I’m already a fan of acrylic storage as a way of organising my makeup collection, so when DOMU contacted me to see if I wanted to test out a piece from their new Beautify Makeup Storage range, I was very excited. (DOMU are an online retailer offering stylish and functional kitchen, garden and homeware). They offer some great organising and storage solutions, so if you’re like me & everything has to have a place you will love this department.
After spending some time thinking about which option would be best for me, I eventually opted for the Clear Acrylic Medium 6 Tier Makeup Organiser* and I’m very, very happy with my choice. When it arrived I had a huge clear out and only put in these drawers products I 100% loved and used. I can see everything I have in one place, it feels tidy and ordered.
The option I went with has 5 deep drawers plus an upper compartment with hinged flip top lid. The drawers are deep enough that your foundation bottles fit in with room to spare, face powders / eyeshadows can be stored 2 deep. The drawers seem to go on forever.
Often with makeup drawers they are not always deep enough and you end up not being able to fit in everything. These are very practical and the dimensions work well so you can store a variety of makeup products. I also like the flip top lid and have been using the top part to sore my current perfume and a few of my most used products.
I need to do some re jigging but lets face it organising your makeup is an ongoing task. I am so happy with how many foundations I can fit into one drawer. These used to be too big to fit into a single drawer.
I have to mention that they arrived very well packaged, acrylic can often get damaged in transit but DOMU add sturdy cardboard to reinforce the edges so they do not get cracked or scratched in transit. The quality of the drawers themselves is very good too, they feel sturdy, the acrylic is thick and well made. I would be gentle with the hinges on the lid as thats the only part that could break.
So if you’re looking for affordable storage solutions then make sure you check out DOMU as they have a really good selection. Next on my list to organise is my jewellery collection and I am going to tackle that in the new year.
If you are into luxury luggage and like me have always wanted a swish vanity case for all your cosmetics then I think you are going to fall in love with this BIBA Vanity Case. BIBA are a luxe luggage brand that sell in House of Fraser, they have an extensive selection of beautiful suitcases and handbags. They’re also celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, so its safe to say they know a thing or two about travelling in style.
I’ve been trying out the stunning purple Vanity Case which is moulded with the iconic BIBA jacquard design on a beautiful high shine finish, with metallic gold detailing. Its incredible quality and although its lightweight (which is what you want when it comes to luggage) it feels very strong and durable so you know all your treasures are going to travel safely inside this. Its functional whilst looking stylish, of course.
The interior is divided thoughtfully with zipped, meshed and elasticated pockets to make this the perfect compact organiser. You get two very good sized compartments on each side, these are deep and allow you to pack the bulk of your toiletries in here, knowing they’re protected by the hard case. They zip closed so they are secure and I managed to fit full sized toiletries inside with room to spare.
You also get a zipped mesh pouch which is ideal for items that you may need to reach for before you get to your destination. There is also handy elasticated pockets which you can slide in things like makeup brushes, sunglasses and hair tools. So you have lots of options and for someone that loves organising their makeup and skincare its perfect.

I’m always looking for ways to store my makeup without spending a fortune. I keep out the makeup I use most often. I like to store it in these four jars / pots. The first one is an old Twinning’s Coffee Tin and that holds my Mascara’s, although it is becoming a tight squeeze.
The second jar I found at a carboot sale in Scotland a few years ago. It is an Old Stilton Cheese Jar, I love this and I have some Lip Crayons, Concealer’s and a few other bits stored in it. It is quite wide and holds a far few products.
The cute animal tin is from Paperchase and holds a few of my brushes, this needs to be swapped for something a little bigger really – as I have a few new brushes that need a home.
Lastly I have my eyeliners in this Wales Jar – This was bought by my husbands dad when he was a little boy & was passed onto my husband years ago. It is perfect for my eyeliners.
