Mia* is the latest fragrance release from Ted Baker, I have been wearing if for the past couple of weeks and absolutely enjoying its fresh mix of fruity and floral notes. This perfume is in the perfect 10ml sized bottle, which is just so handy for carrying in your handbag & being on the go. It doesn’t compromise on quality or packaging, as this bottle is just stunning.

It comes in an eye catching triangular pink and gold box, and inside sits the most beautiful slim light pink frosted glass bottle with a gold jewelled lid engraved with Ted Bakers initials. It’s perfectly purse size and utterly feminine. Not only that, but it looks luxurious and expensive, and when it’s not in my handbag it looks right at home on my vanity.

Goodness Gracious Mia

Mia has top notes of fresh lemon, raspberry and blackcurrant with base notes of patchouli and golden amber and all of those scents together with rose and freesia make this a fresh fragrance that is so easy to wear day or night. I love fruity scents and find the floral notes don’t over power the overall fragrance and that it can smell different on me each time I wear it.

I do find that it doesn’t last too well on my skin, but I do find that with a lot of other high-end fragrances too. Having this in my purse means it’s convenient and easy to reapply on the go. I thought this was going to be more of a Summer scent but the more I wear it as the seasons change, the more I love how well it wears as the weather gets colder. I think that’s due to the patchouli and amber base notes, I adore patchouli and it’s one of my favourite scents to wear.

Don’t be put off if you sit on either the floral or the sweet side of the fence when it comes to perfume, as Mia has both, and they work very well together. If you’re in Boots, make sure you test this fragrance out, I think it will appeal to so many of you.

Roger & Gallet are a French Perfumery House founded in 1862 by merchant Charles Armand Roger and banker Charles Matial Gallet, their products have such a rich history & they are famous for their perfumes and body products and I have been testing their beautiful new fragrance Gingembre Rouge*

This new fragrance from Roger & Gallet is a refreshing take on their popular Gingembre scent, which has been available for over a decade now. The original Gingembre is more of an intense scent whereas the new Gingembre Rouge* (red ginger) is light, fresh and fruity.

For this new scent Roger & Gallet have taken inspiration from the exotic and beautiful Island of Zanzibar, I have never had the pleasure of visiting but I can just imagine its warmth and beauty. This fragrance smells exotic, feminine and quite sweet, it has the following top note, heart notes & base note

Top Notes: Fresh Ginger, Pomegranate Pulp, Mandarin

Heart Notes: Ginger Flower, Lychee Flower, Orange Blossom

Base Notes: Crystallised Ginger, Cedar Wood, White Musk

I’m terrible at describing scents but I would say that this smells zesty, spicy and floral in equal measures. The ginger adds a twist but isn’t overpowering and the scent is beautiful from the moment you spray it in to the skin. Its gorgeous & has been my go to Summer scent. I took it with me in my Travelo on my recent trip to Amsterdam & it was the perfect scent for day & night.

The bottle is pretty and feminine, it has a beautiful ombre effect from deep to light pink and it looks right at home on my vanity. I have the very sweet and travel friendly 30ml (£16) bottle it also comes in 100ml (£39) so both are very affordable. This is undoubtably the perfect scent for warmer months but I still plan on wearing it long into Autumn. It has such a fresh fruity scent which will still be lovely as a daytime fragrance even as the days grow shorter and the temperature cools.

If you’re lucky enough to be jetting away for some Winter sun then this would be the perfect holiday fragrance.

Giorgio Armani Si

When I heard that Cate Blanchette was the face of the new Giorgio Armani Fragrance Si* I was more than a little excited. She is a beautiful woman, very strong and inspiring woman. I learned that she has a long standing relationship with the brand as she used her first movie pay to buy an Armani suit, which still she has today. She looks absolutely stunning in the campaign.

I’m a very loyal girl and it takes something quite special for me to put down my favourite scents (Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin and SPACENK Laughter) and use something new, but this new Si fragrance from Giorgio Armani is very special. It smells so sophisticated but in a youthful way.

It has notes of Vanilla, Blackcurrant, Rose de Mai and Patchouli and base notes of blond amber which give it a sophisticated musky scent. When you initially spray this you can smell the Vanilla which gives it a sweet scent but it calms down to reveal a chic musky scent which lingers all day. It smells amazing. Even my husband loves the way this smells. He is a big fan of Patchouli, so I think thats why he likes it on me.

It is light enough to be worn through the day but is also sophisticated and sexy to be worn at night. This fragrance has a side that most people will love – the sweetness of the Vanilla and Blackcurrant, the beautiful floral notes of Freesia and Rose de Mai and the more sophisticated base notes of Patchouli and blond wood.

Si

The bottle is simple but feels luxurious and looks very pretty sat out on my vanity. I don’t know why but it reminds me of a flower. Si is Italian for Yes and I think thats quite a positive name for a fragrance. For me it embodies the strength of women and opening ourselves up for opportunities and positivity. The name Si along with Cate Blanchette being the face of this new Giorgio Armani fragrance makes me associate it with being sophisticated, ambitious and strong. I think that embodies what I want to be as a woman.

I have put some of this into my Travelo so I can have it in my handbag, I’m a big fan and if you’re looking for a new fragrance urge you to test this in store and walk around whilst the scent changes from being pretty and sweet to being musky and sophisticated. You will be a fan I am sure.

Orla Kiely Fragrance

I was really chuffed to find this sample in my LiveBlogger goody bag. I had smelt it whilst in the Orla Kiely store in Covent Garden with my lovely Mother & we both really liked it. She had used the tester and we noticed how well the scent settled down and lasted on her skin. It was lovely and fresh. Although at the time I thought it was’t a great summery scent.

So to find a sample in my bag made me very happy. I’ve been using is sparingly and trying to make it last as long as possible. I’ve been a huge fan of the Orla Kiely print as most people are. They are so recognisable and iconic now. I managed to pick up a dress in the Orla Kiely line released in UNIQLO & I LOVE IT. But im getting side-tracked, back to the perfume.

As I said I thought it wasnt a great summery fragrance but think it’s a lovely scent for Autumn as it has

‘Notes of uplifting Green Tea, Peach and Fig combine with natural Rose extract and delicate White Flowers. Base notes of Cedarwood, Sandalwood and classic Musk’

It’s a really warm rich scent that is easy to wear. I love it and my mum keeps trying to pinch my sample. So I’d say that is a good fragrance for most people. It’s so hard to describe a perfume & I think also fragrance sit and develop differently on everyone. So if you get the chance to test this Orla Kiely Eau De Parfum then do so. You won’t be disappointed.
