Avon Nail Wear Pro +

I get my Avon products the old fashioned way – through the lovely Avon lady who comes to my door. I browse the catalogue and place my order with her. Easy. Then I wait a week or so and she pops round has a nice chat and gives me my eagerly awaited purchases.

I’ve made quite a few purchases over the past couple of months and have re discovered a love for Avon, they seem to have high quality products for an affordable price. I wanted to let you know about their nail polishes. I have read alot of great reviews about them – one in particular here on The London Lipgloss. These nail polishes always seem to be sold out but I’ve managed to get my hands on a few colours my favourite being Licorice. This is an amazing intense black.

This polish is really long wearing and the formula is really nice to and not runny at all, 2 coats with a top coat lasted me for 4 days. I’ve also teamed this up with my No7 silver glitter top coat and it looked fab the silver flecks of glitter really stood out against the black. I bought my Avon polish for £3 half price but full price they are £6 for 12ml

I’m a big fan of black nail polish and think it can look really cute. This Avon one is bold and the colour quite sharp. If you manage to get them when their running an offer then you should pick up a few colours. They get a thumbs up from me.

Latest in Beauty Skincare Box

The Latest in Beauty Skincare Box was worth over £40, so was delighted to be one of the few who were able to pick it up for  £8.95 (+£2.95 p&p). What a bargain. This is the second limited edition box i have purchased from Latest in Beauty. They have both arrived within 3 days of purchase which gets the thumbs up from me.

So these are the products in my box –

1. Etat Pur Micellar Cleansing Water  this is a full size product at 190ml rrp £6.40 – i was so excited to get this, I’ve quite sensitive skin and wanted to try a more gentle makeup remover & thought this might work well for me. I started using it right away and have been using it every night for a week and have only good things to say about it. It gets all my makeup off (I dont use it for my eyemakeup) and its very gentle on my skin. I will defiantly be repurchasing this.

2. Melvita Naturalift Youthful Skin Cream – I’ve heard of this brand but not tried anything from them so far. If it says Youthful on the packaging then I’m down with that, it claims to soften lines are reduce wrinkles. So watch this space and i’ll let you know how i get on. You recieved a 15ml sample and the full size is 50ml rrp £23

3. Balance Me Moisture Rich Face Cream – I can’t have enough face creams I just love them and Balance Me is a brand that I like and their products are always so on point. They are efective and just work. So was thrilled to try this moisture rich face cream. I’ve only used it a couple of times and have found it really hydrating and think it will be a great cream to have in the winter when my skin gets super dry. This has rose oils in and i know they are good for your skin and can have a really calming effect. In the box you get a 10ml sample and the full size is 50ml rrp £24 (thats a great price).

4. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate – Now I’m a Kiehl’s Skin Care Addict. I love their products alot and really enjoy going into their store in Covent Garden and getting great advice and service from the staff. Is a real pleasure to go in. I’m already using the eye cream from this Midnight Recovery Range –> see blog post here. So i am really excited to give the face oil a go. In the box you get a 4ml sample and the full size is 30ml rrp £36

5. L’Occitane Angelica Hydration Cream 15ml  – Oooo another face cream & a hydrating one. My skin is always in need of hydrating. I’m saving this for my week in Amsterdam in August so i’ll test it out and tell you how hydrating I find it. The sample pot is 15ml so perfect size for my travels – the full size is 50ml rrp £29.

6. Last but not least is the – Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser. Another brand I’ve not tried. Once I finish my No7 exfoliator i’ll start testing this. I like a gentle exfoliator as my skin gets irritated very easily. So it will be interesting to see how I get on with this. It has Salicylic, Lactic and Glycolic Acids – which I know from watching Lisa Eldridge and Vivianna Does Makeup on Youtbe that these are great for my skin. The sample size is 30ml. Full size is 200ml rrp £34 – a little pricey for me but i’ll hold judgement until I try it.

So I think I got 6 great skincare samples and for only £8.95 (+£2.95 p&p) – also it seems everything in the box is perfect for my skin so that makes a nice change. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the quality and service given by Latest in Beauty. I’ve never ordered their £1 sample boxes. But their limited edition boxes have been really great.

Have you used Latest in Beauty? What did you get?

Instagram Roundup Week #6

So this was the week for leaving home without my umbrella – realising i have a hole in my most loved brown boots (rain came in and foot was SO wet) and generally feeling a little over this crappy weather.

My little brother also left for 10 days in NYC and my mum is currently in Barcelona for 2 weeks. Jealous much – Oh YES i am. I have been packing up my things ready for moving to Manchester towards the end of this month (can you believe its July?).

My photos for this week are not all that exciting as i have tried not to venture out too much as there are SO many sales on and i promised to cut back on spending. Oh but one great thing happened me & the hubby have booked a return visit to Amsterdam for our anniversary in August. So i am excited for that.

My brother & hubby looking at cars and ignoring me, Latest in beauty skincare box, Curiosity Cola, No7 Airbrush Away Primer (love this), Paul Frank Laptop Cover, Yes i am reading 50 Shades of Grey (its OK but not really well written just a light hearty filthy read LOL.)

Sleepy Cat, Lots of gossip to catch up on, Drooling over Essie Nail Polish in Boots, Me & the Hubby, Full English, Kiehl’s products

Great Summer Lip Product

carmex2

This is a quick post to say I really like the new Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm Peach Sheer Tint SPF15 (wow, that’s a mouth full). Love this has SPF in.

I have been an avid user of Carmex and have many a little yellow tin in every handbag, so when I saw these Carmex Stick lip balms with a tint to them, I had to try it out. They are moisturising and the tint is a nice colour, just be mindful that it’s not a lipstick, and it doesn’t have the staying power of one. You will get a nice peace sheen to your lips, which will stay about 30 mins or so.

They are really moisturising and make your lips feel fresh. They also smell nice and sweet. I like my lip balms to have a scent to them, esp ones for the summer.  The fact it has SPF 15 in is a big plus for me, as I am really keen on using products with protection in them. It also has Aloe Vera and vitamin E in, both of which are very soothing and great for summer, when your lips tend to get dry with the heat.

All in all it’s a great inexpensive summer lip tint and I have been enjoying using it. I like that it’s in a stick with a twist up. Just don’t twist it up too far, as it can get stuck.
