Great Summer Lip Product

carmex2

This is a quick post to say I really like the new Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm Peach Sheer Tint SPF15 (wow, that’s a mouth full). Love this has SPF in.

I have been an avid user of Carmex and have many a little yellow tin in every handbag, so when I saw these Carmex Stick lip balms with a tint to them, I had to try it out. They are moisturising and the tint is a nice colour, just be mindful that it’s not a lipstick, and it doesn’t have the staying power of one. You will get a nice peace sheen to your lips, which will stay about 30 mins or so.

They are really moisturising and make your lips feel fresh. They also smell nice and sweet. I like my lip balms to have a scent to them, esp ones for the summer.  The fact it has SPF 15 in is a big plus for me, as I am really keen on using products with protection in them. It also has Aloe Vera and vitamin E in, both of which are very soothing and great for summer, when your lips tend to get dry with the heat.

All in all it’s a great inexpensive summer lip tint and I have been enjoying using it. I like that it’s in a stick with a twist up. Just don’t twist it up too far, as it can get stuck.

No7 Free Gift

Whilst i was in Boots i noticed that No7 were running a promotion. Spend £25 and get a free gift. I have had a few of these in the past. They are always in a good sized makeup bag and have sample sized products. Perfect for travel. So i picked up a couple of items as a beauty junkie i NEEDED the free gift. Right?!

Always nice when they package it up all lovely. Easily pleased.

I repurchased their Cleanse and Care Eye Makeup Remover. I think this will be the last time I repurchase this as they say they haven’t change the formula but I’ve found it really greasy since they repackaged it, I also seem to go through a bottle very quickly. I will use this bottle up then look for something new. Any recommendations. This was £7.75 for 100ml.

The next item was their Protect and Perfect Eye Cream. I’ve used and loved quite a few things from their Protect and Perfect line and eye cream is always something I like to try. I’ve not started using this yet as im currently using up my Germaine de Capuccini eye cream which has been great. I’m excited to use this eye cream, you get 15ml for £15 which is a great price compared to alot of my other eye creams.

Lastly I got their Beautiful Skin Purifying Mask. I have used this twice since i purchased it and its really weird. It heats up upon touching your skin and you rub it in and it acts like an exfoliator. Not too abrasive but you rub it in for about a minute then you leave it on your face for a further 2 minutes before washing it off. It’s not a mask that hardens or goes tight on the skin, it justs sits on top of the skin sinking in then leaves your skin really soft after washing off. I like it so far. So you get 75ml for £12.50 quite a fair price. A little goes a long way with this product s should last you a while.

OK so those 3 products added up to £35.25 then i used my lovely £5 No7 Voucher which took it down to £30.75 (I B Well Good at Maths). So i qualified for the free gift. Am I the only one that gets a little excited by a free gift?!

This free gift is in a blue coloured see through bag, i quite like it and its waterproof so perfect for travelling and for things like suntan lotion. No7 say the free gift is worth £23. So thats fab

The Free Gift is Blissfull Body Wash, Triple Protection Tinted Moisturiser, Protect and Perfect Serum, Exquisite Curl Mascara and Liplicious Moisturising Balm. I’m excited to try the tinted moisturiser & the mascara. Have you got your hands on a free gift & of so what did you purchase to get to the £25?

Pixi Illuminating Tint and Conceal

The Pixi store just off Carnaby Street in London is a really lovely shop. Their staff are always friendly and eager to help with matching you up to foundations & explaining their products. Many of which have dual purpouse. I just love products that double up. Saves space and money.

I have had a few Pixi products over the years. Their eyeshadows are pigmented and have great staying power. So i wanted to pick up something that would act as a skin illuminator and help make my skin look more glowing and fresh for summer (if it ever turns up.) I was directed to this Pixi Illuminating Tint and Conceal it has a tinted moisturiser as well as a concealer which i thought was fab. I was matched to the shade No1 Light Glow (no tan here.)

The Illuminating tint part of it i have used in two ways. First i have used it as a light almost sheer coverage tinted moisturiser. It doesn’t provide much coverage but is so good for summery warm days when you do not want to wear alot of makeup but it gives your skin a really fresh healthy glow. I have also used it as more of a illuminating base under a foundation for a underlying glow whist getting better coverage with your foundation. So it works well for both uses.

The other part of this product is a concealor. Its a creamy consistency thats quite dry initially but if you warm it up on the back of your hand or with your fingers it applies alot better. I have this in a light shade as i like to use it under my eyes and i like to lighten that area rather than cover up with a dark concealor.  It a good quality concealor and if you powder it it will last all day.

This Pixi Illuminating Tint and Conceal costs £21.50 and you get 28.4g of the tinted moisturiser and 2.6g of concealor.  It contains lots of great ingredients for your skin like Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Vitamin C and one of the best parts is it contains SPF 20.

The concealor is the round swatch and the illuminating moisturiser is the line swatch.

I will be using this alot if the weather ever sorts its self out and gives us a summer!! What Pixi products have you enjoyed using and would recommend?

My First Cream Blush

I am a huge fan of Topshop Makeup, its price point, the quality and most defiantly the packaging are all bang on trend all the time. I really like it. I’m building my collection slowly but I am excited to try alot more of what they have to offer. So I purchased my first ever cream blush, I know i’m slow on the uptake. I’ve read and heard lots of great things about the Topshop cream blush range so i decided to take a look and fell in love with the colour Flush, its a great true rose pink colour and i think a pink is a good place to start my cream blush collection.

Topshop say this is a cream to powder blush and i really like the finish of it, it doesn’t make your skin look powdery and  the colour pay off is great & is so build-able so you can achieve a really vivid colour if thats the look your going for. I purchased this in store for £6 and you get 4g of product, now that is a great price for a blush that has great pigmentation and good staying power. I am a fan and will get more colours for sure. I’m also such a sucker for cute packaging. I get totally sucked in by it & Topshop Makeup is in cute dotty packaging so thats a plus in my book.

I have to say that the colour of Flushon the Topshop website does not look like the real think it looks very orange on screen and in real life it is a very rose pink. So be aware of that.

Do you have any Topshop makeup recommendations for me? I’d love to hear them.
