is in stick form, I used to have the pot but I much prefer it like this. I use this all the time and have repurchased it over and over again it just works and that’s all there is to it. It keeps the moisture locked in and my lips feeling really healthy. Oh, and it has SPF 15 which I really like so I know my lips are protected from the sun.

Blistex Cherry Intensive Moisturiser

You can’t go wrong with a Blistex lip product, so inexpensive and their range is always growing. There isn’t a Blistex product I have tried and not liked. This Cherry one smells authentic and not too sickly sweet. It has Shea butter & beeswax so it will protect your lips and also it has SPF15. It ticks all the boxes.

The Body Shop Born Lippy in Watermelon

This looks so pretty and glossy on the lips and watermelon is quite a different scent for me but I like it. It smells like Summer. Nothing groundbreaking about this, it’s just a nice hydrating lip balm with a lovely scent.

Favourite Lipbalms

Olive & Pomegranate Lip Care

My mum bought me this from Greece & its quite soft and almost melts on to your lips. The scent is subtle and a little fruity. It’s a nice chap stick style lip balm to have in your handbag. It keeps my lips soft and hydrated for hours.

Sleek Pout Polish in The Show

I have had this for a while and I have no idea why I overlooked it for so long. It adds a very subtle pink gloss to your lips & looks pretty. It contains Almond Oil, Shea Butter and Vitamin E so it looks after your lips and it has SPF 15. I think the darker shades would be a little more pigmented but this a great everyday gloss.

Jurlique Love Balm

This is a great all-rounder, so it’s not only for your lips but works to soothe dry or chapped skin. I like to use it on my cuticles and find it works to soften them before I give myself a manicure. It’s a natural salve that’s infused with the natural scent of roses and the scent it subtle but pretty. I like to carry this with me when I travel and find it a great multi purpose product.

NUXE Réve de Miel Lip Balm

For me the NUXE lip balm is more of a treatment because it is quite thick and not the kind of lip product I would wear during the day. I like to put it on last thing at night, so I wake up with soft hydrated lips. I don’t think its great at helping soothe chapped lips but it is good at keeping your lips feeling soft and moisturised. A pot lasts forever & don’t be put off by the fact it says honey because it really doesn’t smell of honey.

June & July 2015 Product Empties

June & July Empties 2015

Garnier Micellar Water Combination & Sensitive Skin – As far as I could tell this wasn’t much different to the one in the pink packaging. I still liked it & it was as good at removing my mascara and bulk of my makeup. I love to stock up on this from my local Savers as they always have it for less than £3. I even have the cutest mini bottle to take with me on my holidays. I will forever repurchase this (or the pink one) – it’s best high street Micellar Water that I’ve found.

The Body Shop Satsuma Beautifying Oil – This was from one of the amazing British Beauty Blogger boxes & I really liked using it. It seemed to last me ages considering its quite a small bottle. I only used it on my thighs, I liked to massage it in to get the blood flowing and it left my skin feeling so smooth and not at all greasy. It also smells like Summer – orange is such a lovely scent and although it didn’t linger too long it was a nice uplifting scent for the morning. I would repurchase this again.

Chapstick Mixstix – This is a double ended lip balm so you get two flavours. I bought this a while ago from America and have its taken me ages to use it up. I did like it & thought having two flavours in one was a great idea. I used the cherry side quicker than the lemon but both smelt sweet and fruity and although not the most hydrating of lip products its still nice to have in your handbag and very inexpensive. Wouldn’t rush out to repurchase.

Elizabeth Grant Collagen Re-Inforce Platinum 24hr Firming Eye Cream* – This 30ml tube lasted me almost a whole year. I thought it was hydrating and very nourishing, my under eyes looked very smooth when I used this. It sits well under makeup and doesn’t look greasy but keeps my concealer looking fresh all day. I would repurchase this.

Origins Plantscription™ Anti-aging Power Serum* This is a nice serum, I used it as my overnight serum and I’d wake up to smooth, fresh glowing skin. It smells quite botanical so if you’re not a fan of fragranced skincare this isn’t for you. This serum leaves your skin feeling so silky smooth but after a few months use I didn’t see any significant changes in my fine lines. Its quite a thin water based serum so its easy to massage in to the skin and a little goes a long way, this tube lasted me about 4 months and I did love using it. Despite not seeing massive results in terms of anti ageing this was a really nice hydrating serum that helped my skin look radiant and fresh. Let me know if you have tried anything from the Plantscription range.

NARS Brightening Serum –  I wouldn’t say it was an amazing purchase and I was unsure how to use it at first. In the end I started to mix a little either with my moisturiser or my foundation but I wouldn’t say it was fantastic at making my skin look bright and glowing it was quite greasy and didn’t sink in to my skin very well. I much prefer Brightening Primers like the B one or the Revlon ones. Much cheaper and I think better quality.

Crazy Rumors Black Cherry Lipbalm – This smells so good & its extremely hydrating on the lips. It does a great job at keeping my lips moisturised. I don’t have to reapply it that much throughout but I like having it to hand & I just love the scent of it . Crazy Rumor offer a wide selection of flavours and they all sound lovely so I would repurchase a new flavour as they have so many to try!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Toner – This is such a gentle toner, I used it mostly as part of my morning skincare regime, it left my skin feeling clean and refreshed. It didn’t make my skin dry or tight and a bottle lasted me 6 months of almost daily use. I love the Vitamin E range and always have a couple of products on the go & always repurchase.

Batiste Dry Shampoo – Now I have shorter hair (jaw length) I don’t have to wash it as often which makes me very happy. I do like to use a dry shampoo on the 3rd & 4th day, this helps absorb the oils and gives it a bit of volume. Yes this one can leave a white cast but I just rub that away & all is good. Batiste is just such a good price that I always go back to it even after trying other brands.

Bath & Body Works Hand Sanitiser – These are so fun and smell incredible. If I’m not going to America any time soon I tend to stock up on these via eBay, there are quite a few sellers and although you can’t get 5 for $5 you can get them for a half decent price. This Noel one was hanging around from my Christmas stash and I was excited to finally use it up so I could open a new more Summer appropriate scent. Let me know what your favourite scents are – they do SO many!

Ted Baker Sweet Sugar Body Wash* – Love the pink and rose gold packaging of this collection – it was so pretty. It left my skin soft and smelling of jasmine & patchouli which is quite floral and summery. I think Ted Baker have been releasing some fantastic body products, great quality and so affordable. The Body Spray in this Sweet Sugar range is amazing, you have to give it a test next time you’re in Boots!

Dr PawPaw Balm

Dr PawPaw Balm

Dr PawPaw Balm

Dr PawPaw* are a British made multi-purpose balm with antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. The main ingredient in their balms is fermented Pawpaw, which is the fruit of the plant Carica Papaya. The Pawpaw has been found to have many soothing properties for our skin and hair, making it a real ‘go to’ product.

Dr PawPaw’s ingredients & benefits are

Carica Papaya (PawPaw)

This nutrient-rich fruit is full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. It contains calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, vitamins A and C and acetogenins which, when applied externally, helps in aiding skin repair, adding moisture and smoothing and tightening the skin.

Olive Fruit Oil

Olive oil has a variety of benefits for skin and hair due to its vast amount of antioxidants. Olive Oil contains Vitamin A and E but the most potent compound is Hydroxytyrosol. This rare antioxidant prevents free radical damage on skin cells and is absorbed deeply into the skin. It has many anti-inflammatory properties and is great for dry skin and hair.

Aloe Vera

Retains and restores moisture to lips, skin and hair. ‘Bathes’ skin cells and helps promote skin regeneration. Helps minimise the appearance of pore size and is an excellent ingredient for skin cleansing and toning.

Dr PawPaw Balm

Dr PawPaw Colours

These balms come in handbag friendly squeezy tubes and are perfect for taking with you on the go. I love the bold colourful packaging and think they’re functional & look cute too. I also like that they’re fragrance-free.

I’ve been using the Original Balm mostly as a lip treatment (as my lips are so dry this Winter) and I also like to massage it into my cuticles at night to help keep them soft. The formula is non-greasy and easily absorbed. It has quickly become a staple in my routine now & sits on my bedside table.

The Tinted Peach Pink* & Tinted Ultimate Red* Balms are pretty worn alone on the lips as they give the lips a subtle wash of colour and they also hydrate, protect and soothe the lips. I do also like to layer these on top of a lipstick to add more colour & a little shine. They’re so good for having in your handbag & applying throughout the day as a treatment & a lip colour. I’m never without mine & in particular, I love the Peach Pink, it’s such an easy colour to wear. I have also read that people use these tinted balms on their cheeks, I will be trying that out & think the peach shade will look cute.

You get 25ml of product in each tube and that will last you a very very long time as a little goes a long way. The original balm is an excellent multi-purpose product & the tinted options are fantastic lip colours, which not only give your lips a fresh glossy colour but they also have the same great formula as the Original Balm which will protect your lips all day long!

These balms are a hit with me & I’m currently trying to keep them out of my mums reach as I know she will pinch one from me.

Dr PawPaw Multi Use Balms £6.95 each & available from www.drpawpaw.com

The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist

This is so refreshing and if you like rose scented products then you will love this. I like to spritz it on to my skin before applying makeup, it feels cooling and hydrating. Also, I often like to spritz it on top of my makeup to freshen it up, especially if I have applied powder & it’s a nice pick me up throughout the day. It’s perfect for keeping your skin protected and hydrated in the winter. I like that the product lightly mists your face & doesn’t soak you. A bottle lasts me a good couple of months. A winter staple for me, for sure.

EOS Hand Cream in Berry Blossom

This is a nice hydrating hand cream it contains shea butter and aloe so will keep your hands very smooth and soft. It’s great to have on your desk to keep your hands soft and smooth throughout the day. The scent isn’t too floral & is slightly sweet too. I love the unusual packaging, its fun & slim so great for your handbag & travel. It’s quite overpriced in the UK but if you’re lucky enough to visit America make sure you try a couple.

Jurlique Rose Love Balm*

This is a natural salve that moisturises, softens and protects dry or chapped skin. Infused with the natural scent of roses. It’s always in my handbag because as the weather gets colder & we start to use the central heating more my lips start to get very dry. This balm is a great product for combating the dryness, its hydrating but not greasy & has that lovely natural rose scent. I love it.
