I have a very exciting QVC TSV from London based perfume house Shay & Blue. They will be launching a 4 piece fragrance collection for one day only on Wednesday 11th October. This collection will feature not only their best selling fragrance but you will also get the opportunity to try their newest scent that will isn’t available anywhere else until 2018!
This unique collection is made up of
1x 100ml Eau de Parfum Spray in Atropa Belladonna
1x 10ml Eau de Parfum Spray in Black Tulip
1x 200ml Body & Hand Wash in Atropa Belladonna
1x 200ml Body & Hand Lotion in Atropa Belladonna
So the deal includes Atropa Belladonna which is Shay & Blue’s best-selling fragrance and is an intoxicating beauty of cassis berries, jasmine, white narcissus and patchouli.
The other scent in the collection is Black Tulip which is new for 2018 so you’re getting the opportunity to experience a fragrance that has not even been smelt yet by the beauty editors of the major magazines. This latest fragrance is a beautiful floral gourmand of snowdrops, cyclamen, rich black tulip, juicy plum and smooth white chocolate. It’s very much a modern floral scent with lovely fresh, sweet notes.
If purchased individually these 4 products would cost £112 but QVC are giving its customers a chance to purchase it for, under £50, that’s a saving of over £60. Just remember this is a TSV offer so will be available for one day only!
SAVE OVER £60 Collection value: worth over £112 QVC special price: under £50
I don’t actually own too many perfumes, I try to keep my collection small and actually use them before they pass their best. Fragrance can quite often be very expensive and often that can lead you to only using them sparingly or for special occasions. I like to use my perfumes everyday and so it is nice when you can have a nice mix of good quality affordable options as well as more luxe options too.
I want to introduce you to, two affordable scents from two very well known high street shops, both perfumes have slotted well into my collection and have been seeing a lot of use!
Accessorize Love Lily
I used to use Accessorize makeup all the time and always loved the fun, feminine packaging, so I was excited to try their signature scent. This Love Lily fragrance would make a lovely everyday scent, it is nicely subtle and settles to wear for quite a few hours before the need to reapply. It is incredible value for money and the bottle is beautiful.
The perfume comes in a pretty hexagonal bottle, it is quite weighty and is finished with a pink floral stopper. Out of the two perfumes this does have more of a youthful feel, I think it is because the scent is fruity and sweet. It features notes of raspberry, orange, jasmine and sweet vanilla.
If you enjoy scents that are juicy, fresh and fairly sweet you need to add this to your collection. Don’t think this is going to be sickly sweet because it is not at all, the zesty fruit and floral jasmine help to give it a twist.
Monsoon Rose Gold
The Monsoon Rose Gold is very different from the Accessorize Love Lily. The bottle is more understated and elegant and the scent is sophisticated and sexy. That is how I have justified keeping both – this one makes a beautiful evening scent. So I now have new scents for both day & night.
What I like about the Rose Gold fragrance is that is has more of a warm, sexy scent and neroli and musk are two of my favourite notes. They add a masculine feel. These notes work so well alongside the rose, lemon and vanilla which give it that zesty, sweet twist.
Top notes of sparkling lemon, soft fruit and ozonic scents
Heart notes of velvety rose, tuberose, neroli and cyclamen
Base notes of Eastern woods, vanilla, mosses, musk and balsamic amber
Once it has settled down it smells beautiful, not too heavy but it lasts well on me. I can still smell it on my scarf 4 days after I’d sprayed it.
Both scents are affordable are very pretty. They’re very different in terms of scent and I do feel like the Accessorize Love Lily would be perfect for late teens early 20’s. The Monsoon Rose Gold has a slightly more romantic, sophisticated feel but that being said I have enjoyed them both.
Perfume is down to personal taste & I always recommend trying them out for yourself. So if you get chance to pop into a Monsoon or Accessorize store give them a whirl and let me know your thoughts.
I think it is nice to switch up a few products in your routine when the seasons change, as it’s almost time to wave goodbye to Winter (thank god) and say hello to Spring I thought I would share with you two lovely new Spring launches. What are your favourite perfumes for Spring?
So many people I talk too are surprised to hear that Michael Kors do more than handbags and clothing and that their makeup and fragrance are equally as lovely. This latest fragrance release from Michael Kors is one for Spring / Summer and comes packaged in a beautiful, sleek hot pink bottle with a pretty gold cap and Michael Kors EST. 1981 embossed on the lid. It looks and feels luxurious, as you would expect from this brand.
This is a sweet floral scent with a sexy musky twist, very much my kind of fragrance. It has notes of,
Top Notes of Lychee, Rose Petals and Dewy Leaves
Middle Notes of Pink Peony, Pink Orchid Accord, Muguet and Freesia
Base Notes of Ambrox, Musk and Sandalwood
I think this fragrance would appeal to so many people as its layered with a real mix of notes and as you wear it throughout the day it settles from being quite juicy and floral to being much more woody, musky and sexy. This would work well for day or night and I know I will get a lot of wear from it.
These DKNY fragrances are so familiar in the iconic apple packaging, each year they release a few fun limited edition versions and for Spring 2017 they have released the Eau So Blush which is a beautiful fruity / floral offering. It has notes of,
Top Notes: Pink Grapefruit, Blood Orange, Magnolia, Red Currant
Heart Notes: Peony, Jasmine, Cedarwood
Base Notes: Creamy Woods, Apricot, Musk
I like that you get a burst of zesty citrus which calms to a more sweet floral scent, its going to be gorgeous for the warmer months. I think its a nice fragrance for the daytime as it is quite fresh and light and the scent is easy to wear. I like the soft blush pink bottle and the more metallic lid, its pretty and feminine without being too girly or young, it strikes a nice balance between playful and pretty.
I can’t wait for Spring and the warmer days, it is always nice to change up your scent with the seasons and both these new releases are ideal if you’re looking for a fresh, scent with a floral twist. What is your go to Spring scent?
If you follow me over on Instagram then you will know my lovely husband took me to Amsterdam for my birthday, its our 6th time visiting and we just fall a little more in love with the city each time. I wanted to share with you a few of my favourite products that I took with me in my makeup bag, I knew we would be going out for my birthday so I took some of my favourite products.
Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation
I like the coverage this gives, its more medium than full but it covers redness and thats exactly what I need atm.. It gives a lovely soft focus finish to the skin and has a velvety smooth look to it. It is a very fluid foundation so it is easy to blend and a little product goes a long way, I do like to build up the coverage on more troublesome areas and you know this is never going to look caky or overdone. Although it has a very fluid texture it can often cling to dry patches so I always wear a primer with this and make sure I use a very hydrating moisturiser.
When I want Va Va Voom lashes there is only ever one mascara I reach for and it is the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir. This is seriously black and a couple of coats of this makes your lashes look so full and full of volume. I think this is the mascara that gives my lashes the most dramatic finish, it never goes crispy and your lashes look amazing all night long. Even the packaging is luxurious.
Blush Shades: Romantic (soft pale pink), Playful (soft rose pink)
It is a lovely palette for creating quite a neutral smoky eye and the cheek colours are gorgeous too. I also like that its quite compact and it has a huge mirror in and I use it to do my makeup with whist travelling.
I love the shade Maharajah its a vibrant pink and the perfect colour to amp up any look. I always tend to go quite low key on my eye makeup and opt for more of a bold lip. These Lip Magnets from Armani have the most comfortable formula and the colours are bold, pigmented and have a matte finish so that means it has incredible staying power. Once applied these last all night with out fading, its also such a pretty pink shade and a nice birthday lip option.
I actually repurchased this in Amsterdam because the eyeliner I took with me just wasn’t cutting the mustard and I knew I could rely on Charlotte Tilbury not to let me down. This liner has a really fine nib allowing you to get a neat, precise line and achieve that classic winged liner look. I love this product it is easy to use, fuss free and it never smudges and the pigmentation is intense. So pleased to have a brand new one in my makeup bag.
On a day to day basis I use the Soap and Glory Solar Powder as my bronzer because its quite natural but I wanted a bronzer that was a little more intense for my birthday makeup & this Urban Decay one is gorgeous & if I use it with a light hand its good for contouring. It has a matte finish and it lasts really well on the skin. I also love the cute palm tree packaging.
I recently posted about this perfume over on my Instagram saying how it is my signature scent and I feel more like me when I am wearing it. With that being said I knew I had to take this with me to Amsterdam & there was no way I was decanting it into a Travelo because I love the bottle and they do not hold enough perfume for me, not for a weeks holiday! So Armani Si is a perfume I discovered back in 2013 when it first launched and I have worn it ever since. I love how beautifully sophisticated it is, with a youthful fresh edge.
It has notes of Vanilla, Blackcurrant, Rose de Mai and Patchouli and base notes of blond amber which give it a sophisticated musky scent. When you initially spray this you can smell the Vanilla which gives it a sweet scent but it calms down to reveal a chic musky scent which lingers all day.
It is light enough to be worn through the day but is also sophisticated and sexy to be worn at night. This fragrance has a side that most people will love – the sweetness of the Vanilla and Blackcurrant, the beautiful floral notes of Freesia and Rose de Mai and the more sophisticated base notes of Patchouli and blond wood. It smells amazing. I’m so pleased I had a bottle to take with me to Amsterdam, what would be a birthday without your favourite fragrance.
This is a gorgeous cream blush, It is a pretty sun kissed rose shade and I think its a great shade for my quite pale complexion. It blends so well and with it being in a handy stick form its simple and effortless to apply. It worked well for my night out as it stayed put all night and it. I think this is one of my favourite cream blush products & the colour is quite natural but pretty.
I love this shade, its a gorgeous metallic taupe and once on the lid it looks rose gold, its a great shadow to put on top of other colours just to give a look a little more glamour. The colour is intense and I love the finish of it, especially for a night out as when the light catches the metallic finish it looks really pretty. These Mono Eyeshadow colours from L’Oreal are such good quality and they have a really nice selection of colours. Very handy to travel with as well.
