Concealer Clearout and Declutter

Concealer Clearout and Declutter

I’m trying to get my makeup collection down to a more manageable size. It is a slow process but I’m organising everything so my collection feels more manageable. I started last week by clearing out my Liquid Eyeliners, throwing away any old ones which were past their best & this week I’m doing the same with my concealers. After I have finished going through each section I will show you what products I’m left with & do a bit of a makeup collection post. So on to the concealers, these again are all quite old & past their best,

Yves Rocher Radiant Youth Corrector Pen*

I have had this for a while and I absolutely loved using it, you don’t hear too many people talk about this brand but they do fantastic sales & their makeup and skincare are very good quality. This is quite like the YSL Touche Eclat & it works to brighten rather than conceal, it’s a subtle salmon pink shade so is perfect to neutralise and brighten darkness and shadows on the face. I like to apply this under my eyes and on my chin before going in with my concealer and it helps give more coverage and lessen those darker problem areas. It has a light creamy texture, is easy to blend and doesn’t cake and sink in to fine lines. I would 100% repurchase this.

Miss Sporty Liquid Concealer

This is one of the better budget concealers I have tried over the years. It has a slight yellow undertone to it which makes it good at covering redness. I use this mostly around my nose & a little on my cheeks to counteract the redness in those areas & it works well. The formula is quite thin so it might take a few applications to build up depending upon how full you want the coverage. I like to try more affordable options & I was impressed by this Miss Sporty offering. One product I do LOVE from this brand is their Mineral Earth Eyeshadow, it is well worth picking up & its only £2.99

Primark PS Love Concealer

This is from the Primark Beauty range & it’s not great. It’s a little too oily and doesn’t stay in place for very long at all. I do like the neutral shade and it worked well to add a little more coverage to problem areas, like blemishes. This was very affordable and might work a little better if your skin isn’t oily like mine.

Concealer-Clearout-Decluttering

L’Oreal Lumi Magique Touch of Light Highlighter

This is a similar product to the Yves Rocher. I find its very good at brightening under my eyes and for adding a subtle cheek / nose highlight. It catches the light beautifully without and sparkle, it looks natural and radiant. I like to have at least one of these pen style highlighters in my makeup stash because they are subtle but can instantly brighten any look.

Seventeen Stay Time Concealer

LOVE this concealer & I’m gutted that it ran out, this is my 3rd tube and will be a forever repurchase. Its affordable, fantastic quality and as the name suggests very long wearing. It’s a nice light creamy beige and I use this everywhere & anywhere. It works well under my eyes as a concealer and it is also very good at covering marks & blemishes. If you take the time to blend this in, it will stay in place for hours. Out of all the concealers mentioned this one is great for not sinking in to fine lines, its light texture means its hydrating but still provides a nice medium coverage! Add this to your ‘To Try’ list.

Concealer Swatches

I’m now left with 4 concealers in my collection, which is a much more manageable number but I would repurchase the Yves Rocher, Seventeen Stay Time and the Miss Sporty one too.

Let me know what your favourite concealers are right now & also if your makeup stash is overdue a clear out.

Lacura Thermal Spring Shower Gel*

Aldi certainly know how to do affordable skincare well! This Thermal Spa Range is nourishing, lightweight and purse friendly. The range includes an eye cream, moisturiser and shower gel and is infused with natural thermal water to soothe and moisturise the skin. I will be repurchasing this next time I am in Aldi & highly recommend checking out the eye cream too.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

This is one of the most gentle cleansers I have used and Its easy to see what it is such a cult favourite with almost every beauty editor & beauty blogger. It removes makeup with ease without leaving your skin feeling dry and the hot cloth helps dislodge dead skin to keep it looking radiant. Its a ritual I look forward too in the evening and the distinctive botanical scent is also calming. This creamy cleanser contains these skin loving ingredients, Eucalyptus Essential Oil, Cocoa Butter, Rosemary Essential Oil/Extract and Chamomile Essential Oil/Extract so very gentle, soothing and antioxidant rich.

CoLab Dry Shampoo in Rio

Yes, this is AS good as everyone says. Its has been developed by blogger Ruth Criley and it is the best dry shampoo I have used, I have tried so many brands. I have the Rio version which smells amazing, it has tropical notes of papaya, pineapple & a heart of cassis. It just does exactly what you need a dry shampoo to do, it absorbs oil without weighing hair down or leaving behind a powdery residue. It has helped me out of many a bad hair day situation and if you are able to get it when its on offer in Superdrug make sure you stock up! You won’t want to try any other dry shampoos after this one.

LUSH Rose Jam Shower Gel

I’m not sure how this LUSH offering evaded me for so long, this was my very first time trying this and I can say that I am now very much addicted to the scent of this, Rose Jam who knew it could smell so good?! Its quite a thick consistency and it feels incredible and luxurious on the skin, its hydrating and leaves your skin very soft. I need to stock up on this so I never ever run out.

NUXE Rêve de Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm

I have had this pot for a couple of years and I have found myself reaching for it less and less. For me its more of a Winter product as its quite thick and feels heavy on this lips much like a lip treatment. It comes in a pot which over time does become quite grubby and with it being a couple of years old I though it was time to say goodbye to it. I wouldn’t repurchase this and if I had to recommend a good lip balm it would be the Dr Paw Paw Ointment – its is amazing if you suffer from dry lips.

Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Shampoo*

I was introduced to this brand earlier in the year and have been really impressed with this range. I ran out of the shampoo before the conditioner because after a few uses I realised how hydrating this SuperFruit range was and if I used too much product it weighted my hair down. So I use the conditioner every other wash and that works really well for me. This range contains some really great ingredients including,

  • Superfruit–a blend of red raspberry, ketones, goji, acai and guava extracts rich in anti-aging antioxidants
  • Marula oil–contains natural plant peptides that help support hair’s elasticity
  • Biotin–nourishes individual strands for thicker, stronger hair
  • Shea butter–deeply moisturises while conditioning hair and scalp

It leaves my hair feeling glossy, less frizzy, hydrated and more manageable. The fact that it doesn’t lather up took little getting used to but my hair feels a lot healthier for using it and SheaMoisture is a brand I highly recommend checking out. Their haircare range is available in Boots and they have an extensive selection for most hair types.

I would repurchase all of the products in this post apart from the NUXE Lip Balm. Let me know if you have tried any of them and if you would repurchase them too.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Face Mist

I love using face mists and think they’re a great way of keeping your skin hydrated and feeling refreshed. This Vitamin C one from The Body Shop leaves my skin looking radiant and it has such a zesty uplifting scent. This is a great face mist for the warmer months. I also think its such a great affordable option. This bottle lasted me months and I will be repurchasing this for sure

Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier EDP*

I get so many compliments when I wear this perfume and I think its such a gorgeous luxurious scent. Its quite a sweet fig scent and it wears a really long time on me. I have written a full review of it here if you’d like to know a little more about it. I would repurchase this again in a heartbeat.

Olivine Atelier Love + Roses Beauty Mist

Another mist but this one is more multi functional and is somewhat of a cult product. I loved everything about it, from the Pinterest pleasing packaging to the huge list of ways it can be used and of course all the beauty benefits too! This isn’t just a run of the mill face spray Olivine Atelier have included lots of ingredients that will help hydrate, soothe and combat the signs of aging, if you want to know more then pop over & read my review. Merumaya Iconic Youth Serum*

If you have read my blog for a while you will know all about my love for the British Skincare brand Merumaya – unrivalled skincare at affordable prices (honestly they’re that good). Their Iconic Youth Serum is one of my favourite products from their ever growing range, I like how nourishing this is & it instantly makes my skin my skin feel velvety soft. This serum has an exclusive complex of 10 clinically tested, active ingredients all used in full concentration, its such an incredible product and my skin has never looked more radiant. I’m sad this has run out & I will be placing an order before Christmas so will get another tube then.

Giorgio Armani Fragrance Si

This is one of my all time favourite perfumes. It has notes of Vanilla, Blackcurrant, Rose de Mai and Patchouli and base notes of blond amber which give it a sophisticated musky scent. When you initially spray this you can smell the Vanilla which gives it a sweet scent but it calms down to reveal a chic musky scent which lingers all day. I always treat myself to a bottle from duty free so lets hope I jet off somewhere soon so I can restock.

Laidbare Pack Your Bags Eye Cream

I’m addicted to trying eye cream & this one was spotted whilst buying healthy snacks in Holland & Barratt. I would describe it as quite a thick cream but it does absorb quickly and leaves my under eye area feeling smooth, soft and hydrated. I wouldn’t say it got rid of my bags but I did like it as an eye cream. It contains Buckwheat wax which helps reduce puffiness and dark circles and Shea butter which is great at hydrating. Its pretty affordable & I would use it again.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I have repurchased this so many times & I like it, its as simple as that. I use it most days and a 400ml bottle lasts a couple of months. I do buy this in Savers and thats where I have found it cheapest. There are so many micellar waters on the market now & this is up there with the best I have tried and its easy to get hold of and affordable. So ticks all the boxes for me.

Origins Super Spot Remover

Oh this little product is my go to treatment for angry blemishes. I put a layer of the gel over the spot and let it work its magic. I like that its instantly cooling on the skin and you can feel it working right away. I think it really helps calm and treat the area and stops blemishes from becoming too sore & angry. It always helps heal them faster too.  This bottle might be small but the contents are pretty mighty & last a heck of a long time. I have just opened a fresh bottle which is always satisfying so I’m ready to combat and angry blemishes!

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara*

This has been my favourite Benefit Mascara, I love that it lengthens my lashes without looking spidery and it doesn’t clump but it makes your lashes look thick and full and it really does hold a curl. The packaging is super cute too. I’m hoping to have a tube of this in my stocking this year, so fingers crossed.

Products that are marked with an * have either been sent to me for my consideration or I’ve received at events. I’m under no obligation to review them on my blog. However if I do, the reviews are 100% my own.
