New In My Beauty Stash #4

new in my beauty stash May 2017

Over the past 5 weeks or so I have made a few purchases so I thought I would give you a quick low down on them.

Nip & Fab Eyeshadow Palette in 01 Sculpted £10.95

I know most of you are aware that Nip & Fab have added makeup to their range and it is available in some Superdrug stores. I was super excited to see the stand in my local store and I was very restrained to only buy one item, when I could have gone to town and bought the entire collection. I almost bought the foundation but I just couldn’t resist this beautiful 12 pan neutral eyeshadow palette, it is so ‘me’ and all the shades are ones I wear on a daily basis which means I will (and have been) get alot of use from it.

The packaging is slim, sleek and feels so nice, I like that it is clear so you’re able to see all the shadows, there is something so satisfying about that! As I said you get 12 shades and they’re a good mix of creams, deep browns and taupes. 8 of the shades matte but you also get 2 shimmers and 2 shimmer infused mattes, so a great selection.

Bath & Body Works Pocketbac in Melon Forever £2.50

I always have a couple of these hand sanitisers on the go they’re so good to pop in your handbag for keeping those pesky germs at bay. This Melon scent is from their new Summer launches and it smells damn good, a mix of sweet and fruity. Let me know what your favourite scents are, I quite often get the Warm Vanilla Sugar or anything Christmas scented.

B. Pure Sensitive Micellar Cleansing Wipes £2.99

I have bought a few products this year from the B. Pure range which is exclusive to Superdrug & I have been impressed with them all so far. These Micellar Wipes were free when I bought their Exfoliating Cleanser and I have to say as far as face wipes go these are very good. You get 25 wipes in a pack and they have a hard plastic close top which is fantastic at keeping the wipes fresh and moist for longer. The wipes are soft, fragrance free and gentle on the skin, they are enriched with Witch Hazel, Vitamin E, Aloe and Cucumber extract. So very hydrating, antibacterial and soothing for the skin. I have purchased a second pack of these because they’re super handy to have in my makeup bag. If you haven’t tried the B. Range from Superdrug then I highly recommend checking them out, they have a great selection of makeup and skincare.

Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser £5.99

I can’t get enough of the Superdrug own brand skincare, they have a few collections all focused on different skin concerns. This time I picked up their hot cloth cleanser which also came with a muslin cloth & it was only £4 which is an utter bargain. This has such a creamy texture which feels so nice on the skin when you’re massaging it in. It breaks down makeup with ease but I would say if you like to wear quite heavy eye makeup then you might want to go in first with an eye makeup remover as this doesn’t always remove all my mascara. Using a muslin cloth is a great way to gently exfoliate the skin without being abrasive and I love the feeling of cleansing my face using a warm cloth. The cleanser was so gentle, it didn’t sting or irritate my eyes and it left my skin feeling smooth, clean and refreshed, I might even go so far as to say radiant.

essence luminous matte bronzing powder

Essence Luminous Matte Bronzing Powder in 01 Sunshine £3.00

Essence have released some beautiful products into their Spring / Summer collection and I couldn’t leave the shop without this bronzer. This bronzer is available in two shades, I opted for the lighter of the two and it gives me that perfect mix of warm and glow. The outer bronze ring is matte and the inner ring has a subtle luminous glow. I swirl my brush so it picks up both colours and add it to my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose and it leaves my skin looking healthy, bronzed but with a subtle fresh glow.

The powder feels silky smooth and it reminds me of my beloved Soap & Glory Solar Powder and it gives a very similar satin finish. As I said it has quite a subtle colour pay off which makes it a great everyday bronzer.

So those are a few new additions to my stash this month, let me know if you have tried anything from my roundup & let me know what new products you have discovered recently.

Five products under £5

Five products under £5

Bath & Body Works Hand Sanitisers – I know these are quite hard to get hold of in the UK & I tend to stock up if I go to America or if anyone I know goes on holiday there I ask them to get a shed load of them because they’re 5 for $5 (bargain). I was down to my last bottle & there is no USA trip on the horizon so I bit the bullet & took to eBay, there are quite a few UK based sellers & although you won’t get them for anywhere near as cheap as US prices, they’re still so fun to have. I bought three sweet scents & I’m so pleased with them all. So if you’re looking to order a couple I bought mine from this

Collection Eyes Uncovered Eyeshadow Palette £3.99 – I just can’t say enough good things about these Collection Palettes you get 6 great quality eyeshadows in each palette & there are 3 palettes to pick from. I have 2 out of the 3 but the Nude Bronze is the one I have been using the most, if you love gold, bronzy shimmers then this is the one for you. This Nude Bronze palette is beautiful and for an affordable brand the colours are pigmented and very good quality. All the shadows in this palette have some shimmer in them, so if you want a more matte palette then the Nude Palette might be the one for you. I have used this palette so much since I got my hands on it. If you haven’t checked these out you really should!

MUA Sweet Sheen Lipbalms* £2 – These were released as part of their Spring / Summer 2015 collection there are 6 pretty shades available and these 2 colours are my current favourites. They give your lips a light wash of colour and feel hydrating and comfortable. These are handy to have in your handbag for applying a pinch of colour on the go. All 6 shades are perfect for the warm weather & look glossy and pretty on the lips. I have been alternating between these two colour this month and love them both.

Essence Gel Waterproof Eyeliner £2.30 – I wasn’t too fussed at first that these were waterproof, I initially loved how creamy, soft and pigmented they are. They glide on without any tugging and the colour is even and looks vibrant. If you want to smudge these out to create a smokey eye then you best be quick because after a few minutes the colour isn’t going anywhere. This liner will last all day on your lids & looks as fab after 8 hours as it did when you first applied it. There is no need for a pencil sharpener (they’re so 1999, these are twist up). Now on to it being waterproof, yes it might be a pain to remove but it means your liner won’t smudge, transfer or end up halfway down your face & if you need a liner for your summer holiday then this is a really affordable option. They come in 6 colour options & I have brown & black but if you’re looking for something more colourful then you can get blue, green & purple.

Origins Facial Brush* £5 – First off can we address how cute this is! Also it is so very soft, the bristles are not abrasive at all so if you’re worried about it being damaging or a little harsh on your skin it really isn’t. This manual hand held facial brush is perfect for gently exfoliating your skin, I have been using it mostly on my nose & chin & its the perfect size brush for those areas. You use it with a cleanser & I have been using the Origins White Tea Cleanser, this brush helps buff away the dead skin & build up of the days grime & dirt to reveal glowing healthy skin. Its so lightweight & compact that it would be ideal to take away with you on holiday & for £5 I think its a bargain. This gets two thumbs up from me, I love it.

Products that are marked with an * have either been sent to me for my consideration or I’ve received at events. I’m under no obligation to review them on my blog. However if I do, the reviews are 100% my own.

Bath & Body Works Christmas Scents

B&BW Christmas Selection

B&BW Christmas Selection

I am feeling extra festive this year, which is quite unlike me (normally a Bah Humbug). These Bath & Body Works Christmas Hand Sanitisers are fuelling my festive feelings. They all smell incredible. My brother kindly braved B&BW in New York & I think he did well picking me out some Christmas scents.

They have such a huge selection & I have always wanted to try the festive ones. The five I have are,

Ginger Snap – This smells like warm ginger tea both spicy and festive. I love it & it smells good enough to eat. It’s a spicy scent and this has become a firm favourite already. I think this was a Halloween release but it smells quite festive to me.

Winter Citrus Wreath – This smells a little more grown up & less sweet than many of the others. Its warm citrus scent is uplifting and very festive.

Pink Prancer Sugared Strawberries This is a blend of sugary sweet strawberries and apricot. The only downside is this has glitter & that does come off on your hands. So this might be better suited to teens. I’m going to pass this one on to my niece, she will love it. It smells quite strongly of strawberry, it’s a sweet scent and would be perfect if there wasn’t any glitter. Also, it’s not a very festive scent.

Merry Cookie -A warm scent of buttery sugar cookies with a touch of vanilla bourbon-flavoured frosting. Sweet & festive this smells like baking cookies. I can’t get enough of this, it smells SO sweet & delicious.

Vanilla Bean Noel  Vanilla, warm caramel and rich comforting cream. To me, this smells almost identical to Merry Cookie & that, not a bad thing. Its sweet & the scent of vanilla is strong. It reminds me of icing on cakes.

There are so many more scents I want to try & really hope one day soon the UK gets its very own Bath & Body Works. Let me know what your favourite scents are.

Vanilla Addict

Vanillla

I love my Bath & Body Works Pocket Bac’s, they’re a fun & fragrant way of keeping your hands clean on the go. I always have one (OK at least 2) in my handbag, they’re small and perfect for popping in your car, bag or having on your desk at work. I’ve a few stocked up & whenever anyone I know visits America I get them to pick me up a few. They’re normally on offer 5 for $5, bargain!

My favourite ones are their Vanilla scents. I like how sweet they smell, their Christmas Sugared Vanilla Wish is amazing! I wish these were easier to get hold of. I have seen a few eBay sellers with them available. Let me know if you have tried these Pocket Bac’s & which scents are your favourite.

Here are a few eBay seller’s I have found 1, 2, 3 I am VERY tempted to order some.
