Urban Decay Moondust Palette

Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow Palette

New Urban Decay Moondust Palette

Urban Decay are one of the most iconic and well loved makeup brands and they’re celebrating their 20th Birthday this year. I think every makeup addict the world over has their introduction to Urban Decay through purchasing one of their Naked Palettes, its almost like a beauty right of passage. Its easy to see why Urban Decay is such a well loved international best selling brand, they never falter on quality, service or the ability to release products that become cult classics.

Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow Palette

So to celebrate the big 2-0, Urban Decay have released what I think is one of their most beautiful palettes to date. Moondust* is a party palette & that is for sure. The packaging looks glittery and is slightly textured with Moondust written in a cool mirrored stencil type font. It looks funky and almost inter galactic. The palette feels sturdy and is quite weighty, there is a huge mirror in the lid too.

Gorgeous New Moondust Palette

Inside you are met with 8 of the most intensely sparkly eyeshadows. All eight of the shads included in this palette are brand new and boy do they have the WOW factor.

  • Specter – Soft Pink with tonal sparkle
  • Element – Peach with pink shift and sparkle
  • Magentic – Purple with blue sparkle
  • Lightyear – Vibrant green with tonal sparkle
  • Granite – Gunmetal with multicoloured sparkle
  • Lithium – Brown with irridesant 3D sparkle
  • Vega – Bright blue with tonal sparkle
  • Galaxy – Smoky blue-grey with iridescent 3D sparkle

Moondust Eyeshadow Palette

These eyeshadows are so vibrant and pigmented, even a light swatch gives you fantastic colour pay off but if you want to go all out and get the ultimate intense colour payoff then you can use these shadows wet! When photographing this palette it was so hard to get the camera to pick up just how intensely packed with sparkle each of these shadows is. I love how iridescent and vibrant these are and how the shades look different, depending on lighting.

These 8 All New shades contain microfine bits of iridescent sparkle & lush 3D metallics which give them a diamond like effect.

Lithium / Magnetic / Galaxy / Element

My favourite shade changes on a daily basis, today I am loving galaxy which looks like a kaleidoscope of colours, beautiful and glittery lots of blues, greens and a hint of gray too. Its not for the faint of heart. What colour makes you most excited? Are you a magpie like me & the more sparkle the better?

These are smooth and buttery, they don’t feel chunky or heavy on the eye. They apply with ease and blend out beautifully. Glitter shadows have come a long way over the years, gone are those horrid gritty feeling hard to work with shadows and now we have these gorgeously pigmented smooth shadows which are packed with shimmer and sparkle.

I think this is pretty obvious but if you are not into sparkle & shimmer this is not the palette for you, if you are then GO GO GO, you need this in your life ASAP. Its beautiful and my photos do not do it justice. I am very impressed with the quality, vibrance and just how long these eyeshadows wear – they do not dull throughout the day. These shadows will take any eye look to that next level – if you don’t want to go all out you can just add a touch of colour to your look of use these wet as more of a liner. I’m obsessed and keep finding every excuse to use them.

So Happy 20th Birthday Urban Decay! What is your favourite Urban Decay product and what product is at the top of your Urban Decay wishlist? Surely it has to be the Moondust Palette.

5 From NYX Cosmetics

Up until a couple of years ago NYX was quite hard to get hold of in the UK & we would all see American bloggers rave about their products, I for one was very jealous so when Boots started to stock a selection of their products in their larger stores and we could also order from NYX online in the UK. I was so excited to get hold of a few bits & bobs. I thought I would share with you 5 of my most used NYX products. Let me know what products you use the most from NYX & if you have any recommendations for me to try.

Jumbo Eye Pencil in Sparkle Nude £5.00

I have a number of these Jumbo Pencils and absolutely love them. I am obsessed with cream shadows and find them so easy to apply & blend and they last all day on me so they have fast become my favourite product. NYX have a quite a large selection of colours in these Jumbo Pencils but I have been wearing this Sparkle Nude on all over the lid on its own. It is a pretty champagne bronze with a touch of glitter running through, it brightens up my look & lasts all day. The glitter is quite chunky & not for everyone but I do like to wear a little sparkle on my lids & the colour is just so pretty. Oh & NYX do these pencils in 32 colours!

5 Products From NYX

NYX Illuminator in Narcissistic £9.00

This is a very light champagne highlighter which looks so pretty worn on its own or layered with your blusher to give it a glow. The colour in this highlighter is very subtle and the shimmer is very fine & just catches the light on your cheeks and makes your skin look healthy. The powder is very finely milled and is easy to apply, a little goes a long way so don’t over apply, I like to take this on a duo fibre brush & lightly dust it across my cheekbones. Very pretty for the warmer months.

Powder Blush in Angel £6.00

It’s a peachy pink with a slight golden sheen running though and its one of my favourite blushers. I like that its not too pigmented and you can build it up without looking like Aunt Sally. Its so easy to blend and never looks patchy or cakey. It gives the cheeks a natural flush of colour & when the light hits the pretty gold sheen gives you a glow. Its not a glittery or shimmery finish but a very subtle sheen, I always travel with this & I love it for day or night.

Roll On Shimmer in Nude £4.25

I quite often pair this with my Jumbo Eye Pencils when I’m going out in the evening. The cream pencils act as a really good base / primer for the colour to really pop & it means these stay put all night long. This is the perfect colour for me as I love anything bronzy on my eyelids and it has the perfect amount of colour & shimmer. These Roll On Shimmers can be used wet for a really intense look that will stay in place without any shimmer ending up all over your face.

Fly With Me Mascara £11.50

This isn’t my favourite Mascara but I do like that it gives my lashes length and holds a curl. Its not as black as I’d hoped but it does make my eyelashes look long and very healthy & I really like that you can remove this with hot water & a flannel so that is convenient. I don’t get any flaking or smudging when I wear this either.

Have you tried any of the NYX products I have mentioned?

Shimmer Anyone

Bronze Shimmer Kisses / Pink Shimmer Kisses

It took a while to track both of these down – my Superdrug was always sold out and I can see why. They may look like your average blush / bronzer but they pack a punch. I was really impressed with them. I had them sat on my desk for a while waiting to take photos of them before I used them (I know I’m not the only one who does that). When I finally got round to using them I was really thrilled with the quality of them

As you know MUA is a brand with its emphasis on budget but they by no means scrimp on the quality. Both the Bronze Shimmer Kisses and the Pink Shimmer Kisses are £3 for 7.3g of product. Both have 4 colours to swirl your brush in for that perfect wash of bronze or blush. I have even been using the lightest colour for a brow and inner eye highlighter. They are quite the multi use product in my opinion. Which makes them even better value for money.

On the cheek they both give a lovely sheen – they’re not glittery at all. In fact they give a really nice shimmer. When the light hits your cheeks it makes you look fresh and glowing.  I’m thrilled I picked them up and have purchased a couple for Christmas Presents.

If I had to pick one over the other I think It would be the Bronze Shimmer Kisses as I have really pale skin and this is the perfect colour for me and it gives me a little healthy colour during these colder months. Have you tried either of these? Do they work for you?
