Up until a couple of years ago NYX was quite hard to get hold of in the UK & we would all see American bloggers rave about their products, I for one was very jealous so when Boots started to stock a selection of their products in their larger stores and we could also order from NYX online in the UK. I was so excited to get hold of a few bits & bobs. I thought I would share with you 5 of my most used NYX products. Let me know what products you use the most from NYX & if you have any recommendations for me to try.

Jumbo Eye Pencil in Sparkle Nude £5.00

I have a number of these Jumbo Pencils and absolutely love them. I am obsessed with cream shadows and find them so easy to apply & blend and they last all day on me so they have fast become my favourite product. NYX have a quite a large selection of colours in these Jumbo Pencils but I have been wearing this Sparkle Nude on all over the lid on its own. It is a pretty champagne bronze with a touch of glitter running through, it brightens up my look & lasts all day. The glitter is quite chunky & not for everyone but I do like to wear a little sparkle on my lids & the colour is just so pretty. Oh & NYX do these pencils in 32 colours!

5 Products From NYX

NYX Illuminator in Narcissistic £9.00

This is a very light champagne highlighter which looks so pretty worn on its own or layered with your blusher to give it a glow. The colour in this highlighter is very subtle and the shimmer is very fine & just catches the light on your cheeks and makes your skin look healthy. The powder is very finely milled and is easy to apply, a little goes a long way so don’t over apply, I like to take this on a duo fibre brush & lightly dust it across my cheekbones. Very pretty for the warmer months.

Powder Blush in Angel £6.00

It’s a peachy pink with a slight golden sheen running though and its one of my favourite blushers. I like that its not too pigmented and you can build it up without looking like Aunt Sally. Its so easy to blend and never looks patchy or cakey. It gives the cheeks a natural flush of colour & when the light hits the pretty gold sheen gives you a glow. Its not a glittery or shimmery finish but a very subtle sheen, I always travel with this & I love it for day or night.

Roll On Shimmer in Nude £4.25

I quite often pair this with my Jumbo Eye Pencils when I’m going out in the evening. The cream pencils act as a really good base / primer for the colour to really pop & it means these stay put all night long. This is the perfect colour for me as I love anything bronzy on my eyelids and it has the perfect amount of colour & shimmer. These Roll On Shimmers can be used wet for a really intense look that will stay in place without any shimmer ending up all over your face.

Fly With Me Mascara £11.50

This isn’t my favourite Mascara but I do like that it gives my lashes length and holds a curl. Its not as black as I’d hoped but it does make my eyelashes look long and very healthy & I really like that you can remove this with hot water & a flannel so that is convenient. I don’t get any flaking or smudging when I wear this either.

Draw The Line

Rimmel Sandaleyes Liners

A few weeks ago I received a Boots gift card for my birthday which I quickly spent on makeup. Shock horror. Boots were having their 3 for 2 across all makeup items so I picked up a fair few things 3 of those being some Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliners. These are fabulous. I had wanted to try them for a while and had seen some really good reviews about the Nude colour, I was excited to try them out.

Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in Black, Nude and Bronze

I’ve always been a huge fan of coloured eyeliner (I went back and got the blue and silver ones too) – even if it looks a little 80’s. I’ve found these waterproof Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohls really do stay put all day and I’m a devil for rubbing and messing with my eyes throughout the day and these stay put regardless. Rimmel claim they will withstand ‘tears, sweat, humidity’ and they don’t lie. These are stubborn and I was shocked with how well they lasted esp as they’re only £3.99.

They glide on the eye with minimum effort and they do not drag at all. They’re creamy and all of the ones I have tried (5 in total) are all really pigmented without having to go over and over the same line. They are an inexpensive way to get a flash of colour that will stay all day. Perfect for me as I hate to reapply when I am out and rarely carry much makeup with me .

The nude colour is perfect for the waterline to brighten tired eyes and make them look bigger. The black is a great bold black it’s really quite dark and that deep colour transfers well on to the lid or waterline. I also like the bronze shade for when I wear a neutral eye and it blends so well. It has a slight shimmer to it. Not glittery but when the light hits it looks almost metallic it’s really pretty.

These eyeliners come in 7 shades from a classic black to a gorgeous silver. I highly recommend you try to pick these up esp when on offer. Full price they are £3.99 from Boots. Such a total bargain. Have you tried any of these Rimmel eyeliners? How did you find them?

Shimmer Anyone

Bronze Shimmer Kisses / Pink Shimmer Kisses

It took a while to track both of these down – my Superdrug was always sold out and I can see why. They may look like your average blush / bronzer but they pack a punch. I was really impressed with them. I had them sat on my desk for a while waiting to take photos of them before I used them (I know I’m not the only one who does that). When I finally got round to using them I was really thrilled with the quality of them

As you know MUA is a brand with its emphasis on budget but they by no means scrimp on the quality. Both the Bronze Shimmer Kisses and the Pink Shimmer Kisses are £3 for 7.3g of product. Both have 4 colours to swirl your brush in for that perfect wash of bronze or blush. I have even been using the lightest colour for a brow and inner eye highlighter. They are quite the multi use product in my opinion. Which makes them even better value for money.

On the cheek they both give a lovely sheen – they’re not glittery at all. In fact they give a really nice shimmer. When the light hits your cheeks it makes you look fresh and glowing.  I’m thrilled I picked them up and have purchased a couple for Christmas Presents.

If I had to pick one over the other I think It would be the Bronze Shimmer Kisses as I have really pale skin and this is the perfect colour for me and it gives me a little healthy colour during these colder months. Have you tried either of these? Do they work for you?
