Grid of Skincare & Makeup #4

If you want to see my previous Grid Posts which I try to do every couple of months, they’re here & here

Skincare

This Bodhi Neroli Luce Face Oil is the first product I’ve tried from this brand, it came very highly recommended and so far after 2 weeks use I can say I really like it. It is very hydrating and keeps my skin balanced and it smells of summer. I want to try a few more things from them now!

ESPA Essential Cleansing Mask This is the mask I use on a Sunday night after a busy week, as it helps calm my skin and keeps excess oil at bay. It is a lovely mask and I’m glad I took the plunge and treated myself. I now look forward to relaxing on a Sunday night with it on.

If you’re looking for Organic skincare then U little Beauty* have you covered. Their enriching night cream* has helped brighten my complexion and keep my skin hydrated during these cold months.

The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Makeup Remover – This is one of my stand out products of 2013, it removes my eye makeup without needing to rub back and forth and so it is very gentle. It is alcohol free and doesn’t sting at all. I have heard lots of positive things about the rest of this Camomlile range & will be buying a few more things to try.

Grid of Skincare

The Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II is my slice of luxury, I love applying this at night when I need to wake up looking 100% and glowing. It’s my skin saviour. I never want this bottle to end and enjoy every single drop I use.

You know I love the Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm* & recommend it to almost everyone I meet. If you want to know more I have a full review of it here.

Bath & Body Works Hand Sanitiser in Pink Peony – I wish they’d open a shop in the UK so I could buy every single variety of these. I always have one in my handbag. they smell delicious and are small and so handy to have. Love them.

Grid of Makeup

No7 BB Lip – this is in a soft pink shade, it looks pretty and fresh on my lips. They don’t give much colour but are perfect for those day’s where you don’t want to apply much makeup but want to still look put together.

Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter – this is just utterly gorgeous. It is a pretty deep red / berry colour and the pigmentation is really good. It gives your lips colour & hydration. The perfect combination. I adore this colour.

Miss Sporty Cat Eyes Palette – I’m so pleased with this and have worn it so often over the past month. The colours are rich and apply evenly and pigmented. For the price this is well worth buying. I took this with me for a week in Scotland and used it everyday. This is my makeup find of 2014.

REN Vita Mineral Active 7 Eye Gel

REN Eye Cream

Eye Creams are a product I am obsessed with, I seem to be in a never ending hunt for that perfect one. I am now 35 and have found that my under eye area has become alot more dehydrated these past few years and my fine lines are not so fine anymore. I need my eye creams to work a little harder. This REN Vita Mineral Active 7 Eye Gel* has been effective in hydrating and keeping my under eye area looking brighter.

I have been using it for about 4 weeks now and I like to use it in the morning because it is formulated to sooth and de puff your tired eyes & I really need all the help I can get in that department. The clear gel formula I found nice and easy to pat in under my eye, very cooling on the skin. It makes my under eye feel fresh, cool and hydrated. The pump means that you only dispense just enough product, I use one pump for each eye and that gives me the perfect amount. I am hoping this lasts me quite a while as I’m seeing some good results.

REN SkincareREN

REN have jam packed this eye gel with so many beneficial ingredients,

  • Vitamin P from Damask Rose Water is anti-inflammatory and protects capillary network
  • Flavonoids from Arnica reduce puffiness by stimulating the drainage process
  • Mucilages from Fig soothe and instantly refresh the eye area
  • Polysaccharides from Zostera Marina increase and maintain moisture levels
  • Ginsengoside from Chinese Ginseng boosts circulation in the capillaries
  • Tyrosinase Inhibitor from Wild Canadian Rumex reduces dark pigmentation and redness

This is suitable for all skin types and is perfect for this time of year, when our skin needs a boost of hydration and we aren’t getting enough sleep due to all those festive parties! Say goodbye to puffy tired looking eyes with this gel. There are also a few other products in this Vita Mineral Range from REN and they include a Day Cream, Rescue Cream, Skin Serum Oil and a Lip Balm. I have my eye on the serum next!

I love getting mail

I was lucky enough to win a giveaway about a month ago. It was on Alice’s blog Bright Town Girl and as you can see I won some amazing goodies. I was so excited to receive them. Alice did send them really quickly I just kept forgetting to write this post. Along with all the items in the photo below Alice sent LOTS of samples/sachet’s which I have used up. Like the Liz Earle tinted moisturiser and lots of lovely skincare samples.

The Topshop nail polish in AWOL (blue) and Barefoot (nude) have been getting a lot of wear. They are both great colours and like all the Topshop nail polishes I’ve tried they have great staying power.

How nice are the two Maybelline eyeshadow quads. The colours are really pigmented and i took the neutral toned one – Coral Drama 20, with me to Amsterdam, I’ll have a post on this in more detail at the end of the week. The colours are beautiful.

You also can’t beat a tube of Soap and Glory’s The Righteous Butter – this is a firm fave of mine and I love it. This sample size has come away with me to Scotland for the week. So i am enjoying using that.

The L’Oreal liquid eyeliner is so nice. It allows you  to do such a precise line & its a great black. This is great for doing a cute flick and i have been practicing my eyeliner flick. So far so good and I’ve been enjoying using this.

This was my first giveaway win and I was sent so many wonderful products. I am thrilled. So if you get chance check Alice’s blog! Have you won any giveaways or are you holding one ATM? Have you tried any of the products I was sent? I’ve really been loving testing them out this past month. So expect some reviews over the next few weeks,

Travel Skincare

This is the skincare I’m taking with me to Amsterdam. We are going for 5 days for our 13 year anniversary. We have been before and absolutely love the city. It’s so beautiful and we love walking up and down the canals esp at night. It’s so romantic. So I thought I’d let you have a quick peek as to what skincare bits and bobs im taking. I am a nightmare at packing esp when it comes to packing products. I can never decide what to take and end up taking far too many things. I am sure most of you are the same. This time I knew i had a fair few sample sizes from various beauty boxes and magazine freebies so they came in very handy.

I have tried to be as good as possible and pack as little as i think i can get away with. I think all these are miniatures or sample sizes, so that’s great. I’m taking a few things that I’ve not tried yet so that will be exciting. Is it me or do products look way cuter in miniature.

I will quickly run through what I’m taking –

1. Superdrug own branded calming face mask

2. Small pack of Simple face wipes

3. Murad exfoliating cleanser

4. Balance Me face cream

5. Clarins body lotion

6. No7 Perfect & Perfect serum

7. REN Active 7 eye gel

8. L’Occitane Angelica Hydration face cream

9. YSL serum (also using this as a primer)

10.Elizabeth Arden face cream

11. Simple eye makeup remover

12. NEOM Moroccan Blush Rose hand lotion

I’ll be taking my Origins face wash thats not pictured here & possibly taking out the Elizabeth Arden cream – how many face creams do I need right?! I think thats all I’m taking but I can’t promise I wont buckle at the last minute and pack a few more things.

Have you tried any of these products. What skincare do you take away with you? Oh another thing i have in my handbag is an Avene thermal spray which is lovely to have on the plane & I spray my hubby’s face too much to his disgust.

I took this last year in Amsterdam. Fingers crossed we get sunny weather
