Five Under £5 January 2016

Five Under £5 January 2016

I had so much fun taking part in the December Five Under £5 and was lucky enough to win Julia’s picks which was so exciting (I secretly wanted that phone case so badly). If you want to join in and link up with Julia from Rainbeaubelle then head on over to her post and get involved. I love seeing all the bargains that everyone finds.

So first up is a magazine I promised myself a few years ago I wasn’t going to just buy all the glossy magazines each month because they generally went unread and thats a waste of money but also because the content isn’t always great and they seem to be filled with more adverts than content. Saying that I have come to really enjoy Hello Fashion each month, its a relatively new magazine (I think it started last year). There are so few adverts in and the content is really good. I buy this every month and I’m never disappointed, oh & it is only £1 which is fab.

I burn candles like a crazy lady and I like reusing the glass jars which they come in too, so when I saw ASDA were selling these monogrammed candles for just £2 each I bought a few. The candles them selves are unscented but the jars are ideal to reuse with tea lights and are the perfect size for the small Yankee Candles too. I couldn’t resist.

Jan 2016 Five Under £5

Tea is my drink of choice, I always have a cup on the go. For 2016 I’m trying to drink more caffeine free tea and although these are not a new discovery for me I have stocked up on them to see me through January. This Raspberry & Peach Tea is from Lidl and its so refreshing, sometimes I leave it to cool & pop a few ice cubes in so its more like an iced tea. Either way its lovely and Lidl have quite a few caffeine free fruit teas (of which I have them all). Oh & a box of 40 bags is only 89p. If you have any tea suggestions leave them below – I love discovering new teas.

My January 2016 Five Under £5

I spied this old style plastic milk bottle Home Bargain and thought it would be good for smoothies and juices (which I drink a lot of). I bought two and they’re pretty cute. I am sucker for this kind of thing even if I really don’t need them, it was less than £2 for two so a complete bargain.

Last up is this postcard from Paperchase, I can never walk past that shop without going in and I never leave empty handed. I do like their postcard selection and in particular their positive slogan ones, I have quite a few pinned up on my office wall & fridge just little positive reminders each day. You could also frame them which I think would look really good. They are inexpensive & cost less than £1.

Let me know if you take part this month, I’d love to see what your bargain discoveries have been.

So before you even get to peek inside this bag of treats you notice the pretty metallic rose gold makeup bag, its quite large, has two compartments  and is very well made, it would make the perfect travel makeup bag. I have no idea how Harrods have managed to squeeze all these beauty treats inside but you get up to 18 cult, luxurious and some of Harrods top selling beauty products. So many brands and products you will recognise.

A few of the items I’m most excited about are,

Rodial Dragon Blood Eye Masks Pack of 6 – I love using eye masks, they’re so good for giving your peepers a pick me up after a long flight or late night. I haven’t tried anything from Rodial but I have heard lots of good things about their Rodial range. These are designed to hydrate and refresh whilst also de puffing and giving an instantly bright eyed appearance.

Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base 5ml – I have only heard positive things about the Burberry makeup range and it always looks so beautifully packaged. This is a multi tasking base that will protect, moisturise and illuminate your complexion. It can be used alone, as a primer or blended with foundation.

By Terry Baume De Rose 3g – I have had one of these super cute mini pots before & absolutely fell for the hype. I can 100% see why this is a cult favourite in the beauty world. This lipbalm is soothing, hydrating and nourishing, so your lips are getting quite the VIP treatment with this. Its so good to have this back in my makeup bag and I am going to enjoying using it.

Bloom With Harrods Beauty GWPHarrods Gift With Purchase

Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer 8ml – A great quality nail polish & a sweet Spring shade. This will be going straight on my toes. All I need now is for the weather to bring some sunshine & my feet will be flip flop ready.

Decléor Life Radiance – Double Radiance Scrub 15ml – A wonderful spa brand with an emphasis on quality, I have tried a few products from this brand & never been disappointed. This scrub combats dullness and restores radiance to your skin. Perfect for using during Summer when you want to wear a light base, this will help your skin look full of life & radiant.

Diptyque Roses Scented Candle 70g – This is my first Diptyque candle & its just beautiful. The scent is floral & fresh, so this is the perfect time of year to burn it. I was so very happy to see this included in the GWP. Its a mini version but still it will last a decent amount of time.

Eve Lom Cleanser & Muslin Cloth 30ml – This pioneering beauty balm was first introduced to the beauty industry 29 years ago, so it is a cult classic & very much at the forefront of balm cleansers. I am addicted to cleansing and think this will be so good at taking my makeup off and leaving my skin soft and clean.

Givenchy Phenomen’eyes Mascara 4g – This mascara has spherical brush designed to be precise and give you ultimate control over the brush. I love trying new mascaras, especially high end ones, so this is a very exciting addition to my makeup stash.

Kiehl’s Créme De Corps 30ml – I have used this quite a few times and have to say its one of the best body lotions out there. Its jam packed with so many skin beneficial ingredients including vitamins A & E, beta carotene and aloe vera. Relaxing Wishlist

Relaxing Wishlist

 1/2/3/4/5/6/7

I’m currently in the middle of moving house and its taking its toll on me. I’m very tired and have aching muscles and in need of a huge pamper session but sadly all my products are in boxes so I thought I’d do a wish list full of relaxing products.

Deep Sleep Pillow Spray £16.00 – I have heard so many wonderful reviews of this and I have so many things on my mind at the moment that I am not sleeping very well so a few sprays of this would be very welcome.

Weleda Lavender Relaxing Bath Milk £12.95 – My new house has a really nice big bath and I’m very much looking forward to long soaks in the bath and this bath milk sounds very relaxing and the perfect thing to sooth my aches.

Cowshed Knackered Cow Relaxing Room Candle £30.00 – I adore burning candles and this one sums me up so well. I am such a knackered cow at the moment. I will be treating myself to one of these once I’ve moved & unpacked everything.

LUSH Bunch of Carrots  £5.95 – How cute are these! I have to try them before they’re gone. I always miss the ltd edition collections at LUSH. They’re also a great calorie free Easter Treat! Ideal if you’re trying to be healthy.

Therapie Himalayan Detox Salts £37.00 – I have used these before and love them. They smell so good and make you feel all warm and relaxed. After you bath in these you will asleep within the hour. They completely knocked me out and I slept like a baby. I need to treat myself to a new tub. I have never tried anything like these before, they’re so calming.

Green & Spring Relaxing Body Lotion £22.00 – Packing and lifting boxes takes it out of you and isn’t great for your skin either so this body lotion sounds not only relaxing but it will keep me all hydrated and my skin very soft.

Jurlique Lavender Hydrating Mist £21.50 – I really like using face mists, they’re a great way to cool down, freshen up or just keep your skin hydrated and this Lavender one sounds relaxing and the perfect way to keep my skin looking fresh during the move.

Have you tried any of the products on my wish list? Or have any skincare / relaxing tips for moving house?

Neal & Wolf Indulgence Scented Candle

Neal and Wolf Candle

Neal and Wolf Candle

I love having candles burning and think a nice scented candle can lift your mood and make your home smell amazing. I was so excited to receive this Neal & Wolf Indulgence Scented Candle*, especially after reading lots of amazing reviews.

From the get-go this candle felt luxurious, the outer packaging is a pretty soft clean magnolia colour with just the name of the candle on and when you open the box and see the candle is in a deep purple jar it is a lovely surprise. It looks beautiful sitting on my sideboard. I really like the colour!

When you open the box you can already smell the scent and if you’re familiar with the haircare range from Neal & Wolf you will recognise it instantly. It smells so luxurious, like an expensive Spa. They have developed the scent in a Perfume House and have really come up with a relaxing, luxurious scent that fills not only the room the candle is burning but the whole house. My husband says he can smell it even when it isn’t lit.

Neal and Wolf Candle

Neal & Wolf describe this a lot better than I ever could ‘It bursts with mandarin and orange blossom until it melts to floral aromas of lily, ylang-ylang and orchid

I find the scent relaxing and I like to burn this when I am in the bath, I keep it lit for around an hour and find that you can still smell its fragrance long after it has been blown out. I like to trim the wick after each use to ensure it burns clean. This candle doesn’t give off any soot and is lasting me well. This Neal and Wolf Candle has up to 45 hours burn time.

I think it would make a gorgeous gift (my mum has been dropping hints that she wants one) or even as a treat for yourself. This is perfect if you love luxury candles, this is a candle that won’t break the bank and that will make your house smell amazing Go on treat yourself x
