The Body Shop Vitamin C Range

The Body Shop Vitamin C Skincare

The Body Shop Vitamin C Skincare

Over the years (many years) I have used almost all of the skincare ranges from The Body Shop but the Vitamin C Range for some reason I hadn’t ever tried and I am kicking myself for not giving it a go sooner. The Vitamin C range is formulated to give your skin a boost of hydration giving it a gorgeous energising glow. I have been putting it to the test over the past 2 months and I’m absolutely smitten with the range. Earlier this year The Body Shop added two new products to this range, the first being

Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser* £16.00

This is such a lightweight water based moisturiser – it feels like a gel and I was very surprised at how quickly it absorbed into my skin, it was almost instantly. I like to use this in the morning because it’s a great way to give your tired skin a boost of hydration making it look and feel plumped and the Vitamin C helps your skin look glowing, making you look healthy and more awake. The zesty citrus scent helps energise you too, it smells so fresh and uplifting!

The packaging feels and looks luxurious, it’s in a weighty orange glass jar with a black lid, its sturdy and really good quality too.

There is no SPF in this which I know a few people are disappointed with but I like to apply a separate SPF every day so it’s not a problem for me but just something to note if you’re looking to use this as your daytime moisturiser. After using it almost daily for 2 months my skin feels smooth and is looking radiant. Its a welcomed addition to my skincare routine.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Range

Being someone that has quite naturally dull skin I welcome any product that promises to give me a natural glow – most of the time the products end up being a little disappointing but The Body Shop seem to have hit the nail on the head with both these new releases. The second new addition to the Vitamin C Range is,

Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer* £14.00

I like to use this on top of my moisturiser, it has quite a creamy texture but it’s not heavy or greasy and to my surprise, it has a really flattering peachy tint to it. I apply this mostly to the centre of my face, focusing on my forehead, nose & chin as this is great at blurring pores and fine lines making my skin look smooth as well as giving it a slight peachy glow. You see instant results with this product, it really helps combat the signs of fatigue and is just the perfect base for your makeup.

Instant Glow Enhancer

It has a velvet finish and your makeup seems to glide on. It also helps keep my foundation in place and looking its best all day/night. There is no shimmer in this which I really like, it gives your skin more of a natural glow, the colour adjusts to your skin tone (like magic) evening out your skin tone and I love the blurring effect it gives the skin. I really like the tube packaging & the fact its bright orange and will be so handy to travel with or throw in your handbag for giving your skin a pick me up throughout the day. I also think its a great moisturiser too if you have oily skin, it adds another good layer of hydration to your skin which for me is always a good thing.

So this is a bit of a multi-tasker – a primer, lightweight moisturiser and tinted cream all in one. I really recommend trying this! Oh, & it also has the same zesty orange scent – smells good enough to eat.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Skincare

Vitamin C Energising Face Mist* £10.00

This isn’t new but its new to me, I love using face mists and always have one on my desk but if I remember I do like to keep a couple in the fridge that makes them so refreshing and cooling especially in this crazy heat.

This face mist is an instant pick me up, it smells like oranges and it instantly cools the skin. Like the other products in this range it contains Camu Camu which is rich in vitamin C and aloe vera, so its hydrating, calming and helps boost the skin’s radiance. Its so nice on a warm day & you can spray on top of your makeup throughout the day to keep skin feeling fresh and hydrated.

I feel like The Body Shop has really stepped up their game over the past 18 months & are releasing some really great products. Let me know what products you have recently discovered from The Body Shop.

MONU Brightening Boost Serum

MONU Brightening Serum

MONU Skincare

MONU Skincare

This MONU Brightening Boost Serum* has been a staple in my summer skincare routine, I have been road testing it for about 3 months now and my skin loves it. It is a lightweight serum designed for more Mature Skin or those that have Sun Damage but I think it can be used by people of all ages and It’s an ideal product for people with a dull complexion as it leaves your skin instantly smooth and looking radiant.

I find it to be very hydrating and lightweight, I massage two pumps worth into my face and neck and that is quickly absorbed leaving my skin looking smooth, bright and feeling soft. I have been using it on the backs of my hands too as I do have a couple of age spots appearing & it seems to be helping them look lighter. I will keep applying it until I’ve run out & let you know if there are significant changes to them.

MONU Brightening Serum

So this serum promises to,

  • Lighten & Brighten Complexion
  • Improve Radiance
  • Reduce Hyperpigmentation
  • Even Skin Tone
  • Reduce Sun Damage
  • Plump skin & reduce the signs of wrinkles

That’s a lot of promises but I will say that you see almost instantly a brightening and smoothing of the skin which helps your complexion look radiant and healthy. I don’t have hyperpigmentation so can’t comment on that but my skin tone is looking even and a few dark spots around my eyes are looking less visible. I’m not too sure I have a huge amount of visible sun damage but I guess it can do no harm in keeping the effects of sun damage at bay.

This serum contains Vitamin C which helps combat free radicals and helps even skin tone. Also, Hyaluronic Microspheres which hydrate and plump the skin helping to reduce the visibility of wrinkles. Which is something I really need help with, I have quite a few wrinkles around my eyes & a few appearing on my forehead, so anything I can do to keep them as small and not notable. The packaging is also sleek and in a frosted bottle, it looks and feels expensive. It takes up no room as all in my skincare box & is a great size if you travel often, the bottle is so slim and has a very handy pump.

MONU Vitamin C Skin Brightening Serum

MONU Brightening Serum

I like the hydrating feel to this serum and how easily it absorbs into the skin. Its gives me radiant healthy looking complexion but its always hard to say definitively if a product is helping you look younger & diminish signs of sun damage. I’m naturally freckly and have quite fair skin so this serum can be doing no harm in helping fight the signs of ageing & sun damage. As I’ve said  in many posts I’m very much in to SPF and wearing it all year round but there are times when we are exposed to the sun & this serum seems like an effective way of giving your skin a boost to keep some of the first signs of ageing at bay and help you improve skin tone.

Its been a welcomed addition to my skincare routine & if asked I would recommend it to people that are concerned with dull skin & that want to give their skin a boost of Vitamin C to give them radiance and even out their skin tone. I also think this wears well under my makeup and helps my skin look radiant all day long. I think my mum would really like this serum.

Let me know what skincare products you are using to help give your skin radiance & let me know if you have tried anything from MONU and have any other recommendations of product that I should try from them.

Dream Time Enriching Night Cream

U Little Beauty is an Australian company who pride themselves on being Cruelty Free, Vegan, Natural and Organic. There are no nasties in their products. I have been using their Dream Time Enriching Night Cream* for over 6 weeks now and have been thrilled with the results.

U Little Beauty Skincare

This cream is a lovely whipped texture, it is light and quite cooling on the skin and has a subtle lavender scent which they say will also help you sleep (very handy). I apply this over my night serum and when I wake in the morning my skin is very soft, smooth and feels extremely hydrated. It is very gentle and not at all greasy, it sinks right in.

This 50ml jar is going to last me a long time as a little goes along way and it is so easy to massage into the skin. It leaves the skin almost instantly silky smooth, it is quite remarkable. As far as visible signs go, my skin is so much brighter since using this and smoother.

This cream is made in Byron Bay Australia and contains the Australian Kakadu Plum Extract, which has the worlds richest source of vitamin C. Vitamin C is essential for collagen which is a key structural protein of the skin. The Kaduka Plum is also rich in antioxidants which help reduce skin damage caused by free radicals and exposure to harsh environmental elements which can make your skin congested and dull. Also excellent at combating the signs of ageing. So this cream combats signs of dullness and keeps your skin looking its best.

If you’re looking for a lightweight night cream that will leave your skin feeling and looking fresh and radiant this is for you! I have to say Australia really know how to do good skincare!
