USA Beauty Purchases

I went to San Francisco with one mission – aside from enjoying what SF had to offer, I wanted to buy drugstore beauty items. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on things as I have so many unused items at home in my collection. So I wanted to hunt out some American Favourites & I landed quite lucky. San Francisco has the most amazing Walgreens. It’s on 2 levels and the makeup & beauty section is massive and very well stocked. This particular one was very close to my hotel so that made me very happy and I often found myself in there at 9pm browsing the aisles whilst it was fairly quiet.

The other drugstores I went into were CVS & Target, I wish there was an ULTA in San Francisco City but the closest one was quite far out so I was a little gutted but I still managed to buy quite a few exciting things and here they are.

San Francisco Purchases

I know a few things I bought are available in the UK, but American prices are so much better than ours. I am most excited to use the Sonia Kashuk Eyeshadow Duo in Diamond Life $7.29. This has one matt soft brown and shimmer cream colour so a great little duo.

The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser $8.99 – I bought the brightening one. I know these are being released in the UK but I just couldn’t resist buying this. I have always wanted to try a Milani Baked Blush & I opted for the Rose D’Oro its a pretty peach pink with a hint of shimmer. Great for the summer.

I have also heard some great reviews of the Jordana line and products from this line are so affordable and seem to be always on offer. I bought a few things, first up Is their Fabu Liner Liquid Eyeliner in 01 Black $2.99 such a bargain, I love liquid liner and I’ve a few on the go & will do a comparison post soon. I also bought the Jordana FabuBrow Eyebrow Pencil in 03 Dark Brown $2.99 and the Jordana Metal Rocks Eyeliner in 01 Green Envy $2.99, this reminds me of the Stila Eyeliners will be interested to see how they compare. Last up from Jordana I bought a lipgloss it’s the Jordana LipShine Natural Glaze in 03 Raspberry $1.99.

The Wet n Wild stands were few & far between and no store seemed to carry the whole line, but I did manage to buy a few items. The ones I’m most excited for are the colour icon blushes in Pearlescent Pink and Heather Silk these cost £2.99 each. Also at the last minute I bought one of their creme shadow pencils in 130 Pixie and it is so creamy and has the nicest glossy sheen. I wish I bought a few more colours as it was only $1.99

I had such fun browsing all the American offerings and there was so much more I wanted but you can’t have it all and where is the fun in that. I’m sure I will be heading back State side in the near future and my wish list has started again. I have a few more bits so show you but will pop them in to a separate post.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of the products I bought and link me if you have done a review on them.

Physicians Formula

In my last post I spoke about the swap I’ve done with the lovely Casey of Beauty101Blog – she has sent me a box full of US goodies and I sent some British makeup bits. This lovely Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush was one of the things I REALLY wanted. I’d seen it online and it looked so lovely. It doesn’t disappoint in person either. So pretty.

This looks so pretty in the pan & looks similar to the Stilla Make Me Blush – I haven’t tried the Stilla blush so I can’t comment on how similar the actual products are but they look-alike in the pan and are both so pretty. I like to wear soft toned pink blushes they seem to suit my skin tone, and this Physicians Formula one looks quite natural on the skin. Just gives you a hint of a fresh flushed look. A perfect summer colour. This colour is called 7322 Rose and you get 7g of product for $11.95

They say this blush in infused with  ‘natural plant extracts which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of Endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress’ I don’t know about that but it sounds good and if it works then that’s fine by me. I noticed that this blush also had a little light reflecting quality to it too. Making the cheeks look really healthy with a pop of colour. Anything that makes me look a little brighter and healthier is going to get the thumbs up from me.

I’m pleased with blush this and have worn it all week, it applies really well on the cheek. Not powdery at all and gives a satin finish. Very pretty indeed. Nice and natural looking. Another good thing is there us no shimmer which helps make this blush look more natural on the cheek.

The blush part flips up to reveal a brush and a mirror, this is a little gimmicky for me. The mirror is a good addition but I tend not to use the brushes that come with products as they are never really that great. It’s a cute idea but I’m not really a fan.

What American products are you lusting over. I have such a big wish list it’s getting out of control. Please tell me you’re the same.

EOS Summer fruit Lip balm

My lovely little brother recently went to NYC (lucky bugger) & i asked him to bring me a few things back. Not really thinking he would. So one of the things i asked for was the EOS Summer fruit Lip balm. I have seen these on lots of US beauty blogs & YouTube videos. I know there are a few websites that sell these in the UK, but i thought as he was these id get him to pick up one

This lip balm smells AMAZING! Oh my I can’t get over how nice it is. I keep getting it out my purse and smelling it. Getting alot of funny looks. I think half of why its so nice is its packaging, its in a sphere and it feels odd putting it on as we are so used to a tube when it comes to lip balm.

I’ve been using it underneath my Revlon Lip Stain to keep my lips nourished. This  little lip balm is great to throw in your handbag. The packaging is really robust and perfect for travelling / taking out & about. I just love it and I’m going to pick up a couple more when i can. If you can recommend any others let me know.

The good thing about these is that they’re 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free so thats good news for your lips.

I dont know what my brother paid for this (as it was a gift). I already have so many lip products but i just needed to try this and i’ve been pleasantly surprised its really lovely on the lips. It would be great for a holiday
