Lacura Thermal Spring Facial Care* £1.99

This is a new release from Aldi’s skincare brand Lacura, who seem to produce some of the best affordable skincare on the highstreet. I have tried quite a few of their products and they always impress me. This Thermal Spring Moisturiser comes packaged in a frosted glass jar which makes the product feel luxurious and a lot more expensive than it is.

The cream its self is formulated for stressed, sensitive skin and is infused with natural thermal water to soothe and moisturise the skin. It contains containing minerals and trace elements which come from natural, mineral groundwater that emerges from the ground at a temperature of over 20°C. This makes a really nice daily moisturiser that does a good job at hydrating and soothing the skin. There is no SPF in this so you will need to wear a separate one but I really like this and think it would appeal to all ages. I want to try a few more products from this thermal spring line and think this is another wonderful release from Lacura.

Superdrug Vitamin E Nourishing Eye Cream £2.99

I really like a lot of products from Superdrug’s own skincare line and think they make such great quality affordable options. I’ve been using this eye cream religiously since December at I still have quite a bit of product left. You need only a pea sized amount for both eyes and I just tap it in around the orbital bone and it helps to hydrate, nourish and smooth that area. Its not the lightest in texture but if you tap it in until its absorbed it doesn’t leave the eye area feeling greasy. Its very gentle and never irritates my eyes. I also like the cleanser and moisturiser from this Vitamin E range. For £2.99 I highly recommend trying it out.

Garnier Skin Active Clearly Brighter SPF15 Moisturiser

This is a lightweight daily moisturiser that helps hydrate, brighten and smooth out my skin. Its non greasy and absorbs quickly, It also smooths out my skin so I find it wears well under my makeup. It has contains anti oxidant rich Vitamin C and E as well as gentle exfoliating Lip-Hydroxyl Acid (salicylic acid). This is a great affordable moisturiser, especially if you have dull skin and its a nice option for the warmer months because it is lightweight on the skin. It does have a light citrus scent to it which isn’t offensive but I do with it was fragrance free and I would have preferred it to have a higher SPF but I do like this moisturiser and have been using it a lot over the past 4 months.

Superdrug Simply Pure Hydrating Serum £2.69

I seem to be all about the skincare that soothes, hydrates & nourishes (I have dull, dehydrated skin) and this absolute bargain of a serum from Superdrug is one of the best I have EVER tried. Bold claims I know. I was introduced to this by The Ting Thing who sings its praises & I trust her opinion 100%,  so I had to track it down (its almost always sold out in my local Superdrug).

I’m now on to my 3rd bottle and I’m still loving using it because it just leaves my skin feeling so incredibly soft and my fine lines are reduced because it is extremely hydrating. It contains Hyluronic Acid which helps your skin retain moisture, most of us skincare addicts have heard of this wonder ingredient and I was surprised to see that this purse friendly serum had this listed as an ingredient. So its a fantastic serum if your skin is in need of hydration and is looking a little lackluster. It feels light on the skin and doesn’t take long for it to skink in. It is also fragrance free and alcohol free which is wonderful news if you have sensitive skin.

If I could recommend only one of my four favourite affordable products it would 100% be the Simply Pure Hydrating Serum – its a steal at £2.69 (you best be adding it to your MUST try list).

Aldi Lacura Caviar Skincare

Aldi Lacura Caviar Skincare

Aldi Lacura Caviar Skincare

When Aldi first released its eagerly awaited Caviar skincare range it sold out almost immediately which isn’t surprising after all the rave reviews it received, from the likes of Good Housekeeping to the Guardian. I have tried a few skincare products from budget-friendly supermarket Aldi and I have to say they have always impressed me. I love to find purse friendly alternatives that work.

So the Lacura Caviar range has ingredients that you expect to find in more expensive brands but Aldi are known for bringing affordable alternatives to the masses and they hit the headlines with this range. The key ingredients that everyone’s talking about are

Caviar – This ingredient is known to revitalise and promote regeneration and collagen production. As well as protecting skin from environmental aggressors.

Snow Algae – This ingredient is known to help restore your skins natural glow and increase hydration

Affordable Aldi Caviar Skincare

Lacura Caviar Illumination Day Cream SPF15* £6.99

This moisturiser isn’t lightweight as I hoped but it doesn’t feel greasy on the skin, I like to take a minute to massage it into my skin and I don’t use too much product. It has a generic cream scent which isn’t unpleasant or overpowering. The cream feels very hydrating and leaves my skin soft. I like that it contains SPF15 UVA & UVB protection as well as Hyaluronic Acid which has become such a popular and sought-after ingredient in skincare because of it ability to help skin retain moisture, it’s also good at protecting skin from environmental aggressors. It contains the two ingredients mentioned above, Caviar & Snow Algae so for a very affordable price you’re getting an ingredient rich moisturiser. I can see why this flies off the shelves and has become so popular.

Alsi Caviar Moisturising Day Cream

Lacura Caviar Illumination Night Cream* £6.99

This has a similar texture and scent to the day cream, it’s slightly creamier in colour. This has been a really lovely night cream and it leaves your skin feeling supple, hydrated and smooth by morning. It contains mostly the same key ingredients as the Caviar day cream but it also has Pro-Vitamin B5 which helps soothe and repair skin, so by morning your skin is looking and feeling a little better. Again this night cream contains that sought-after Caviar, Snow Algae and Hyaluronic Acid so if you use both the day & night cream in your routine you’re giving your skin a real boost of hydration and nourish your skin so it looks more radiant.

Aldi Lacura Caviar Night Cream

The packaging of both products feel luxurious, the pots are glass which is quite weighty with silver plastic lids. The design looks simple and a lot more expensive than they are. Yes, I’m very impressed with this range, I wasn’t expecting much but they’re as good as many of my more expensive products. I will be recommending it to my mum, I think she will really like the night cream especially.

I think this duo is pretty fantastic and the price point just makes it all the more incredible. People with oil-prone skin may find the day cream a little heavy but I would recommend trying these out and for the price, I think you will be surprised at the positive results.

Let me know what your favourite affordable skincare products are.

Lacura Caviar Skincare is available in Aldi stores nationwide.
