Although I currently live in the beautiful Cornish countryside I’m 100% a city girl at heart so this beautiful fragrance from Miller Harris really appealed to me. Miller Harris has created a fragrance that gives a nod to the beauty of rural Britain but with an urban twist. They wanted to use ingredients that can be found growing wild in London which makes this fragrance a wonderful mix of the fresh outdoors combined with hints of a Summer in a city.  Lost in the city really is everything you can imagine and more. I am loving its crisp, fresh notes especially as Spring is fast approaching.

The fresh, lush notes really contrast with crisp, sharp notes and that’s what makes this fragrance really interesting and just the right amount of unusual to make it different. It has everything I look for in a fragrance and more.

Head Notes: Bergamot Zest, Angelica Seed, Blackcurrant

Heart Notes: Rhubarb, Rose petals, Geranium

Base Notes: Earl Grey Tea, Crisp Amber, Musk

I love the initial zesty, fruity notes, they’re so refreshing and work so well layered with the pretty light floral notes of rose and geranium mixed with that bold sharp rhubarb which is so unusual. Finally, the rich musk, amber and Earl Grey tea leave you with such an intense, warm and sophisticated scent. This perfume is such a treat and the notes contrast yet compliment each other and that for me makes it a stand-out perfume. I have been loving wearing it, and it is a fragrance that lasts ALL day long, it does not fade away but stays full and rich for hours. It is such a luxurious scent, and it makes me feel amazing when I wear it.

In keeping with Miller Harris’ environmental principles, the packaging uses sustainable or recycled materials in surprising new ways, teaming up with Smile Plastics, whose unique composites are made from waste materials, from bottle tops to yoghurt pots, to create distinctive and beautiful fragrance holders which can be reused as keepsake boxes. It looks almost like marble, and the bottle looks really pretty sat in the holder on your vanity. It is so nice to see a brand using recycled materials in their packaging.

Miller Harris is the ultimate in luxury for me when it comes to fragrance. Their products are quite unique and incredible quality. I have really loved everything I have tried from them and I have been wearing Powdered Veil every day for well over a month now. I think it has an air of confident sophistication about it & that is how I feel when I wear it.

NEW Miller Harris Powdered Veil

Miller Harris was founded 15 years ago by expert parfumer Lyn Harris who spent five years training in Paris, then in Grasse at Robertet, the world’s leader in natural aromatic ingredients. Whilst respecting tradition, Miller Harris strives to push the boundaries, creating exquisitely crafted fragrances that are innovative yet timeless. Miller Harris perfumes are beautiful, luxurious and timeless. 

Powdered Veil is the latest offering from Miller Harris and it is a modern nod to old school Hollywood glamour. This Eau de Parfum is rich, fresh, sexy and warm all in one. Miller Harris describes this scent as,

‘Delicately powdery and sweetly resinous, amber is the definitive oriental accord and, in Powdered Veil, it is given a nuanced and translucent air. The sparkling freshness of spicy pink pepper flirts with a twist of rosy geranium. A sensuous orchid accord provides a fragile and haunting floralcy to the heart, combined with transparent florals and the luminous freshness of hedione. A rich and radiant lasting impression of soft powder is created through the combination of amber, vanilla Bourbon and musk, where a sensual and animalic vibration of labdanum combines with sandalwood to create intimacy and warmth.

When you first spritz this subtly powdery fragrance it has a real touch of sweetness which is quite refreshing. This leads into more fruity fresh notes which are uplifting and delicate. Then when left to settle it reveals its more confident, warm, rich notes which I think make this perfume feel modern, sensual and very romantic. I love the mix of fruity, floral and sweet notes with the more warm, elegant, rich woody and musk notes. It works so well and gives it layers the change as it wears throughout the day. It is a great day to night scent and one that has a confident edge to it.

Miller Harris Powdered Veil Matte Pink Bottle

The packaging for Powdered Veil is quite different from what we’re used to from Miller Harris. The bottle shape is still the familiar weighty squared off design but they have stepped away from the clear bottle. This offering comes in a simple, sophisticated matte pink bottle. The contrast of the soft matte pink bottle and the gold embossed lettering really gives the design a modern, glamorous and sleek look that compliments the fragrance.

It’s always quite difficult to describe a fragrance because they’re such a personal product. Everyone’s take on a scent is different but I do I urge you to seek out your local Miller Harris retailer so you can explore their range for yourself. I love to switch up my perfume as the season’s change and I think this is the perfect excuse to treat yourself to a new scent. So August saw Molton Brown release their stunning new Pretty Bold – Jasmine & Sun Rose Collection. This Collection celebrates being fearlessly feminine and looks to empower women and their individuality. The range centres around the starring note, the jasmine flower, which is both beautifully delicate yet exceptionally powerful. I think It’s the perfect scent to see us through the end of a beautiful Summer and take us into a crisp fresh Autumn.

The new Jasmine & Sun Rose fragrance is a mix of fruity and floral, layered with warm sexy feminine notes. Opening with fresh Bergamot, Raspberry and soft Peach, the captivating scent is enhanced by a delicate heart of Rose, Jasmine and Osmanthus, before settling on a luxurious Patchouli and Musk base.

The peach and raspberry give this fragrance a real sweet fruitiness that has a juicy touch. This is a fragrance that works for day or night. When it is first spritzed you can really make out the fruity notes but once settled down the elegant, rich, sexy notes of musk and patchouli really come through.

Molton Brown Luxurious Fragrance

The packaging for this collection is simply stunning & to illustrate the fragrance, Molton Brown has collaborated with acclaimed British artist Rhea Thierstein evoking the soul of this fragrance in her own piece of moving art. The bottles themselves are the classic Molton Brown deigns but the colours have a feminine peachy, pink hue and the gift boxes are just extra special. They look like a colourful marble effect and this is one box that I will be keeping, it really is too nice to throw away.
