Jurlique Hand and Nail Care

Jurlique Rose Hand Cream 2016

Jurlique Rose Hand Cream 2016

I’m excited to Introduce you to 3 new and exciting products from one of my favourite skincare brands, Jurlique. They are releasing a complete hand care ritual and I think you are going to love them!

A little background – Jurlique is an Australian brand which was started back in 1985 by a husband & wife dedicated to harnessing the power of nature to create incredibly effective products. Their ethos was Nature + Science = Beauty and to this day Jurlique develops high-performance skincare, using potent, biodynamic (Biodynamics is a spiritual-ethical-ecological approach to agriculture, food production and nutrition), organic and natural ingredients sourced the world over.

I always get excited when Jurlique launch a new product and to have 3 to share with you today is pretty special. Jurlique has extended their hand care range to include an Exfoliating Treatment Mask, a Nail & Cuticle Treatment Oil and also a limited edition Rose Handcream Handpicked. Everything you need to keep your hands looking and feeling their best.

Jurlique Exfoliating Hand Treatment

Jurlique Exfoliating Hand Treatment* 100ml £20

This has a creamy texture with tiny exfoliating Jojoba beads which provide just enough scrub without being abrasive. I like that this is a multi-benefit 2 in 1 treatment mask and scrub. Apply a generous amount to the backs of your hands, fingers and forearms, relax for 5 minutes then with a little warm water massage off making use of the Jojoba beads. It leaves your hands velvety soft, smooth and nourished. It includes,

  • Red & White Clay – to absorb impurities
  • Jojoba Beads – to gently exfoliate
  • Shea Butter – to soften and hydrate
  • Calendula Extract – to nourish and protect

I can really see a difference in my hands after using this, they look healthier and they don’t get dry as quickly. I know a specific hand scrub isn’t a must have but if your budget allows for one then this Jurlique offering is luxurious and very effective. I have promised myself to make it part of my weekly manicure routine. Got to look after those hands, after all, its one of the areas that shows the first signs of ageing. You get 100ml of product and so that will last a good few months.

10ml for £12, I think this oil is a bargain & a product that will serve you well and last for ages and one that I am very excited to have in my collection. My cuticles will be in tip-top condition.

Jurlique Nail and Cuticle Treatment Oil

Jurlique Nail & Cuticle Treatment Oil* 10ml £12

I have to say that I have terrible cuticles, they are always dry, flaky and need a little TLC! This oil is just what I needed, it couldn’t have arrived at a better time. It’s an indulgent treatment oil that will nourish, condition and soothe cuticles as well as strengthen dry brittle nails.

This has a very fancy & fuss-free pipet dispenser so you only need a very small amount of oil on each cuticle, I would say 2 – 3 drops will be enough for both hands. I gently massage the oil around my cuticle and nails then leave it to sink in. It’s quite greasy so you may want to do this treatment when you have time to relax & not be on your computer, phone etc. The oil contains,

  • Rosemary Extract – to strengthen dry brittle nails
  • Horsetail Extract – to strengthen dry brittle nails
  • Carrot Root – to soothe cracked cuticles
  • Calendula – to nourish and soothe dry cuticles
  • Almond & Macadamia Oils – to intensely hydrate and restore moisture

Jurlique Rose Handcream ltd Edition

Jurlique Rose Handcream Handpicked* 150ml £36

This Jurlique release is a limited edition version of one of their most iconic and best-selling products – and I have to say this offering is my favourite Jurlique hand cream to date. This Rose hand cream is simply beautiful, everything from the outer cardboard packaging right down to the cream itself is so luxurious and smells so good.

This 2016 limited edition Handpicked version features Jurlique’s unique Rosa Gallica Flower Extract. This precious extract is drawn exclusively from this year’s vintage of the pure and potent Roses grown at the Jurlique Farm in the Adelaide Hills.

All the roses used in this limited edition product were handpicked and all the Rosa Gallica Flower Extract from this year’s harvest has gone into this luxurious hand cream so it won’t be used in another Jurlique product this year.

  • Sweet Almond Oil – to moisturise and soften
  • Rosa Gallica Flower Extract – to protect, restore moisture and soothe
  • Macadamia Oil – to intensely hydrate and restore moisture
  • Calendula – to soothe, soften and protect against dry skin

It’s a rich cream that will nourish, deeply moisturise and replenish dry hands. Leaving them feeling velvety soft and smelling beautiful. This isn’t a cream for your handbag, this is a beautifully packaged cream that will be beautiful on your vanity or bedside table so you are reminded to apply it throughout the day. You get a whopping 150ml of product and you need only the smallest amount to feel the benefits. This would make a really thoughtful gift or treat for someone special.

Which of the new Jurlique releases are you most excited for?

All three products are available from www.Jurlique.co.uk also at Debenhams and www.lookfantastic.com

Elemis Biotec Skin Energising Skincare

Elemis Biotec Skincare

Elemis Biotec Skincare

The Elemis Biotec range is focused on combating depleted cell energy which is often the result of lifestyle, environment, diet and stress which takes its toll on our skin. It makes our skin look dull, dehydrated, less firm and fatigued & these three products help to reboot our skins performance.

Biotec Skin Energising Day Cream £75

Both the day & night cream are bi phase and are packed with so many amazing ingredients to improve skin function, help your skin look radiant, protect it and encourage cell turnover and function. The white part has a creamy texture whilst the green part is a gel, two pumps massaged into your skin is all you need to deliver a boost of ingredients to help improve your skin’s performance,

Intensely moisturise skin with the BIOTEC Skin Energising Day Cream from Elemis. Specially formulated with an energising trio of acids, including Succinic, Lactic and Ferulic to hydrate and nourish skin, revealing a smoother, replenished complexion. With the brand’s Bio-Energy™ Complex of encapsulated Zinc and Copper, the lightweight moisturiser increases cell energy, whilst working to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Skin Energising Night Cream* £85

This is much like the day cream in texture and feels similar on the skin, it contains much the same cell boosting ingredients and is also a bi-phase formula. It contains these incredible ingredients for your skin:-

‘Intensely hydrate the skin whilst you sleep with the BIOTEC Skin Energising Night Cream from Elemis. Specially formulated with an energising trio of acids, including Succinic, Lactic and Ferulic to deeply nourish skin, revealing a smoother, replenished complexion. Powered by the brand’s Bio-Energy™ Complex of encapsulated Zinc and Copper, the lightweight moisturiser increases cell energy, whilst Calcium PCA and Sunflower help to minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.’

New Elemis Biotec Skincare

I’ve been using the day & night creams for about 3 weeks now, I do think they have helped give my skin a lovely boost of hydration and radiance. I thought the formula was rich, creamy and made my skin feel incredible, instantly smooth and hydrated. It feels like they’re giving my skin a shot of nourishment, I would say that I saw instant results and also over the past few weeks I think my skin is looking less red, not so dull and a little more refreshed. They leave skin feeling silky smooth and very soft.

The day cream feels lovely under makeup and my skin felt really moisturised throughout the day. The night cream is my favourite because its rich formula just seems to work a little magic overnight and I wake up with lovely refreshed skin.

The price point is more on the luxury side so if I had to recommend just one of them it would have to be the night cream over the day cream because I feel that overnight we get the most out of our skincare and we don’t pile makeup on top or SPF so I think the product is able to work a little better whilst we rest and I always see better results in the morning.

Biotec Skin Energising Day Cream

Elemis Biotec Skin Energising Cleanser* £39.50

This is a gel cleanser which you massage in with warm water and remove with a warm damp cloth, It did leave my skin very clean but I just wasn’t as impressed with the cleanser. I liked using it more in the morning because it felt energising on my skin but I felt like my skin didn’t feel very hydrated. Elemis say that:-

This step kick-starts the BIOTEC system, preparing the skin for optimum performance, creating a dynamic environment to activate the BIOTEC day and night moisturisers.

But I’m not 100% convinced. I will continue to use it a couple of times a week and see if I grow to like it. I have read quite a few glowing reviews so maybe I am writing it off a little too soon. I might try it as a first cleanse and follow it with more of a cream based product. It’s all trial & error I guess. The cleanser also contains some great ingredients for your skin:-

‘Specially formulated with an energising trio of acids, including Succinic, Lactic and Ferulic to reduces excess oil and rebalance skin, revealing a refreshed, revitalised complexion’

Elemis Biotec Skin Energising Cleanser

All in all I think these products are exciting and skincare seems to be getting more scientific by the day. Lots of advancements mean our products have a more impressive and potent list of ingredients which is deliver just what our skin needs. I’m excited to continue to use the Elemis Biotec Skincare System and I hope to see continuing results.

If you do want to try these but feel the price tag of the full sized products is just too much for you to commit to, Elemis do a great discovery version which includes a mini version of all three products for £35.00. This is a great way to try them all and see how they work for you.

Jurlique ltd edition Precious Rose Handcream

Jurlique Celebrating 30 Years

This year sees the brand celebrating 30 successful years and to celebrate their 30th anniversary Jurlique have crafted this special more intense version of their iconic Rose Hand Cream. Using the beautiful and fragrant Alchemist Rose and Pure Rosa Gallica Flower Water Jurlique have created the Limited Edition Precious Rose Hand Cream*.

For the past 30 years roses have been at the heart of Jurlique’s skin care bestsellers and this limited edition cream is a nod to their heritage. This special new release is truly an indulgent treat for your hands.

Jurlique Precious Rose Hand Cream

Jurlique Precious Rose handcream

Australian Skincare Brand Jurlique

The hand cream comes beautifully packaged in a sleek cream tube with red metallic writing and lid, it looks and feels very luxurious. It feels and smells indulgent, the rose scent is intense and beautiful (don’t think old lady think vibrant and luxurious). I really like rose scented products and they’re something Jurlique do very very well, this Precious Rose Hand Cream leaves my hands feeling instantly nourished and visibly smooth, there is no greasy residue left behind at all. If like me you have very dry hands then this cream will leave them velvety soft and it provides lasting hydration. After you apply this cream the rose fragrance stays on your hands for quite a while which is lovely.

You get a whopping 150ml of product and for a hand cream thats a substantial amount so this is going to last me months. Its currently sat (looking pretty) on my bedside table and I like to apply it morning and night taking time to really massage it in to my hands.

So this joins a very long line up of products I like & would recommend you trying, but remember this is limited edition so be quick if you want to treat yourself.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Range

The Body Shop Vitamin C Skincare

The Body Shop Vitamin C Skincare

Over the years (many years) I have used almost all of the skincare ranges from The Body Shop but the Vitamin C Range for some reason I hadn’t ever tried and I am kicking myself for not giving it a go sooner. The Vitamin C range is formulated to give your skin a boost of hydration giving it a gorgeous energising glow. I have been putting it to the test over the past 2 months and I’m absolutely smitten with the range. Earlier this year The Body Shop added two new products to this range, the first being

Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser* £16.00

This is such a lightweight water based moisturiser – it feels like a gel and I was very surprised at how quickly it absorbed into my skin, it was almost instantly. I like to use this in the morning because it’s a great way to give your tired skin a boost of hydration making it look and feel plumped and the Vitamin C helps your skin look glowing, making you look healthy and more awake. The zesty citrus scent helps energise you too, it smells so fresh and uplifting!

The packaging feels and looks luxurious, it’s in a weighty orange glass jar with a black lid, its sturdy and really good quality too.

There is no SPF in this which I know a few people are disappointed with but I like to apply a separate SPF every day so it’s not a problem for me but just something to note if you’re looking to use this as your daytime moisturiser. After using it almost daily for 2 months my skin feels smooth and is looking radiant. Its a welcomed addition to my skincare routine.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Range

Being someone that has quite naturally dull skin I welcome any product that promises to give me a natural glow – most of the time the products end up being a little disappointing but The Body Shop seem to have hit the nail on the head with both these new releases. The second new addition to the Vitamin C Range is,

Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer* £14.00

I like to use this on top of my moisturiser, it has quite a creamy texture but it’s not heavy or greasy and to my surprise, it has a really flattering peachy tint to it. I apply this mostly to the centre of my face, focusing on my forehead, nose & chin as this is great at blurring pores and fine lines making my skin look smooth as well as giving it a slight peachy glow. You see instant results with this product, it really helps combat the signs of fatigue and is just the perfect base for your makeup.

Instant Glow Enhancer

It has a velvet finish and your makeup seems to glide on. It also helps keep my foundation in place and looking its best all day/night. There is no shimmer in this which I really like, it gives your skin more of a natural glow, the colour adjusts to your skin tone (like magic) evening out your skin tone and I love the blurring effect it gives the skin. I really like the tube packaging & the fact its bright orange and will be so handy to travel with or throw in your handbag for giving your skin a pick me up throughout the day. I also think its a great moisturiser too if you have oily skin, it adds another good layer of hydration to your skin which for me is always a good thing.

So this is a bit of a multi-tasker – a primer, lightweight moisturiser and tinted cream all in one. I really recommend trying this! Oh, & it also has the same zesty orange scent – smells good enough to eat.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Skincare

Vitamin C Energising Face Mist* £10.00

This isn’t new but its new to me, I love using face mists and always have one on my desk but if I remember I do like to keep a couple in the fridge that makes them so refreshing and cooling especially in this crazy heat.

This face mist is an instant pick me up, it smells like oranges and it instantly cools the skin. Like the other products in this range it contains Camu Camu which is rich in vitamin C and aloe vera, so its hydrating, calming and helps boost the skin’s radiance. Its so nice on a warm day & you can spray on top of your makeup throughout the day to keep skin feeling fresh and hydrated.

I feel like The Body Shop has really stepped up their game over the past 18 months & are releasing some really great products. Let me know what products you have recently discovered from The Body Shop.
