No7 Purifying Face Mask

No7 Beautiful Skin Purifying Mask Normal / Oily

I have been using this No7 Face Mask for a little over 2 months now. I have been using it twice a week in the shower. You apply it to damp skin and leave it for 2 minutes and wash it off. The strange thing about this mask is that in contact with water it heats up. So when it’s on your face its warm – it’s a very odd sensation.

You need the smallest amount – it has tiny pumice particles in & these gently exfoliate when applying & also when washing the mask off. I’m really gentle when using these as I have really sensitive skin but this one seems to work well and isn’t too abrasive. One thing this does is help keep my oil at bay, not 100% but it does help reduce the amount of shine on my T-Zone.

This mask doesn’t dry on your face which is nice, it smells fresh and is quite a thick consistency. The heat does start right away so be quick to massage it onto your face. After I washed the Mask off my skin was so soft. I can’t say that it tightened my pores but my skin did feel soft & smooth. Also really clean & the dry skin which I get around my nose was a lot less. I have been using it as I said twice a week for 2 months. Being really careful not to wash it off too hard as it does have pumice particles in.

I enjoy using face masks & this one is a really quick one. So if you’re in a hurry you can get smooth clean skin in 2 minutes.

Weleda Citrus Deodorant

Weleda Citrus Deodorant

This was in my #LiveBloggers goody bag from the event back in September. I have been using it since the day I got it. I was excited to see it in our bags and I’ve used a few things from the Weleda Brand. The first thing I noticed was the weight of the product. It was really heavy, it’s a glass bottle which Weleda say is reusable – a great idea.  You do get 100ml of product and I’ve been using it for well over a month and hardly used any. It will last a good couple of months. I wanted to use this product for at least 6 weeks before reviewing it as I know that products can take a while to start working or for you to see any diference.

I was excited to really test this product out as I’d like to find a good natural deodorant  I know I worry about what chemicals I’m using on my underarms. With that area being particularly sensitive. This deodorant has a really lovely Citrus scent, it’s very fresh and pleasant  It is a scent that I really liked. Athough strong when you first put this on the Citrus doesn’t linger too long and it isn’t overpowering so wont interfere with your perfume.

I did notice that when I put this on after shaving it stung quite bad & I’m guessing this was due to the alcohol in it. So that was slightly unpleasant. I would say that I sweat an average amount. Nothing to crazy but I do like to feel like I can trust my deodorant and this Weleda one wasn’t great for me. I only apply it in the morning as it’s too heavy / bulky to take with you on the go to reapply. But by mid afternoon I would feel like I needed a top up and was self conscious that I didn’t have it with me to do that. I’ve been testing this in the colder months and so I tend not to get too hot and sweaty during Autumn/Winter and with this not really standing up during these months I wouldn’t feel comfortable using it in the summer for fear of being a sweaty betty.

As I work from home I will use it on the days I will be in the house as I want to use it up (hate to waste anything). I felt a little disappointed in this products as I wanted to like it & I do like the smell & think if you’re someone who doesn’t sweat very much then is for you. But I need a little more than this deodorant can give. For the price £8.50 it didn’t work well enough for me to repurchase.

Let me know if you have tried this Citrus deodorant from Weleda or any others from Weleda. You can purchase this from Weleda Online or Tesco

*This was a PR sample given to me at an event. This review is 100% my own.

Wipe the day away

Botanics All Bright Cleansing Face Wipes

I’m not one to use wipes on a regular basis – being in my mid 30’s my skin needs all the TLC it can get. So I tend to cleanse properly every night. I quite like the ritual of it. I do use wipes to freshen up during the day esp if I am traveling and unable to wash my face. So I do have a pack of wipes on the go. I’ve tried a fair few brands over the years and like most beauty bloggers I like trying new products.

I picked up some of the newly re branded Botanics Cleansing Face Wipes when they were a 3rd off in Boots. They are fairly cheap and I think when things are pretty cheap you tend not to have too high expectations for them. But I’ve used a few things from this Botanics range both before the re branding and after and there’s some things I really like (their eye makeup remover not being one of them). So I thought these wipes would be quite good.

But I was so wrong. I found them to be really drying and quite scratchy on my skin. If you want them to remove makeup then you will be disappointed as they’re pretty poor at doing that. They claim to remove even waterproof makeup but I find that hard to believe. They might just remove a layer of dirt from your face but that’s about it. They’re not very moist and now I’m only using them to wipe my hands, to freshen them up when I’m on the go. I won’t use them on my face anymore

I will not be repurchasing these. I have a few packets of the No7 ones I purchased using my trusty N07 Vouchers. They always seem to work well for me. What wipes do you use & would recommend?

Daily Battle

I have a few moisturises that I’m really enjoying at them moment, so I though I’d show you what I am using as my Day & Night Creams. I have a few more tucked away but these are my goto ones for the colder months.

So I have 5 winter staples this year 3 day creams and 2 night creams. The No7 Protect & Perfect Day Cream is so hydrating and moisturising. I’ve been through a few pots of this and my skin really likes it. Its great under makeup and leaves my skin feeling soft all day. It has SPF 15 and a 5* for UVA which I like. This pot lasts me at least 4 months so you get great value for money – £22 for 50ml

My Avene Redness Relief Moisturizing Protecting Cream is amazing. I do suffer from redness on my cheeks and it gets worse in the colder months. This Avene Cream really helps. It’s quite thick and green toned but that fades on the skin. I find it takes a while to sink in, but once it has it really helps keep my redness in check. Obviously it doesn’t make it go away completely. This cream is anti irritating and is perfect for those of you who like me have sensitive skin. It also has SPF 20 in. £13.05 for 40ml

The Origins Starting Over Age Erasing Moisturizer with Mimosa this is a lovely creamy face cream with a strong botanical scent. That might be to everyone’s taste but I quite like the smell of this cream. I have been using this for about 4 weeks and so far my skin has reacted will to it. It’s really hydrating and glides on my skin. It’s meant to have great anti ageing qualities in & at 34 I could use some of those. I can’t comment too much on that but I am hoping its doing is job. I will continue with this and see if I can see any significant improvement. £38 50ml This pot came as part of the Starting Over set and so is only 30ml

Now on to Night Creams – The Avon Anew Genics Treatment Cream has been such a great night cream for me. I have noticed some discolouration on my cheeks lessening. I have some acne scaring and it’s really helping with that. This is thick but not greasy at all. By morning my skin is smooth and bright. After 2 months of using I really like the results I’m seeing. I can’t find where to buy this online. Only on Ebay for between £15 – £20 for 30ml

Now I have saved the best for last. My beloved Dr Andrew Weil for Origins Mega Mushroom Skin Relief Face Cream. There is no denying I simply love this night cream. This was also part of a kit & I used the Mega Mushroom Toner and Face Wash & loved them too. The face cream is very highly scented and it smells strong on your face. So I think that might put a lot of people off this. This is not specifically a night cream but it’s really thick and strongly scented so I like to use it as a night cream so I can apply a thick layer of it. This cream is aimed at reducing redness – something that I suffer with and also I have found it helps stop be getting breakouts. I have a 30ml pot but you can buy the 50ml pot for £46

What face creams have you been using and what couldn’t you live without?
