I saw this tag on Amy’s Blog srslylou and thought it looked fun. The idea is that you are only allowed to pick one product / item from your collection for each question and your answers should leave you with a capsule collection of products you couldn’t live without. So here goes,
The Question: If you could only have one ______ what would it be? And, in a few words, why?
Primer
Murad Skin Perfecting Primer Dewy Finish – love this is comes out with a slight tint and it creates a lovely smooth base for your foundation. I get a really oily T-Zone and that’s where I apply this and it makes my foundation look amazing throughout the day. It doesn’t break down or look greasy, it says it’s a dewy finish but I think it just makes my skin glow without looking shiny. I would pick this over any primer. It does come in other finishes but I like the dewy look.
Base Product
YSL Perfect Touch Foundation – This was so tough for me to pick one, as I change my base in an almost daily basis. I currently have 11 on rotation (excessive, I know). I’d pick this one as it has medium to full coverage and gives the most flawless finish but you can also apply it lightly and have a more sheer finish. This lasts me for ages and it wears better throughout the day than any other base I own. It’s what I wear when I have a Wedding to attend or a special occasion.
Concealer
Benefit Boiing shade 2 – This stuff covers imperfections like a hero! I have used it for years and always go back to it. It cover redness, blemishes and dark spots and it stays in place a heck of a long time This stuff is heavy-duty.
Powder
Mac Select Sheer Pressed Powder in NW25 This powder gives the skin a smooth look. I often forget about it and use something new, only to rediscover it and fall in love all over again. I don’t think it makes your skin look like you have powder on, which is a bonus. I always take it away with me on holiday.
Blush (cream or powder)
Avon 24k Golden Glamour Duo It was so hard to pick just one blush, this one has a blush and a highlighter in one (is that cheating?). I don’t think this is available any more – but I have featured it in many a blog post.
Bronzer
NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in the shade Sunny – You know I love this bronzer. It’s a matte bronzer that looks beautiful and sun-kissed. I am currently hunting for a backup for my stash. All my other bronzers are slightly redundant now that I have this in my life
Highlighter
Topshop Highlighter in Sunbeam I am not someone who uses a highlighter on a daily basis but I do like this one from Topshop. It is a really pretty gold shimmer and is perfect with a tan.
Make-Up Brush (single)
Real Techniques Stippling brush hands down my number one brush. I use it to apply my foundation, creme blush and even my concealer. This brush is so good – I even bought one for my mum. I also love that it’s pink.
Eyebrow Product
HD Brow Palette in Foxy This came in a Glossybox over a year ago, it’s the only brow product I use. It has 4 colours and I use the darkest one as my brows are very dark. I really like filling in my brows and this product is perfect, although it’s quite bulky to travel with.
Eye shadow (single)
I had to think long and hard about what single eyeshadow I couldn’t live without & I would have to say it was Woodwinked by Mac. I just love that colour. I wear neutrals most of the time and I wear this colour on its own more often than not.
Eyeliner
Loreal Super Liner Black Lacquer Liquid Eye – This lasts so well on me and the colour is such a deep black. I like to use this eyeliner for making a really thin line and the nib is precise and easy to use. I recommend this liner to everyone.
Mascara
Revlon Grow Luscious If you want a Mascara that gives you Volume and makes your lashes look fluttery and pretty than this is the mascara for you. It is my HG and I will forever repurchase. I have it in Brown & Black.
Lipstick, Lip Gloss or Lip Stain
Mac Bombshell is without a doubt my most worn and most loved lipsticks. I am not a lipgloss kind of girl. Bombshell is a really pretty pink with a hint of sparkle & I love it. I have repurchased this a few times.
Lip Liner
I don’t own any lipliners.
Lip Balm
Caudalie Lip Conditioner This lipbalm is very hydrating and feels so nice on my lips. I use it before applying my lipstick. It smells luxurious too. I took this when I flew to SF which is an 11 hour flight and my lips were super soft and moisturised.
Nail Polish
Rimmel 60 Seconds in 503 Mind The Gap, Victoria This is a soft powder blue colour and it is stunning. I really like the formula of these Rimmel 60 Second polishes and have quite a few shades but this one in particular is gorgeous.
This was a really fun tag, although it was so hard to narrow down some of them to just one product. Made me realise I have far too many nail polishes and base products. Everything I have picked above are by far my favourite stand out products.
If you do this tag be sure to let me know. I would love to see what you pick, especially for base and eyeshadow.
Totally agree with you on Benefit Bo-ing, that stuff is made of miracles! Ah-mazing! Great post too.
Belle x
Mascara & Maltesers
Thanks Belle – Its the best concealer I have ever tried & I will forever repurchase it.
Ooh I think this is an awesome tag, I’ll definitely be doing this! I really love boi-ing too, it’s so good! xo
So good, It has lasted me a long time too & I use it most days. So It is well worth the money
YSL packaging is so gorgeous! And I’ve been obsessed with MAC lipsticks lately, I’ll check this shade out! xx
